Yes that's classy. REALLY CLASSY. Milan got on the transfer season faster than anyone else and is spending the way they should be.

Now I'm off. In the mean time, learn a few things about logic. And stop being ignorant. Gattuso came from a small team. Many of our other stars came from small teams at one point...

So your point?
ok on my free sunday and since you have intention to argue let's give it a go (although i think you should really spend your time on the sunshine beaches in calif )

"You in other words can't support the fact that the other four players (other than Flamini) are crap... because they ARE NOT. Borriello is a late bloomer just like Luca Toni. "

I said I didn't want to use all the already-said argument here because it's a waste of time to use them to explain to people like yourself, meaning that after reading all the reasons of many people here who don't agree with our transfer. It is because you just simply and blindly support whatever the management do without questioning or at least wondering.

I don't need to give out every reason to convince you who cannot be convinced anyway, because it's clearly to see how those players played in last season, and how one can fit into our system in the past. Since you think i can't support my logic, why don't YOU try to convince me that they ARE NOT crap? And do you care to prove your theory that Bori (25) is a late boomer as Toni (31)?

About Antonini, if he's good, why don't other clubs look for him and why he had to spend years in loan to other club? Another late boomer lolz? Oh, I found Mr.X in Brazil, nobody knows about him and I claim that he is classyyyy, and I don't need to prove it, you guys have to prove that he is not crap lolz

Do I make any sense up to your logic theory?

Borriello reminds me of Luca Toni... a bit of a late bloomer. Do not discredit him or cast him off.

I'm also disgusted by the attitude of some people on here. We're having a great transfer season and are reshuffling our squad. I'm glad we stick to talented strong Italians. And I really don't see Inter, Real, Barca, Bayern or ManU doing anything special to be honest. What are those teams doing that Milan isn't? And as far as I'm concerned, Milan has been very active this transfer season cashing in on several lucrative deals like the selling of Oliveira to Real Zaragoza or Gilardino to Fiorentina.

But in the same words, you bash Abbiati, Maggio and Antonini... almost doubting that they are not strong capable players. I bet you that they will perform well.

I'm sure we will buy another striker... probably a big name too. And Galliani is making smart transfers... best bang for the buck and saving up money for one or two big transfers.
I'm not bashing the players per se but you need to understand that as hard as a Frank Lampard will try he WLL NEVER be a Ronaldinho. I haven't seen him much but I'm willing to bet that Maggio WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD as ALves, Clichy, Ashley Cole etc etc. If he was the Inters, the Juves, the Real Madrids etc.

Abbiatti wasn't good enough to be our #1 waaay back whenever...how come he is now

Again I don't doubt that they will play well but when you're at a top club and fighting for trophies "playing well" isn't enough. You need to be special....these players are NOT special let alone world class. Players from any pub team are often good players. If you view Milan as an average team then find......keep buying joe nobody and his dog.

As for your optimism that we will get a big name....we have been hearing that SAME story for sometime now......hope you're right

Finally how are our transfers smart? To me is you spend huge upfront and have a better chance of doing well and reap the financial rewards/ trophies and enhance the BRAND of Milan....it's FAR better than buying a bunch of cheap, average/$#!t players and having average to sh!t results and having to replace them quickly as was the case with Oddo and Favalli

Essentially, looks like Vargas definitely won't come. More so my fear is the thought in the club is right now that Zambro will be RB and Janku LB. I much rather hope to see Bonera on the right and Zambro down the left.

When did we ever really play Sheva-Rui-Kaka?

I just hope MIlan will sign at least two more players, one in defense and one in attack. Not the most ideal scenario, but that I will consider a successful campaign.

Look, it's obvious that our transfer strategy is changing. What other teams (Barca, Real, Man Utd, Chelsea) are doing today was what we were doing years ago, i.e. splashing out big transfer fees for so-called big players and not really winning much on the field.

Look at the players Barca bought last year, and what did they win this year? Madrid have been spending like crazy over the last 2-3 years, have they gone anywhere in Europe? Look at our cousins Inter, almost blowing the serie A title despite spending. What about Juventus' signings last summer---were Thiago, Almiron, etc a success?

Forget the big players. What we need to concentrate on are the up and coming players with the potential to gel into our team and develop into world class players. These players cost less, contribute more, and go on to become legends. Zambro is a superb buy, although I dont see him as a long term solution. Abbiati, I'm not too sure about. Boriello may very well explode next season, why not give him a chance? He scored more than our over-hyped, over-expensive Gilardino last season. Flamini is top class. I think so far we have not done too badly in the mercato..Now only with Galliani would stop talking so much and sign the striker he's been promising us

I understand your point, payne(and agree with the rotational system)...but my point is: This players wants to be a starter in the most important games of the season.

Itīs like the problem I read in a Alex interview(in Brazil) about his situation at Chelsea right now. Heīs happy with the club, city and teammates...but not with his game situation. As he said, after to play great in all the games of that England Cup(sorry, I canīt remember the name), he was take out for J. Terry to play the final...as Alex said, he understood the coach choice since J. Terry is the captain and a legend in Chelsea, but that he wants to play the BIG games and guarantee his place at Brazil NT...

This is the problem I see in Moutinho situation...after won a Portugalīs starter job, I canīt to see him accepting a "Alex situation" at Milan...sure, as you said, he can get play time in a 4-3-2-1 scheme, but I have my doubt he will accept this role if another big club aproach him...but itīs just my opinion.

Well it was not my intention to argue on this beautiful sunday, as I was out most of the day. But let me give it a go before I head out to Santa Monica on this sunny day.

I'm going to agree to disagree. I obviously think we are on the right track when it comes to signings. I hear we are nearing a deal for Christian Maggio and we beat out Napoli to it. Either way, these are great players and I've seen them play in person. I don't blindly support anything. I think about things and I come to my own conclusions. You're just being very arrogant here, and in your face... without realizing the true value of the players that have been bought.

That's your own mistake, not mine and I will not adopt your mistakes as my own.

Your logic simply doesn't add up. I have proven my theory. You on the other hand have proven nothing. I highly doubt you have even seen Milan play in person. Now you're making this personal. You clearly won't use your mind when it comes to acquirement.

It isn't about who spends the most money on who ever. Certainly there have been huge flops with lots of money spent. You're just so delusional you convinced yourself that by spending tons and tons of money we can get a great team. No... it simply does not work that way. I'd rather get someone who plays for heart and passion then some jerk who plays for the money, like Adebayor!

Antonini is great, and better than Brocchi. You just don't get it do you? He's not going to be a full time player. He'll be a substitute, and go out when we need new legs on the field. That's how Serginho oftened work towards the end of his career. You don't prove anything frankly, and not only that you're both arrogant and ignorant.

Your logic is nonsense.

I don't care for the Ronaldinho of 2005. I care for the Ronaldinho of today. He's not Milan material. He's frankly Manchester City or perhaps Lazio material if he were to come to Italy. He's not as good, nor will he ever be as good as he once was. His prime was a long time ago.

Quote:

Abbiatti wasn't good enough to be our #1 waaay back whenever...how come he is now
Because maybe somebody gets better over time... you know... a player gains experience as he ages... unless he is struck by constant partying and injuries like Ronaldinho.

Who is to say these players are not special or world class? I feel that they can. They are not pub team players. I'm not telling people to buy "joe nobody". Who the hell gives a damn about names? NAMES DID NOT GET BARCA ANYWHERE. Big names like Henry, Messi, or what-not... NONE of those players could get the ball in the net when it came to that game against Manchester United.

If you're gonna sit here for a damn minute and tell me that we need BIG NAMES because we need to become a bordello for players, then I'm going to sit here and DISAGREE WITH YOU. Even the biggest stars in Milan had humble beginnings. You're just simply saying since you don't know someone they are garbage and not worth the time... or they are from a pub team.

Oh I guess that Giovinco, Abate, Dossena, etc... are garbage because you've never heard of them.

How are these cheap or average players? You're ridiculous. These aren't bad players. I mean come on... you're gonna try to say that these players we are acquiring are bad like Oddo and Favalli? You're actually going to sit here and tell me that? I highly doubt you have EVER seen any of them play.

By the way Favalli came from Inter and he was old as it is, not young like Antonini.

It's not about the BIG NAME rubbish... it's about playing DAMN WELL. BECAUSE I'VE SEEN A BIG NAME BS CLUB CALLED BARCELONA have a two goal advantage, and LOSE TO A NO-NAME TEAM LIKE REAL MALLORCA.

It seems that your logic is faulty. I don't want Milan to become a Barcelona. Not now, and not in a million years. I want Milan to promote Italians especially so we can contribute positively to the national team, as well as seek club glory.

Remember... there was a little known striker back in the 1980s called Paolo Rossi... but I think you assume he's garbage too! Yeah he played for Vicenza and Perugia... what did that small team striker do? Oh... he struck a HAT TRICK AGAINST BRAZIL, and BASICALLY LED ITALY TO ITS 1982 WORLD CUP.

Some of you so called fans have such little respect for Italians. It's almost shocking.

The fact is Gila scored more goals than Boriello before both came to Milan. The fact is both players played for a small club and was central figure in forward before came to Milan.

Of course, Gattuso when came to Milan was NOT fantastic player. He was awful regarding football's skills! Luckily he HAD great spirit to run, run and run to catch the ball from the opponents. He couldn't even pass appropriately. I am talking about situation in a certain time.

I know what I am talking about. We are talking about a player that has not yet proved that he is fantastic player. What are your reasons that he is fantastic player?

We are talking about NOW condition, not 100 years later's condition.

Yes Tony29, thats what I watched from last night's game.

But I am still optimistic about him. He scored 19 goals and 3 assist from 25 appearences this year. This year is his third season to play in Bundesliga to play more than 10 games in Bundesliga. Last year he made 14 goals, 7 assists from 25 appearences. Two years ago he only made 6 goals, 3 assists from 30 games (I dont know if he was starter or not). So he keeps improving from year to year.

And I also have to remember he is still (almost) 23 years old. I will watch more games from him.

thank you for your fierce comment. it really entertains me when i read it. it proves that ppl on this forum are eager to debate and protect what they believe about milan which is kinda interesting.

ok, back to topic. first how many times i have to tell you that i don't want to prove and win anything here. we are discussing about the future based on the past so ppl have different opinions and use facts in the past to backup their options. it is transparent that we can't win or lose someone here because there is no judgment for our statements until the end of the next season. that's what i meant.

and i dont want to make this personal either. i see that you're new here. if you read my posts before the date you joined, you wouldnt say such things.

you're right that i haven't seen milan players play in person, but just on tv. fine, that makes you have advantage on your arguments, but it doesn't mean you're right and ppl will have to listen to you. if you are a little more experienced with forum debates, you will realize that different ppl have different opinions and by joining an internet forum you already agreed to respect other's.

you can give out fact a, b, c or whatever fact you know but again, if ppl don't agree with you, there's nothing else you can do. it is the nature of the internet that you can't "win" anyone here, so just relax, read their opinions and think why they think so before saying they are wrong. that's what i do in this forum. i find different ideas and opnions around the world about milan which i can never have if i just lock myself with my own thoughts, which is the main reason i wander here. when i said "they are crap" i meant to make fun of the management not being able to open their check book to sign better players. i didn't mean to say your opinions are wrong (i didn't know who you are either before i posted that), or the player's personality is crap, or their quality is crap, because when i say so i think, maybe they can play well with other small team, but not milan. milan needs world class players.

and to correct your thought/assumption about me thinking spending tons of money will bring success. no, i have never absorbed that thought. in fact i think chelski and real are pretty stupid spending lots of money yet the return cant compensate (enough) for that.

about antonini, i don't know him but i know that vargas is currently the best left back in serie a, but we don't sign the best one, just the "ok" want because we want cheap. and cheap has its quality. that says our team lacks of ambition because if you are ambitious, you will go for the best, and vargas is already proven.

so dude, don't take anything too personal in here. it's just for fun. if you want me to say it out loud your logic is right, fine, you logic is right and you win, so what? what do you get from that?

Pretty interesting arguments over the past days. Too bad I missed it.
Anyhow, I still beleive Antonini is a good signing, not saying he will be the next so and so but a solid signing that we need for our squad. As for Vargas, I think if u read my posts here, you will know that I am probably his biggest fan and love for him to play for Milan. But it seems unlikely that he is coming, which is sad. Well, maybe he will end up in Milan as it seems the Viola deal is being delay.

As for Borriello, I would not discard him as I think he really proved himself last season and he could be a good contributor, at least better than R99 and Gila last season, so to me thats an upgrade.

Abbiati is a sure upgrade over Dida and Kalac and I actually rate him better than Amelia. Have not seen enough of Boruc and Lloris to make comment.

Flamini is a huge upgrade for Gourcuff/Emerson and Brocchi combine together.

Zambro is also an upgrade for the little use Cafu.

Overall, I believe Milan is doing well sofar in this transfer season, as the players that bought in are all upgrade for the players that left. Ofcourse those players that left may not be great to begin with but at least as of now, our team does look stronger than last year, right.

Just waiting for the Zapata, R10 and Drogba signings and then I can head to the Olympics game and really enjoy the exp there and not to worry about Milan's transfer.
