Kool aid? Keep up the insults and non-productive attitude. I never said our management was infalliable, and Emerson is proof of that (that was a crappy acquistion!).

Some of you people really hate opposing opinions don't you?

LOL whatever. I need to go get my laptop from the repair shop.

My obsession? I don't understand your obsession with twisting my words around. I just suggested a non-Italian keeper... the 2nd choice Polish keeper, Fabianski... he may be cheaper than Boruc and he's also 5 years younger, but I guess that's something that went past your head.
He may be cheaper and younger but he obviously isn't better, is he ? Why would Boruc be the first choice otherwise ? Fabianski is the 4th choice keeper for Poland but due to Kuzcak's injury he gets to be the 3rd choice.

Amelia is also cheaper and younger than Buffon.

Then again, i don't really care if Milan fans want Boruc or not so i'm stopping this discussion here.

I don't know what more Giancarlo wants from Boruc to be honest. Boruc is 28, a great keeper and most importantly is CONSISTENT. Like Giovanni said sometime in the year consistency is what you want from your keeper. A consistently good keeper is better than a keeper who plays excellent 30% of the time and crap the other 70 %. He also has an EU passport...what more can one ask for ? If we're not gonna pay 10 mil for a guy who can be our starting keeper for an eternity then...I really don't know what's going on.

EDIT: What's going on with Gomez btw ? I'll admit I haven't watched all 180 minutes of Germany's games but from the little I saw vs. Croatia he was pretty crappy. I'm assuming that's not his normal level but has he really been this bad in Euro '08 or have I only caught him in his bad moments.

I'm just not convinced. I've seen performances where he was less than stellar. Like that game against the US... he has consistency problems himself.

Maybe we should try again for Frey...

Well who else are our keeper options? Our 3 stooges? PASS
cech, buffon, casillas r unsellable... those are your 3 best...

I put boruc and frey on same level. but boruc is more attainable. I havent seen enough of akineev and handovic. Ochoa the young mexican keeper could be amazing... but hes not as good as boruc or frey now. After our rollercoaster keeping situation last few seasons. I welcome consistancy. 28 is YOUNG for a keeper too...

Sorry guys my mistake it was a typo, that said 69goals and 26 goals allowed was my point. You don't have to score 80goals a year to win. It's always going to be Defence that wins in the end.
Milan do need attackers when comes down to replacing players like Seedorf,Pippo and Ronaldo who are all on the other side of 30.But do not forget we need to find defenders that are also in there mid 20's.
My opinion who Milan should look at in every position.
With Pato and Borrielo it's not bad for the future.
Player to add:Jeremy Menez of AS Monaco $12million,not the 30-40million that Lyon wants for Benzema or even Adebayor. This kid has more skill than both of them combined.
Attacking midfielder:We have the best in Kaka, but someone who can who could be very good would be Maitas Fernandez of Villareal, awesome talent.A better buy Milan at the age of 21 for about 10million than a player Ronaldinho who with transfer and contract 55-60million.
Midfielders:Pirlo,Gattuso,Ambro and now Flamini i think that's very strong group for us.With Flamini at the age of 24 and for free on the transfer it gives Milan alot of ways to go.Maybe we sign one more midfielder and the guy i would be Cigarini, very young and gain alot of seasoning this year with Parma.I don't know how much he would be worth, but looks like a traditional Milan midfielder in a couple of years. It would great him sooner than later so he could learn from some of our players.
Fullbacks:With Janku hopefully in good health on the left and Zambrotta on the right,we are not in bad shape just age and injury are the cause of concern. My choice for the right back would Abate, bring him back and let him learn from one of the best in the world. On the left i would go with Mauro Esposito of Cagliari, yes he is 28years old,but this is the type player Milan needs for replacements. He's very quick, very smart and has the experience in the Serie A.
Goalkeeper:Kalc and Dida?wow we have trouble in this position. It is the single most difficult position to fill.We don't have a true leader at that position, with rumours of Bourc or Gomes i would be happy with either one of them. This is the only position where Milan will have to spend more money than they should on a player.

We sold Gilardino recently to Fiorentina, so those lines are still open, and I do believe that Frey is attainable... Milan and Fiorentina are on pretty good terms. Maybe I'm more convinced by Frey because I've seen him more... and I've always liked French goalkeepers... we should have bought Coupet a few years ago...

How about PSV's goalkeeper? Huerelho Gomes? I know that Brazilian keepers are a bit of a question mark, but this guy has saved PSV countless times... btw, I think he's 26 years old and like 6'3"...

Edit: My oh my, Boruc got tricked badly in that game with that PK... but hey those are hard to save anyways...! Austria equalise... this guy who is almost as old as Maldini equalised for Austria... Vastic...

i found this REAL interesting... i was reading some archives from summer of 02 when we signed nesta......
for weeks galliani said this

'The Rossoneri chief also publicly announced that the club had no intention of joining the race to sign Lazio stopper Alessandro Nesta.

"The reason we are staying out of the Nesta situation is because the money needed to complete the deal would be outside of Milan’s budget," he added.'

All i can say is i hope he is doing same rouse.... just reaching for positivity

Playing is priority for Aquilani
Thursday 12 June, 2008

Alberto Aquilani’s father has explained that it is first-team football, rather than money that will persuade the Azzurri midfielder to stay at Roma.

The Roman starlet is seen as a building block for the future of the capital club, but he has been reluctant to commit to a contract extension.

The delay has prompted approaches from a number of sides, including Arsenal and Juventus, but Aquilani is still expected to stay put.

“We are calm, but obviously we can’t be 100 per cent optimistic,” Claudio Aquilani told Calciomercato.it.

“There has been some contact with Roma, but nothing has been made certain yet.

“We absolutely haven’t talked on financial terms. We have never discussed a figure and we don’t expect that to stall negotiations.

“Until there is any proof otherwise, Alberto is a Roma player and he would be very happy to stay here.

“We expect the club to make a show of faith in Alberto or else he could be the object of bids.

“There are lots of interested clubs and lots of those have made important offers, there’s no point in making a list. But we will only decide his future along with Roma.

“If Roma say that they see him as an element they will be counting on for the future he will be happy to stay forever.

“But if the Giallorossi are happy to listen to other offers then he is on the market and we will be looking for the highest offer for the club.

“He is more or less looking for a starting shirt, but we know that there will be three candidates for the place – Roma have told us that,” he said.

Although logically he could definitely start for Milan, team selections here are done with the heart and not the brain. Therefore we can pretty much rule out Aquilani as a potential new CM. It's a shame because he can develop into an even greater player and has a rocket of a shot. He is injury prone though which can pose a problem. There's still players like Cigarini available so we should be alright.
