No, I'm sorry but Fiorentina seems to have a good project ... and they want to reinforce their team to do something good in CL, but I presume it is to qualify again for the next CL too.
If Vargas comes alone, of course, it's a weird choice from him, but if they really buy Vargas, Barzagli, our Gilardino, etc, then it's not so stupid because this team could become one of the big in the next years.

And the only thing to hope is that they do it because that will increase Serie A level and attraction, and of course, more teams fighting in the domestic league means teams improving ...

If Fiorentina buys the guys whom they are linked with, I wouldn't be surprised if Juventus was out of the next Top 4 of Serie A for example !!

I really doubt Fio would make CL's spot next year even if they signed Vargas (I doubt he'd choose Fio), Barzagli (so overrated player IMO) and Gila (it means Frey'd come to us). If not because of Milan's inconsistency, Fio wouldnt get the CL spot this year. We were so bad (and inconsistent of course) this season in Serie A.

Only fighting in UEFA cup, it's alreay so hard for them to reach 4th spot. How could they concentrate more next season (while the opponents getting stronger) than this season in Serie A if the must play in Champions League? Juve should be better next year and so do Milan.

I'm not ok with that, I've always thought that UEFA Cup is more difficult than CL, I don't mean level is stronger, but physical issues are bigger, it's why I'd prefer that we don't play too seriously this boring european cup. There are more matches, and generally bigger travels: in CL, you often play against Spanish, English, French, German, ... clubs, in UEFA Cup, you add all the clubs from East Europe.

If all had been normal last year, with no penalities, Lazio wouldn't have been qualified in CL, it would have been Milan + Fiorentina, so mathematically without penalities, it would be their second spot in CL, but because of these penalities for them, they only played UEFA Cup.

If you want my current Top 4 for next year (could change with real mercato, for moment, I only care about some rumours): Milan 1st (lol of course), Inter 2nd, Roma 3rd, Fiorentina 4th, and Juventus fighting with Napoli for the 5th place.

I can see why people want to write Juve off for next year as DP and Nedved are a year older. However, with Trez wanting to prove his worth and Sissoko playing well along with a solid defense with Buffon, I will take Juve over Fio anyday. Ofcourse Juve did not play in Europe at all last year, but JUve is Juve, Moggi or not they still won more Series A than anyone in the league including us.

Juve faced with a 3 pronged battle front of Coppa, Serie A, and UCL, wont be the force they were this term, even with replacements...as a matter of fact, I would tip the Viola to finish ahead of them next season.

Both though ultimately will suffer, and I feel Milan will use a "B" or understrength team in the UEFA Cup, where applicable. Our focus will be on the Serie A.

Banega would be an excellent buy for us, but there is the nonEuro issue...or does he have some Italian or Spanish granparent some where?

I think Amauri, as others have said, is 98% Juve´s, and of Adebayor, Drogba, or Etoo, I would opt for the Arsenal player, because he is young, and not as hot headed or egotistical as the other two.

That's Fiorentinas problem. They want to win the UEFA and secure 4th place but without enough decent depth. And in CL, they must also want to win as the winner get much bonus money (except money for play). So again, how to choose the championship you want to focus.

I still believe in Juve's (big team) mentality. Juve wont fight for 5th spot against Napoli. If they have to fight spot, the lowest they'd fight is 4th spot. So, Fio should are the club who should be afraid of Juve to fight for 4th spot (if Juve are not ready to keep focus in Serie A and CL)

Juve will fight for the scudetto next year, they are always favorites for the title in Italy becouse - they are Juventus. With 3 or 4 good signings that they will made, Juve will be strong as hell. They will also insert few young players like De Caglie, Marchisio and so on...Giovinco!

Giovinco, Nedved, Camoranesi, Sissoko, Zanetti, X.Alonso ( as it looks ), Marchisio, Marchionni, Salihamidžić...Trez, Del Piero, Iaquinta, Amauri....Juve will play for scudetto believe me.

If Milan wants to play serious role we need serious players and not jokers like this year, we'll see.

We have serious players and our players are not jokers. We only need squad depth. You mix it up.

Couple of things Warro. Banega I doubt will be a target for Milan due to his bad reputation. He's known for his partying and has had a couple of scandals in his short career (one of him apparently pleasuring himself to porn or something being made public).

Adebayor is pretty well known for a little arrogance. I wouldn't say it's any worse that either Eto'o (who's just a little crazy anyway) or Drogba though.

Gourcuff is a joke? I dont agree mrki, the rest of them they are a joke but not Gourcuff who did not really get a chance to play.

gourcuff is a joke ... he thinks he is very technical and can do freaky stuff in the midfield ... he always talks that he is the succesor of zidane and he must not be benched ... well kid prove it ... he is selfish slow and non-competitive ... he might be good material but certainly not right now ...:p

I'm still not sure, but i think that top 3, not top 4 will be what the best teams in Italy will fight for.
I don't know if it's official yet, but only 3 teams from Spain, Italy and England will play CL from season 2009/2010.

With stronger Fiorentina and stronger Milan (not to forget Napoli who are investing a lot and already have a very good starting XI) it won't be as easy for Inter, Juve and Roma to get one of top 3 places, like they did this year.
It's bad news that one of the big 4 in Italy (Juve, Milan, Inter, Roma) will certainly miss out on CL.
But, like i said, i don't know if it's official or not.

P.S: What you expect for Juve, Geo Tav, i expect for Roma.
I think Roma will be the team that will start falling. They had their chance and now they can only go down. Totti is getting injured a lot, he'll be 33 next season and they don't invest in new players.

That's not what Galliani said. He said that if Gilardino leaves we will get 2 strikers. His language strongly suggests that Gila will leave.
