But for some reason i still see them reaching a deal.
I meant the quote of Gigli simply saying "no" if Flamini would go Juve (see the end of http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=672228 ).

If true (and I doubt it's a lie), this is the reason I see Milan in pole position for his signature. However, I understand your feeling of him staying at Arsenal. The only doubt I have there is how late it is.

That's not true though. Goal.com (as usual) twisted his words.
This all comes from today's Tuttosport where according to them Gigli said
""Comunque su Flamini ci siamo e gli faremo anche una proposta, se poi lui dovesse decidere di andare in un’altra squadra, buon per lui, noi abbiamo altri centrocampisti nella nostra lista. Non si preoccupino i tifosi, ci stiamo attrezzando per un ritorno in Champions alla grande, con una squadra che sarà sicuramente competitiva"

In short : "We're still interested in Flamini, we'll make another offer to him and if he accepts it then ok, if he won't then it's still ok. We have other midfielders on our list also"

Now how did Gazzetta and then goal.com translate this to "NO" i have no idea.

But....if Milan are really (and i mean REALLY) going to do everything to get Flamini and if there is a bidding war between Juve and Milan then i see Juve chanceless.

Arsenal's improved offer, according to today's press in England ( http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...9520-20394120/ ) , is £55,000-a-week and in the same article it's said that this is still less than what Juve offered Flamini.
How do we count this ? Do we count 55 000 x 52 weeks ?
In that case Arsenal's offer is £2,85 millions a year, which equals 3.5 million euro.

Oh, and btw, we make this sound like it's between Juve, Arsenal and Milan but it looks like Bayern are also seriously after Flamini.
I won't be too surprised if he ends up there at the end.

That sentence from Cobolli Gigli turned into a "no" because i think the journalists have some sources inside the clubs themselves. A few networks gave Flamini almost official tonight.

Gazzetta is not much more reliable than the other papers. In general, it is more seriously done. They rarely build up news. Corriere and Tuttosport do it often. But Gazzetta must please its readers as well as the other papers.

no paper has more inside information than anyone, when Gazzetta says this player is more likely to join Milan its only cuz they are using common sense and predicting.

the only sources I use are quotes by the players and nothing else. Bronzetti's quotes are quite interesting to read on the market because he is someone who could have inside information.. Goal.com is becoming such a ridiculous site and is twisting almost everything the players say. I dont understand how ppl see Gazzetta as a reliable source whatsoever, there is no paper more accurate than the other, it is all pure speculation.

Tony29, I have always thought and still think Flamini will stay at Arsenal too. I'm hoping for a good mercato by Milan but I really dont know who is out there that could really make a big impact at Milan. Zambrotta is the only gem out there I would snatch, maybe Dinho too.

You guys see the quote by Galliani saying that the club is in debt and the problems can be solved by the sale of Kaka? It's on channel 4 and goal.com.

What on earth is going on? We are bankrolled by the richest and most powerful man in Italy---we shouldnt be talking like this to the media.

That was most obviously a joke. I can't believe people are really taking that comment seriously.

Galliani was making examples of how to get out of dept..

by saying:

"Either you start giving us some money(sponsors) or we'll sell our best players!"

Well, I really don't understand why Milan can be in debt as we never break the bank in transfers anymore. On top of that, we reached the CL finals 3 times in the past 5 years, thats like about 200Mil there. So I really don't understand why Milan can be losing money?????

All the italian media give Flamini almost official.

Today seems to be about a 'cash boost' ... mostly by selling some players. 15 million for Gilardino, 10 million for Oliveira, 15 million saving by releasing Dida and more savings through the releases of Simic & Storari.

We're then linked with a whole host of players, half of which are a complete surprise.

Alex (San Paolo)
Sidney Rachel (Internacional)
Hernanes (San Paolo)
Carlos Eduardo (Gremio)
Fernandinho (Shaktar)
Guardado (Deportivo)
Cigarini (Parma)
Gladkyy (Shaktar)
Lloris (Nice)

1) guys even if flamini comes and we sell brocci and emerson ... we will have only flamini gattusso pirlo and ambro which will be hard if we use our christmas tree formation so i think we must look for a young DMF talent for the backup maybe like montolivo ot cigarini
2) i read that lahm would better like to go to barca and that will raise our oppotunity to get zambrotta but i was counting him as the other full back so i think it would be easier to play zambro as a RB and buy pasqual or vargas
3) if we get amelia ... it won't solve our problem as i don't see him better than dida and so let's put 2 new names for GK: PELE AND STEKLENBERG
4) i know we will sell gila and i am quite sure we will get sheva in a loan deal and that we will try to buy borriello's other half and so who will be our strikers : pato inzaghi sheva boriello ronaldo paloschi ... too much names but no worldclass (consistently)
5) why do some people think we will sell gourcuf .. he will be an idiot to ask to leave because he will rise in pecking order over seedorf who will be 32 next season ... i don't know...????

For the guys leaving, actually, there is no rumour ... except for Simic and Gilardino (and Dida). All the guys we said they could leave here are/were only the guys we personnally want to leave, nothing official.

So except Simic who is sure to leave, Oliveira who will be sold I think, and the rumours around Dida, Gila and Gourcuff, no other guy seems to leave this summer.

So if you add Flamini, we'll have: Pirlo-Gattuso/Ambro/Flamini-Gourcuff-Brocchi-Emerson, 7 players for 3 places, one of them can be sold.

Then, you can cancel Ronaldo's return, I don't think they will allow that ...

And for Gourcuff hishamilan, actually, the fact there is rumours with Ronaldinho means that Ancelotti/management doesn't think he is enough good to be a starter ... so even if Seedorf starts to be on the bench, you'll see a new purchase (a guy like Montolivo, Diego, Ronaldinho or Rosina) or nothing but a formation change (4-3-2-1 => 4-3-1-2, could explain all these rumours about all these strikers).

Yes, does seem there are some mistranslations. Still, I would say his tone has completely changed from a few days ago.

as for the £55,000 a week, it's possibly true, but if the mirror is the source it's no better than places like goal.com

Wages and taxes etc all add up. Galliani also blames the shareholders apparently forcing him to renew Dida and adhere to Cafu, Serginho's, Emerson's and Favalli's wishes.

Staying on this topic. Galliani talking about selling Kaka for 55m is simply an example. We'd be stupid to sell Kaka when if we wanted to balance the books by selling we could sell the numerous players we own but do little for us.

i havent seen a single romour saying Gila is leaving or will be sold

and Dida is better than Amelia?

i agree, Dida was better, but now he is just awful, even Kalac is better than Dida...

i mostly watch Amelia in Italy's friendlies, and there, tbh, he was amazing..

a bad season for Livorno doesnt mean he is a bad GK..

and Pato, Sheva, Inzaghi, Ronaldo are not world class??
