Even if he is put on sale, can we possibly compete with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd.?

That would be nice.

If you are good enough you are old or young enough to play, this goes for both extremely young and old players. The problem with age is that you lose your physical ability, some players sooner than others. With our lack of quality depth in our squad this was highlighted all too easily when our players tired quickly for playing too many games. That and a lack of hunger for winning....

Flam and Zam are two quality signings so far by the bald one, now if he could get us Frey, Zapata, Vargas (he's not gone yet right?) and a quality striker he's easily done better than he's done in the past 5 years. Alas though I'm disappointed by his comments about not wanting to spend much due to not being in CL...

Maybe Milan will try to sign Robinho if they decide Barca will not lower the price for ronaldinho, its possible. But I REALLy hope that Roinaldinho will end up in Milan, we need to do everything we can to make that happen. You cant forget how to play football and its obvious Dinho only needs two months of preparations and he'll be playing well again. And when he plays well you can defend all you want, it wont help

Also my fear is that we will not sign another GK and that would be simply a huge mistake.

Fiori is finally gone, praise the Lord above. Having Kalac and Abbiati on the roster, though, is a head-thumper in itself.

Please, no Robinho. He would not fit into this system.

Sure they have more money(or intention) to spend, but when the subject is brazilian players, I have no doubt about this, vivardo. One thing about Milan that we sometimes overlook, is the way we handle our internal situations and our relationship with players.

Robinho had his best season at R. Madrid this year, until the abdominal injure. He was playing at a golden Ball (candidate)level until that, and after he fail to recover fast, and had a drop of form, sundely all he did until the injure was forgotten. And what R. Madrid managment did to protect the player, nothing!! Remember when Kaká had his worst form as a Milan player in his second season? The press was all over him, and the first thing our managment(and veteran players) did was to go to the press and support our(at that time) future star. Also speaking of future contract extension...

Using spanish clubs as example, it is well know the Madrid(Barįa also) managment(and some veteran players) intentionally filter histories of the locker room(some real, some false) and just put in the press creating a Real havoc. Curious is that in all dirty histories the players doing wrong are always the foreingers. You just donīt see this in our club...our veterans core consist of the likeīs of Maldini, Nesta, Ambrosini, Cafu, Gatuso...real HIGH character persons, and our managment(liking our transfer politics or not) always act as gentlemen and real professionals. This "Milan is a Family" and "locker room code" thing isnīt B.S. and is well know here in Brazil. Itīs not coincidence Ronaldinho said it is Milan or nothing, is Milan or he stays in Barcelona.

Look, we just finished 5š in Serie A, out of the CL and our club arenīt in a crise...unbelievble!!! Pato had proposals of R. Madrid and Chelsea, but chose us...and most of this can be explained by the way we treat Ronaldo(Patoīs idol) and our foreigners players. I remember several quotes of Ronaldo here in Brazil saying to Pato to come to our club, that here he would have a great and stabilized environment to grow as a player and person unlike other places...and this my MM friends, the way our Milan are seen in Brazil and around the world, makes me so proud as when we win the titles.

LOL, what a big post...all this to say: Yep, if Milan REALLY WANTS a brazilian player, no Club in the world can compet with us...and itīs not like we pay low wages also

GREAT POST!!

Are there any news in Brasil about Ronaldinho and Milan? And how did Pato do against Canada?

Striker: We have to buy a top-quality striker. We have to. Pato is great, there is no doubt about it. I hope that he'll become the next shevchenko, if he is not one already. But he needs to be more tactically savvy; right now he is still not tactically apt; We already see it in the game we played against Inter Milan for the last 15minutes. Borriello... I mean... honestly?

We need one top-quality striker. NOW.

***

Just like Kris said in another thread, we need a DC who is world-class, NOW. I share with Kris's idea, becuase with Nesta + Kaladze + Kalac/Dida, it doesn't sound safe. Kaladze has on and off, and Nesta is more injury-prone than before; he also made mistakes that he would never have made in the past.

How to build a winning team? Start with the defense first. We need at least 2 more defenders who can fill Nesta or Maldini. Zambrotta reinforces the side, but we have issues with DC, as well.

**** Midfield: FLamini is an excellent signing, that's all I can say now. But who's next? I really prefer an AMC who can sub Kaka once for a while and rotate. Otherwise Kaka is just going to burn out physically and emotionally at the end. We need one AMC who can also sub his (and Seedorf?) role, soon.

Here we need at least three players. Three more players and I will feel better...

Oh well... how about GK? *sigh*....
Iīm quoting all your post today, moderator
Great post!!
99% of the people worries here in MM are about our striker situation, but imo DEFENCE are the wrost problem we have right now. You summarized perfectly our situation...glad with Zambro purchase, now we need a W. Class Cb and a squad(but good) one...

We conceded more goals than the normal against average Serie A teams last season, and I expect more if nothing will be made...

Yes, Jeff you are right. And I think our problems could be solved by Zapata and ronaldinho, who will fill up the team perfectly. We also need tohave in mind that Oddo and MArek are now over 30 and are injury prone and that SeedorfCANNOT play more then 20 games per season at high level. There fore one more fullback is needed also.

It sounds too much but we really do need another 4 or 5 good players.

Thanks, mrki
Some reliable people of the press in Brazil said that history about " Milan or nothing", so I believ itīs true...sure, since Laporta just shows the door for Ronaldinho, he can goes to another club. But all I heard is Milan is the place R10 wants to go if he canīt stay in Barcelona.

The problem is the price Barįa are asking...since Ronaldinho is really with "some problems" with the night and parties(sad, but itīs true), I understand we donīt want to pay so much for him. The talent is there, no doubt, but iīm starting to doubt about Ronaldinhoīs will and hungry to reach his level again...

Regarding Pato, didnīt have much time since Dunga put him more to the end of game, the team also was changed a lot.

Couldnīt agree more, mrki...
Our defence is injure prone, and we need at least one more fullback...but as I said, also 2 Cb.

Sorry, Koeke...Iīm not reading MM as I want, so I must have lost your post(and of the others). Itīs just the majority of the post only talk about the foward situation. Glad to see more people are worried about our defense situation also ...
