I sincerely hope Galliani is joking becouse if he is not then we are sad mercato bunch. One great forward cannot fix what needs to be fixed in Milan, we need more.
Well, off to see Spain...

I think our striker signing wont matter too much without an improvement of service. Althoguh gilardino is not a great striker, I do think he was hurt by the service. The xmas tree formation w/ kaka and seedorf is not very dynamic.
It worked in the champions league 2 years ago against celtic, a free falling bayern, a defensively injured manutd, and liverpool. It does not work against small and midlevel clubs, which was our downfall this year. Results against juve, inter are always great...but you win league by beating atalanta, napoli etc etc To do this you need to attack more, and break them down as majority of them largely sit back play for draw etc. (I'm going to divide this up into parts so its easier to reaspond to) 1) I think we are more dynamic with 2 strikers upfront, kaka behind them, seedorf in midfield (sorry if he doesnt like it), then pirlo and a defensive influence. and since we dont play with wings, 2 dynamic wingbacks are a much. Zambrotta was a good signing, his only knock would be age. Maggio could be good, I would prefer Vargas though and moving zambro to right. Geez even though he's getting old and a former interista Grosso would be nice 2) Next to midfield. Kaka gets marked hard and teams attempt to hurt him. Pirlo gets overworked. Seedorf is 32 and not getting younger or faster. I think we need another creative mid to rotate. I push for joao moutinho. A young deco like player (although I think he is better than deco at that age). And he is versitile. As adepth at playing deep lying as attacking. He could surely get enough games between the 3. 3) Finally uptop....Gomez is ok, i jsut dont see him as much different than gilardino, maybe hes more headstrong but more or less same big bumbling forward who is not very technical....aka boriello. So with our last striker signing I want someone more dynamic. My number one choice is Berbatov. He is 27 (older than i'd like) but how many cf's get 20+ goals and 10+ assists. He is a large attacking presense (6ft2) strong, but equally skilled enough to pass it off. Look him up on youtube, you will see he scores a WIDE array of goals. I really dont know how else to say it, but i just think his style fits ours. Eto'o would not be bad as he has a different game to boriello, pippo and pato, so we would have variety. Other Strikers I like are Huntelaar, fabio quagliarella and possibly benzema (although I think he might be a tad overrated) (Ideally I'd like to turn and sell boriello for quagliarella and sign berbatov... but i'm trying to be realistic) 4) Finally last signing I think we still need to make is CB depth. Nesta is 32, Kalatze is 30 and error prone. Maldini is 40, and I prefer Bonera at RB than center. I would like to see a talented young CB come in and learn from nesta and maldini. Perhaps Canini? I LOVE Santacroce from napoli (Half italian/brazilian...aka perfect fit). Zapata from udinese is also very talented although I dont think they will sell him. \ I think we make these 4 additional moves. we JUST might have squad depth necessary to seriously challenge for serie A |

Or to make it simple we need to invest in modern and young and fast footballers who are capable of playing at the level of modern football. We lost Torres ( Gattuso said that Milan thought he cannot play at the highest level...nice! ), Sneijder ( brilliant player!¨) and so on...
Villa, Benzema, Aquilani, Dessena, Cigarini, Masri, Diego... Yesterday I think you all saw that Seedorf acually has no place in Holland starting 11. New kind are here and they run 3 times Seedorf, Milan also needs to do that.

david villa, ineiesta, torres, ramos, the are all runing over and around russia. Spain's defense is weak, but offensively, there unstoppable, the first goal, akinfeev coudnt have done ntn to stop, the second, however, i think he could have done a little more, but it was still a great run by villa.

why do we keep thinking that we know more about football, players, transfer deals than Galliani?
I guess we know we don't, but we just like to have fun pretending we do...

You make a lot of good points... But anyways... what's the story about Christian Maggio and his rumored transfer to Milan? I know he's an inter fan... but it appears this is coming closer to reality... |

From what I see Milan is having a pretty active transfer season... getting lots of excellent talent (notice: yes I'm using that word "excellent" again, it's my opinion and if you don't agree, I respect you). |

Good point...but I guess we sometimes wonder if he's keeping up with the evolution of modern football or if he's trying to force feed the old way to get results
