To refresh memory lol: Aulas said not at less than 50M for Essien, he sold him 40M + some optionnal amounts (you know, the ones for example, if Essien plays more than X matches, if Essien plays in Ghana team, etc).

For Diarra, Aulas said "nothing at less than 35M", he sold him at 27M ...

So Aulas said 60M for Benzema, don't try at less than 50M ...

I really don't see a point in this Benzema's discussion, as we all know Milan will never break the bank to sign him. NOt b/c he is not talented enough, it is just that he costs too much.

Since we have been linked once with him, there's always a possibility, even if very small ... so now you see the point in that discussion about Benzema !!

PS: If we had to speak only about guys we are linked with and with a huge possibility to coming to Milan with financial criterias, some of us couldn't post reports about players in their country ... and it would be a shame because we're all curious about the next stars of football, even if they don't come to Milan !!

totally agree.

I read on fcitalia.com that we are linked to Mancini of Roma. He is a talanted player for sure, and would be the winger we're missing. In his early career at Roma they played him RB, and was Cafu's hier.. maybe he can do so here as well .. have no idea what his pricing would be like.
As for Abate, he is certainly a skilled and good player. Having him on the bench would be great.

I understand ur pts, and I respect that!!!

As for Mancini, I really think if we cannot land R10, Mancini will be the player that we will really go after as in some ways they play the same position.

I refuse to believe that unless it is official, having said that I really don't think we deserve CL

When is the last time Milan surprised us with a signing. We are the worst club in the world at keeping secrets. We hear about the players for weeks and even months while Galliani denies it. Then all of a sudden they are milan players.

It has been the case with Zambrotta, Fabregas, Oddo, Vogel, Dhorosso and even Olivera who was a panic buy. Far from having pleasnt surprises, we have

To predict who we will sign usually means the players we are most linked with. At the moment the strongest possibilties are Etoo/$heva and Ronaldhinio.

The encouraging thing is we arent heavily linked with any defenders so hopefully Milan will wait for the big clubs to start shopping at the euro championships while we pick up Zapata. I have a feeling they will use the same tactic with the goal keeper and hope clubs get distracted by goalies playing in the games.

The article says that the Bulgarian FA is going to ask UEFA to exclude CSKA Sofia, that does not make sense to me, because it is the FA who decides who goes to the CL. The article also claims that it is Milan who will get their spot and not the third in the Bulgarian Championship (which I don't agree with).

The only time an FA had 5 teams was in the 2005/2006 season, that is when Liverpool won the CL and achieved 5th place in the league..however the following season in the CL they did not represent England, they were in the tournament as the Title Holders. When the draws were made, usually the teams say Chelsea (ENG), AC Milan (ITA)...Liverpool had (Holders) instead.

So I don't think Milan will enter the tournament with (BUL) nor will they use (Holders).. This is just a nice topic to sell papers. This is my take on this situation.
You are right.

I wrote this in another topic but here it is again :

The author of the article is using the old UEFA rules for his theory.
After what happened with Liverpool in 2005, UEFA took all the measures to stop the same thing happening in the future.
Now with the new UEFA rules it's not possible for a certain association to have more than 4 teams in CL.

Here you can read the new CL rules, and i'll quote the 2 rules that prevent Milan from taking the spot of another association :
http://www.uefa.com/newsfiles/19071.pdf

1.01 - UEFA member associations may enter a certain number of clubs for the competition in accordance with their position in coefficient rankings in Annex la, drawn up in accordance with Annex II of these regulations. However, no association may enter more than four clubs.

1.07
A club which is not admitted to the competition shall be replaced by the next best-placed club in the top domestic league championship of the same national association , provided it fulfils the admission criteria. In this case, the access list to the UEFA Club competitions (annex la) will be adjusted accordingly.

So I guess there is that about CL, unless UEFA changes their rules again.

Anyhow, is Maggio in Milan yet, as we particularly gave Sammarco away to Samp for close to nothing.
