Bordeaux will not buy Menez, yes it was rumoured that wanted him,but Gorky going there. There might an agreement.
I guess just like Adebayors form at Monaco was splendid before he came to Arsenal.
You can knock a player ,but give me good reason.
So the likes of Milan,Inter,Real,Liverpool and ManU after him mean nothing?

Just like to add that Milan has been doing this for years.
Talking about every big name striker on every big name club and then buy another player from a smaller League.
Sheva,Weah,Pato,Van Basten,Kaka,Savicevic can someone answer me tell what leagues these players came?

Right after he won the CL with Red Star in 1991, so you can count Savicevic out (even though the Yugoslav league indeed wasn't in top 3 in europe). He was the best player of a CL winning team when Milan bought him.

Benzema has hardly had chances...what are you talking about? A substitute appearance vs Romania and no time against Holland ?

Gomis has also failed to impress...even if he had little time in which to do so.

My view though, is that just because a player has a bad Euro, doesn't necessarily mean that he won't be a good aquisition.

And the converse is also true....one good Euro performance does not guarantee a striker will score 20+ goals in a season.

I agree that this stage is a good one to test a target's mettle...but its not the ultimate criterion.

Good/poor performances will affect the player's price though......and while Gomez hasn't impressed, I don't think his talent is a "flash in the pan"...his stats over time say otherwise.

Sad to say it, I prob would still prefer him over Drogba, but maybe not over Adebayor.

Guardiola said that he wants the Ronaldinho issue solved by July 14 (when the Barca squad meets for pre-season)..I dont think it will be resolved by then..this transfer will keep going until mid-August..

Warro, dude...I am loving Jamaica more and more everyday.. the people are just too cool and are usually

He started against romania, and did not look like a 70 million dollar player. I wud maybe go for him at 30-40 mill, even then the price is very steep. I realli like him as a player and have faith in him. but he is young, and the chances of him being a bust are still exsitent. So i would not go too crazy on him, but i would spend a moderate amount. I would rather bring back sheva than buy one of the strikers we have been paired with. whats the point of payin crazy money for drogba to play in uefa? if we are gonna pick up a striker, i would go for bringin back sheva, ronaldinho, or benzema. Ronaldinho has huge upside. Sheva would allow us to spend the money on our defense. While Benzema would be Pato's partner for the future. Players that are interesting are: Boruc, behrami, cana, foggia (where is he now?), alex (chelsea), zapata, ivanovic (chelsea), lahm, schweinteiger, fritz (very versatile), modric ( i noe he was jus purchased but he is so much like pirlo), ledesma, van der vart, sneijder, hleb, diarra, g.rossi, and ect. I think these are options milan should consider when building their squad for next season.

Yeah, we shouldnt bank too much on any individual's performance in the euros per say and count on the overall performance over the last season. Remember Maxi Rodriguez from the last World Cup. I havent heard much of him since.

Graeme, that graph was awesome, the perfect summary for us, the all time "Kings of the Transfer Market" LOL

For me tops, 17-20 million for him... he may have a chance of getting big, but he could end up like Gilardino... I think we should still try to get Eto'o... we can focus heavily on the domestic title... we need to win the Scudetto to restate our serious intent.

You named some very good options... Behrami from Lazio? He's Kosovar right? I've heard some good things about him. Foggia... I'm not sure... I think he's playing for Cagliari... and is owned by Lazio (not Milan). He might be a good player to buy... always good to have another attacking mid. And he has a bit more experience now... being 25 years old...

Zapata is also a very fine player... I'd really like to see. Probably one of the best up and coming defenders...

Which Ledesma? Cristian Ledesma? I know that Pablo Ledesma from Boca is pretty good too... he's superb on the right side of the mid field.

And Sneijder especially has had a great Euro campaign...

You name some really good options.

Rather than focusing too much on one or two players, I think we need a squad with a lot of depth. I think that is what Milan is doing right now. We can't buy tons and tons of 40 mililion dollar players... probably one or two of those... but the option of bringing back all these younger players is very smart (I willl stand by this statement 110%).

Call me crazy, but I don't mind a bit if we end up with Pippo, Pato, Borriello and Paloschi. We don't have to play CL for the next season, and Pato seems on the right track to become a super star. Maybe Borriello and Paloschi could turn out to be another Massaro-like player, while Pato is the "MVB".

The worst, if all failed, we could still turn to the winter mercato and get some half-decent strikers just to kill the season. After all, if you could use Gila-Pippo and no healthy backup for most of the past two seasons, I don't see why we can't live with those four.

But we really need to bring in a great goalkeeper. I think the key is Dida. If we manage to get rid of him (highly unlikely though), then we could bring in someone that is better than Abbiati (Boruc, please), which would further trigger Abbiati to leave. Knowing him, I am sure that is what he will do. He feels very insecure all the time and he needs to be promised with the first spot. I actually liked him a lot, but I am getting tired of his constant nagging and sad attitude. And let's face it, he is good, but we could use someone that is better. Anyway, once Abbiati is gone too, we will bring in a second new name that is young and promising, like Viviano. With Kalac as the third choice, we are all set! Too bad it could only be a dream...

wow.. this is brighten up my day so far. even Carletto still has 2 years contract left but with this news (probably the affect from Cesare's talk ) i still could dreaming about my dream coach

http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?ac...ad&idsel=18531

btw in that article is also written about Veloso (yes for me) and Adebayor (no for me, because he is overrated for his tag price).
