Just to set the record straight...I never said I wanted to get rid of Seedorf, I'd just like to see R10 brought in as Seedorf can't handle the rigors of full season.

As for Ronaldinho being a risk, so is every player. Gila was supposed to be a sure thing when we brought in from Parma, we all know how that story ended.

Ronaldinho is a risk, but just like the stock market you invest in a stock when it's low and you think it has bottomed out. That's what management is trying to do now.

When it comes to our striker position, we need a clean up, finish up man to just slot home all those chances our midfield will be creating. Big in the box, strong, good in the air.

IMO this describes Drogba, but Berbatov would probably the best pick-up. I haven't seen enough of Gomez but look forward to seeing him a lot in the Euros.

Just not Adebayor!!!

To Vulli - Your list and mine are very similar, and have a chance of happening minus the keeper.

Even though Seerdorf is getting on in years, he still has a lot to offer Milan. He might not be as fast as he used to be, but when he is on form his vision, reading of the game, passing and shooting is as good as any other WC player in the same role/position.

If we play 4-3-1-2 then he is ideal to rotate with Kaka or to play behind the 2 fwds if Kaka is pushed further up field.

Milan would never sell Pirlo until he is atleast 35yrs old or he chooses to leave because he is unhappy etc.

Nesta,Pirlo,Kaka and now Pato are the spine of our team. Break the spine and u know the rest.

Milan would be silly to sell Paloschi, especially with the 6+5 rule coming into play in the future. Loaning Paloschi out would give him more game time in serie-a, however I would prefer to see him stay and get used in the copa and uefa cup games so that he gets used playing in the side.

On the topic of forwards, awhile ago there was an article on channel4 I think where Kaka mentioned something about him playing as the support striker next season, instead of his usual position?

Any thoughts on this?

I think this could work. Isn't that where he was playing the last several games of this season...just behind Inzaghi and it worked out well.

And I watched just about every single Barca game. And while he wasn't as breath-taking as in the two or three season before that, he still pretty much carried Barcelona (who were missing Messi and especially Eto'o much of the season) scoring more than ever before - even if some of his goals were penalties. This season he's been a mere shadow of his former self - one can't deny that - yet imo he's outshone Henry when playing.

Wether or not we should sign Ronnie depends on the formation next season. If we play 4-3-1-2 then we'd do better signing a striker (I still favour Gómez). But if we use a 4-3-2-1 line-up or even 4-2-3-1 (as mentioned a while back we might), then Ronaldinho is an ideal signing for us. I think moving to Serie A with it's slightly slower style would suit him and while I doubt he'll be as good as three years ago, he can certainly be world-class once again.
Huh? Ronaldinho carried barca in 2006/07 with what? his fatty tummy?
http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/20...re_is_wei.html

You guys are fast to forget. His form was poor and he was dropped from the starting lineup under the excuse that he has an injury. Then all the nonsense about his fatty tummy, nightlife, missing training sessions......and it all started in 2006 after the world cup. His form has never pick up since then.

Even Messi who was injuried for 3 months that season was deemed a better player and rank higher in personal awards. If anybody carry barca that season, its Messi not ronaldinho. His form has dipped so much that barca is already considering selling him at the end of the season. And we all know how 2007/08 end for him.

If we got him for a good price then its still worth a try else i rather we go for other players on the way up. Gomez, Benzema are young players worth trying for.

If kaka played as a support striker then who would support him? Only seedorf is left to do the job which is not enough. I think its possible to do so in certain games but certainly not every game.

That's all I ever said.

I think he'll have something to prove this coming year.

And I don't think Barca wanted him out. He wants our of Barca is the way I've seen this soap opera developing.

Really this has to stop here.

1) Ronaldinho's dip is form is not that much but is heavily exaggerated by the media simply because when at his best he's unstoppable. They did the same thing to ronaldo at real where even though he was scoring a lot they crucified him for his weight gain and less dazzling displays

2)Ronaldinho is still the most talented player in the world atm. More than Kaka, Messi, CR7 etc. Each of the aforementioned might be better at him in one or two areas but Ronaldinho's arsenal is so complete and diverse that whn on form he stands above them all.

3)Ronaldinho scored 21 goals last season 06-07. Not a small tally especially as Eto'o, Messi, and for a while even Saviola was out injured. Scoring the penalties is almost irellevant...because Kaka scored penalties in the CL too and we are happy that he was top scorer. In that season Ronaldinho was seriously over-used as a winger, CAM, Support forward and as an out-and-out-striker. To say that Messi was better because of a couple of good games and a handful of fancy moves is laughable if not downright ridiculous. Messi since his first senior game has NEVER scored more than 14 goals and has never played more than 28 league games

4) If you think it's really his dip in form that has Barca eager to sell then I guess there's no point in continuing this discussion further. Kaka's form has dipped and so have many stars...some dips stretch acros seasons. It's purely a political and financial manouvere. How BAD could a player really be if he keeps a scoring ratio of almost 0.5 consistently

5) I agree with the gomez over Ronaldinho.....like sooooo many other players we are chasing...we don't NEEEEEEEDDD him. I'm not completely sold on Benzema. French strikers have a way of looking like Pele+Maradonna+Ronaldo incarnate in France then flopping really hard in a tougher league *cough*cough*henry*cisse*cough*cough. I won't mind seeing Benzema eleswhere....at least for a little while

what we REALLY NEED now is a powerful-big forward. Gomez, Adebayor, Drogba etc.
ronaldinho is not a need, but he would be welcome to join. we do however have a lack in AMF's, now that Gourcuff is out. Dunno if there are any other worthwhile or interesting players in that position, esp. one that can take a leading role.... we are linked to moutinho - but i dont think he is ready for a starting/rotation with seedorf spot on the team. Mancini from AS Roma would be an awesome buy, the price must be high though.
Tottenham bought Giovanni Dos Santos from barça.... (http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Calcio...ossantos.shtml) the article also says that this could make way for the sale of Berbatov.

WEll, Trez did pretty well in Italy and if Benzema is anything like Trez, then he is a better 40M buy then Adebayor. I am still not too sure about Adebayor as he really only has one good season in EPL. With the comments that Torres made, I think striker in EPL seems to have it easier than Series A.

As much as I am tired of saying it and I know Brasileiro will agree with me, I believe we're really limiting Kaka by playing him as a striker. Although his finishing is one of his best assets, I believe we're really restricting one of the other aspects of his game, his playmaking ability. It would be harder for him to dominate the game from the striker position as he may be isolated from the play. I think he could score just as many goals from the CAM position as from the SS position. Finally playing Kaka as a CAM saves us time/money looking for a proper #10 as don't believe Seedorf is consistent enough for such an important role.

I think he is more than ready to be in rotation. A starter, not yet, or only for smaller c\games like coppa, and some uefa cup, but he is definitely ready to come off the bench and provide a instant impact

Ronaldinho is in the lowest of his performance now. The lowest! He even couldnt compete with Dos Santos or Borjkick for 1 spot in forwad department (what ever the spelling) this season! Really afraid he is the next Rivaldo!

With all due respect I don't think I'm the one who's fast to forget. I'm pretty sure that when Ronaldinho was first benched in the fall of 2007, it was like the fifth time in his Barca-career, meaning he was hardly benched (if at all) in the 2006/07 season (which corresponds to my memory).

Also personal awards are hardly anything to go by when assessing a players performance (i.e. Frank Lampard 2005, Zidane 2006). And even then Ronaldinho finished above Messi in the 2006 Player of the Year (which was in the middle of the season in question = 06/07). The 2007 Player of the Year awards (Messi 2nd, Ronnie 5th) was influenced by both players performances in the preceding months, were Messi was the best in the world, and Ronnie was starting to falter.

Some might say this discussion is getting a bit irrelevant, but we are talking about a player heavily linked with us, plus I felt i had to respond once again.
