All the more reason to have a young quality replacement for him. He gets injured, and then what!!!

The reason why said we should sell him is because management just won't spend money and buy a young quality replacement if it cost them. Also we NEED a striker.

In a perfect world we go to Parma and dump 5-7 Million Euros and say give us Cigarini this year while we are focusing on the scudetto and KEEP Pirlo.

He won't mind coming on behind Pirlo could learn much and prep to be his long term replacement. In the long run we'd be saving HUGE!!!

Alons with J.Zanetti who is a player I adore, aldough he plays for Inter. Well sportsmanship needs to stay alive even at the wars like Milan-Inter

Not, the next thing we MUST do is to buy Boruc for lousy 10mln as you can all simple see that he is a world class keeper. If he was italian, french or Duch clubs would jump for him. The way he plays 1 on 1's is remarcable, and the thing I respect mostly is that he is a fighter and a leader. Dida has 4mln a year, Emrson also, ronaldo and so on... do not be sdtupid and buy BVoruc, its simple. Every defence with a great keeper looks 20% better instantly!

Aldough Im a Croat, and maybe I cannot think straight about our players, but I hope you people now see what kind of great palyer Modrić is. A master is technique, passing, player vision and , ALWAYS TH MOST IMPORTANT THING -a responsibile palyer with brains that can play as DM, LM, RM, CM, and AM and runs 10-11 km per mtach.
I never said that Zambrotta is not reliable at defending at the top level....if I did it's not what I meant. I said that he's past it...meaning past his PEAK.....I actually praised his defending.......what I'm not happy about is his SPEED and age.

Mrki, I always heard you talk about Modric.... is he fast like sprinter fast (Walcott, Lennon, Kaka) or is his speed just faster than most players like Quaresma, CR7, Messi ??

Knowing our management they'll opt for a Cuban Cigarini before the Italian one

Not yet...but he's getting there in a hurry.

I think some teams in Spain Athletico Madrid & Villarreal were willing to pay over 10 million for him. Juve & Torino were also in the picture.

He just needs some time and the opportunity to hone/perfect his skill. An effective/WC deep lying playmaker is not that easy to find. But this kid has serious potential and learning from Pirlo would do him wonders.

Worth the risk (IMO)

For me Cigarini is welcomed in Milan, he is a class palyer no doubt about it and a passer that we need as from the deep midfielders only Pirlo has sofisticated passes and vision.

Dru, Modric is not as fast as Kaka' in KAka's sprint, but that is not important. Kaka', Pato, C.Ronaldo, Robben etc are the fastest palyers in the world and even Gerrard, Gattuso, Ballack, Fabregas, Drogba asr not that fast...and so on..you get it. Do you watch Euro? Even if you dont it doesnt matter. My wish was for Luka Modric not to go to EPL as I feared for his talent in a league where its all about kick and run. But the league showed that its changing and Luka himself said he choose Tottenham over Newcastle ( aldough the deal was done with dinamo and Newcastle, and for bgger price then Tottenham paied- which is mor then 20mln euro) becouse of the coach Ramos. We all know that Ramos is TOP CLASS coach that developes technical players. And as Brasiliero said somewhere, he is a coach that plays the players in their NATURAL and best positions and so gets the best from them. My wich was Bayern, Lyon, Barcelona ( Luka's life wish is to play for Barca )...but England clubs pay more then others and Dinamo sold him to England, Just as a notice that is interesting, this club, dinamo Zagreb ( aldough when Im in Croatia I officially "hate" them), in past year sold: Da Silva (Arsenal), Corluka ( City ), Modric ( Tottenham ), Vukojevic ( 8mln, Dynamo Kyev), Pokrivac ( Monaco ). For one generaton its a lot to produce, almost like Ajax!

Modric's quality is not speed or any other ONE dimesnion, its the way he influences the team. As the Croatian team changes through the game, and the subs are made, formation changes and the game goes on, he keeps changing roles and in the end of Cro-Ger match he palyer as "seconda punta"! making pressing in 90-th minute after playing DM against Ballack-Frings for 90minutes... For me, he is a brilliant player that can match any central midfielder in the world. Maybe Im wrong, but he has showed he can play against Ballack, Gerrard, Haargreeves, Frings,, Fabregas and so on... Boy has it, its simple.

Chelsea consider Cigarini
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Parma midfielder Luca Cigarini. The Italian club suffered relegation to Serie B and are under pressure to boost funds and the Under-21 star could be sold for around £5m. Parma received an approach from Chelsea last week and according to English reports they’re ready to make an offer for the youngster.
------------------------

off channel4. 5 mil for him is a steal. Him and aimar at zaragoza are on the cheap because there teams got relegated. BTW I HATE POSTING STUFF LIKE THIS... 'oh hes so cheap.' I wouldnt normally care but being as this has become the rule (flamini, zambrotta, boriello, antonini...) as opposed to the exception.....

On zapata, quagliarella, di natale. If udinese dont make a run far in uefa cup or league, they'll probably sell them all next mercato.....

This is news to me, and makes me again question why management would be looking at Veloso in the midfield, when we could have the potential heir to Pirlo's national teams spot for less?

different different players. Veloso is capable of LB and CB. as well as DM. I like veloso, i just dont want him to come at cost of other needs.... an AM, a striker, defender, goalie

(Barring injuries or somehow him failing) He is a player that is most likely someone that will just become better. He is also very complete as a striker.

He is no sure deal of course, NO player ever is.

IMO, him and Eto'o are the best we can find... maybe together with Villa.
It's just my opinion... that's all... I really don't think he is worth 50 million though... that's outrageous.

Why not just buy a LB or CB? I don't get this let's buy a DM who can play as a (fill in the blank)

A heir /quality replacement for Pirlo is harder to find than another DM who can also play LB or CB. Especially when you look the way our team is structured and how valuable, essential and reliant we are on a player with Pirlo's skill sets.

Or will we have to see Brocchi feature again in when Pirlo gets tired or having an off day?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfe..._transfer_fees

theres only been 3 players who have gone above 50 mil euro transfer fee. And if you look none of been super recent. They were all in the early millenum, then alot of teams went into financial crisis. Benzema if he was sold today would probably go low to mid 30s. For a 20 year old thats amazing. All clubs say higher than it negotiates down.

valid point... but i was thinking about it and posted on this forum before. List of viable LBs is scarce. Unless we spend big on lahm. there arent many available. ManUtd wont sell evra. same w/ chelsea and ashley cole. arsenal clichy. barca abidal.

1 thing is right. Brocchi NEEDS to go.

juninho, but i wouldnt sell pirlo just yet, unless it is for 40+ mil, and this season pirlos's freekicks havent been anything to boast about.
