Reza is a jewel in the roughReza is a jewel in the roughReza is a jewel in the rough
For example when the ball comes to Pippo he runs with it till his last breath, Toni doesn't seem to be able to pick up any pace.
Caught some of the Romania game too, everything I saw was pretty disappointing, they didn't even seem to get forward.

We're probably only 2 able to say such thing ... other people who read that must tell themselves "they're mad" but in 2010, when Gilardino will score his 8th goal in final ...

I think the strikers for Italy in 2010 will be Balotelli, Amauri, Boriello & Cassano ... with maybe 2 others from Palladino, Paloschi, Di Natale & Di Michele.

It would be the best solution ... we'll need De Rossi and Ambrosini against Spain to destroy their midfield.

But I don't think that Aquilani will play, I think Donadoni will put Perrotta in the midfield, Cassano will step down on the pitch and Di Natale or Del Piero will play ...

The worst would be to play again with a kind of 4-3-3 with Camoranesi in, he's as useless as Perrotta.

And about Cassano, I have still some doubts about him ...

Paloschi already Jim? A bit optimistic aren't we? Palo will most probably be playing u-21 then in all honesty.

There is no mistake here, Zambrotta and Pirlo were two of the best players on the pitch... Zambrotta is world class. Flat out.

I think you are a little bit too excited about zambrotta. It's still early to say if he will contribute significantly to Milan, though his recent form at EURO2008 seems to really pick up.

I think he plays really well with other Italians, and it's no accident that most players in Barcelona are treated like horse manure. I think Milan was extremely smart buying him.

I just am optimistic he will pick up great form with Milan... and today he showed that with some of fellow Rossoneri in the national team... I think maybe there were communication gaps in Barcelona... that don't exist in either in the Italian national team or in Milan.

Alongside Cassano like it should have been since 2004 (if I'm not mistaken till Cassano got kicked out of the Under 21, they had been together in all the other younger NT process).

Not bad for Italy, I think this win is going to give them a lot of motivation for the rest of the tournament. Donadoni has always needed those big slaps in the face to try to get the team back on track (like vs France early in the qualification and then in a friendly game against Hungary). Sad that Pirlo got the yellow, the guy can handle the midfield so beutifully, and alongside De Rossi they make a deadly pair (probably my favorite midfield pair).

Great sportsmanship shown by Holland, but I still believe their defense is very weak (well, I would say almost all the defenses in this Euro are weak), Romania could have scored a lot (as well as France and Italy) if they would have been more "calm". Well luck plays its role too.

from gli azzurri vs les blues match last night, i become admiring benzema more than before. After abidal being sent off then nasri brought out replaced by boumsong as center back, i saw how benzema play in the position he used to play in Lyon after Fred came back from injury after the winter break.

Benzema at the left flank, sidney govou at the opposite flank while Henry in the center as the main striker.
The only difference Domenech did comparing to Alain Perrin scheme in Lyon is Henry instead of Fred.
By my point of view, benzema did great last night of course with France player benchmark. Dribble from the left side, drive into the centre of italian defence, combination with evra, toulalan or Henry and good placing shot from the edge of penalty box but unfortunately saved brilliantly by buffon.

After seeing how great Benzema could be as a main striker, last night i saw how good he can be as supporting forward who play widely, picked up the ball from midfield, run with ball through defender & constantly play for 90' full time in a team consist of 10 players.

I too liked Benzema a great deal in the game... I thought he was the best player for France (and I mean a great player, while the others stunk). Govou and Abidal should not be on the national team. However, Benzema showed a lot of great promise, and Milan should look at him.

I was glad he didn't score for obvious reasons, but at the same time I saw a great deal of immense talent in him.
