Drogba's gone back to falling over alot and arguing with everyone (the free-kick against Man Utd where he argued with Ballack like a sulky kid springs to mind), which is a pity because he had a period where he just got on with things and that was when he was most dangerous. If we get that focused Drogba then that's great, if we get the sulky monster then we're better off with someone else.

Drogpa has crappy personality because in the past he was the center of argument after Mourinho left, he cried out loud like a child and threaten to leave and follow Mourinho - his "father", which caused problems in the whole team. I consider it as immaturity because when your girlfriend break up with you, it's not nesscessary to want anything to get the love back, because you still have a life to live.. this is similar to Drogpa 's situation when Mou left.

And plus, as Jim_UK mentioned, he argued with Ballack to have the freekick (which was wide above the goal). This is just childish and stupid, as he thought he has better technical skill than Ballack, who was chosen by the team and coach to take Chelski freekicks. Just imagine if he would argue with our Pirlo to take freekick, you will see the scenario.

I'd like to backup someone's theory when saying he's a typical EPL striker. Yes he is. He can't dribble. He can only use his strength and pace to keep the ball. That's why I call him a striker, not a forward. A forward is more like Pato, who can run down the flanks, dribbling past some player, and even crossing. However I think Milan needs this kind of "muscle" player, because we simply look weak and fragile in the front with pre-mature Pato and "glassy" Inzaghi.

I don't know about Toni but I heard he's a strong striker. But I don't care if he can do anything else than scoring. If he can score a lot and not being able to do anything else (such as running down the flanks, creating chances...), than I will get him. Isn't scoring what we expect in a striker?

guys com'on it unnegotiable that drogba has potential ... the guy gets stronger each year ... i swear he threw carragher away 4 meters with his shoulder ... his finishing is freaky and exactly like gio said we need that ego and pride of a bully to fight with the defenders like matrix .... i would welcome him anytime...

Payne, Ba was brought back as a favor to an ex-player, player who probably needed a buck or two, and to keep Gourcuff company...another Frenchman (and ex-Milan player) to help him adjust to life in a big club, and the Serie A.

He has never been named in a squad, not even for a Coppa match, nor will he be.

Simply a chaperone for Gorky, and a player for training matches.

That particular freekick ended with an amazing save by Van de Saar so it was not "wide above the goal" at all.

Drogba is an amazing striker, a different league than Gilardino and today's Inzaghi.

Drogba is 30 years old now, which means he will have 2 or 3 years of good football in the future. Like Trezeguet has in Juve. Drogba is a super powerfull striker that Carlo Ancelotti wants, and he can also play in pretty deep roles, can pass, cross, shoot from outside...can run for 90 min and is built like a boxer! Im sure he is a perfect solution for uor attack.

I can't believe we are even debating on whether Drogba is Milan quality. The guy is a proven scorer and he will be even better in Milan, also makes his teammates better.

Sheva's tenure in Milan is over, we got the best out of him and he got glory, money and recognition. The timing to sell him was perfect. His best days are over, while Drogba is at the peak of his career more mature than ever.

The difference with our mgmt and those of say, some of the english clubs, is that we r more vocal about our big signings, while the english clubs try to keep everything top secret until negotiations are well advanced...its tough to be patient at this time of year, but IMO, patience is the most valuable commodity to have during the summer!

I think you are absolutely right about the fact that it is important to be patient in the market, but being over patient could also hurt our chances. We were patient in finding Shevchenko's replacement and end up missing out on every single good option available and ended up having to sign Oliveira. When it's time to get the job done, we shouldn't hesitate on it. Anyway, I hope you are right about us only being patient for the right players.

Let me add that a winning dressing room is also made of good fellows, good atmosphere and friendship. Human resources aren't secondary for a winning formula, and nobody better than this board know how to win. I think Ba is one of those players that keep the group as positive as it is.
