Borriello reminds me of Luca Toni... a bit of a late bloomer. Do not discredit him or cast him off. I'm also disgusted by the attitude of some people on here. We're having a great transfer season and are reshuffling our squad. I'm glad we stick to talented strong Italians. And I really don't see Inter, Real, Barca, Bayern or ManU doing anything special to be honest. What are those teams doing that Milan isn't? And as far as I'm concerned, Milan has been very active this transfer season cashing in on several lucrative deals like the selling of Oliveira to Real Zaragoza or Gilardino to Fiorentina. But in the same words, you bash Abbiati, Maggio and Antonini... almost doubting that they are not strong capable players. I bet you that they will perform well. I'm sure we will buy another striker... probably a big name too. And Galliani is making smart transfers... best bang for the buck and saving up money for one or two big transfers. Maggio is a terrific player and Abbiati is infinitely better than the absolute crud we have as goalkeepers. Zambrotta is certainly not washed up. He had a forgettable time at Barcelona, but for Italy he has really done the business. Things are different in Spain. I was talking to some Spaniards on another forum, and they both agreed that one of the main reasons Zambrotta did not flourish is because Spanish teams defend very differently to Italian teams. That is to say, their opinion, and I respect it because they are avid fans who watch nearly every game, is that had Barcelona defended well as a team, Zambo would have done very well. Such is the ethic in Italy. Zambrotta will, God willing, thrive in Italy. It's his natural habitat.
Notice that is not to say that Spanish teams do not defend well, but just differently than what Zambrotta is used to. |

Antonini not ready to carry heavy weight? Excuse me? The guy played for 5-6 years in 8 different teams and has proven himself very much so. It's no accident that Italians don't do all that well in Spain, and Spaniards don't do all that well in Italy. It's two different styles of play. |

[font="Tahoma"][quote=Giancarlo;495480]I think these criticisms are both fallacious and wrong. How is Zambrotta washed up? I'm sure if he plays with Italians again he'll be better... and he did demonstrate that in the one friendly. He's a superb player and he's a great acquirement. I was very happy that he was signed.

We have five players already coming into Milan. FIVE FANTASTIC players, and I have NO complaints about any of them. I hear we are opening transfer talks with Drogba... so what's that about not using the money? ![]() ![]() ![]() By the time we are done we will have 7-8 new players (or players brought back on loan) in Milan's squad. No question, this is one of the best transfer seasons I've seen for Milan in a long time. But I bet you're the same person who bashed Milan for acquiring Gattuso from Salernitana in 1999. AND excuse me for wanting more ITALIANS on our team. Last edited by Giancarlo; 08-06-2008 at 14:45. |

Do you remember what Bayern did last summer bought good players to have to stand and they also had hot prospects... Another player ? Moutigno , a player to come from the bench ... When the line ups will not play well you will bring in Antonini?.... I was fan of Abbiati before the shine of Dida but i got dissapointed by him both in our team and in Atletico... For anger !!..... Try to accept some joking life is short (Friends of Galliani)... :

Either way, Milan is bringing in great players and reinforcing the flanks. And Abbiati did great at Milan. No one should dispute that. His form at Atletico was indifferent... again, he's not suited for Atletico. He'll be great in Milan once again. Why do you some of you guys insist on whining about Milan's transfer season? what major transfers has inter done? Seriously... AC Milan jumped on this transfer season ahead of the curve. |

Read my previous post (mean insulting), Cafu maybe was the best RB the last 15 years in the world... but we need the new Cafu... Inter has Maicon... Which is your opinion about Sheva? I like Paloschi, i don't insult you, put more things in your profile.. ![]()

Compare the transfers of Inter and Milan the last tranfer periods and you will understand, we signed Emerson....
... i like tranfers like that one of Pato... you splashed the cash but we have a FW for 10 years...

I'm sure we will get another defender. But Zambrotta is definitely a superb defender to tighten up the back. And as far as a big FW signing goes... wait. Have patience. That will come. We reinforced the squad big time already... but the major signing or two will come later on. We will then contest the Scudetto with this rejuvenated squad. No less. |

Giancarlo had some really good points, but I have to say that Milan needs a new GK after all.
Boruc is the only onrmal option and I think he can play for Milan with sucess, and that he is better player then Abbiatti as well. Abbiatti will be a risk again, and firm defence needs firm GK who has confidence, Boruc is the man for us right now. We should invest in him. There is no point of having Dida in our squad anymore paying him 4 mln per season. But, realistic question - How good Maggio really is? He had a good season, but how Good is he? I know you will understan the question Giancarlo. And I also agree Zambrotta will play on absolute world class level next year for us.
