he took them to two semi finals in 2 years. Losing 1 to a liverpool team on a goal that shouldnt have counted. a team that beat us in finals. losing in rd of 16 to a barca team that was DOMINANT.... unlike us losing to a arsenal team which got slapped the next round. Then finally last year semi final loss on pks.

He has 1 of the best CL records period in terms of win-loss and consistancy. He won WITH PORTO. That alone is a more impressive accomplishment than any of ancelotti's titles....

oh and the unbeaten streak at home during his entire tenure... man we could use that...

edit: u cant say hes a bad CL manager, then some1 sites him winning it and u say u dont care that 1 doesnt count!

like him or not, he is a top teir manager

Here we go again... for one, Avram Grant did more than he did in the years he was at Chelsea, with regards to the CL. Dude, we did far more than him. Ancelotti is a FAR BETTER coach than Mourinho. Stop trying to justify this. Ancelotti won the CL twice and got us to another final that we should have won. Ancelotti did far more with Milan than Mourinho did with Chelsea. That's a fact. The domestic record is relatively even, but internationally Milan was far more successful than Chelsea.

While he did win with Porto, he never was close with Chelsea. And his win with Porto is not more impressive than any of Ancelotti's titles. That's ridiculous.

I never said he was bad. Stop misquoting and misstating what I say. I just don't view him as infallible and the best like you do. He's not as good as you think.

Winning w/ those players is harder to do is my point. didnt mean to devalue ancelotti's titles. but you're wrong he came close he came a bs goal and a pk shootout away from making final. i bet he wins atleast 1 of them... no1 will ever know. Anyway in my opinion 2 legged fixtures r to a degree a bit of luck. consistancy and league form is what counts. Let me remind you, mourinho never lost a cup final. Grant lost both, on poor tactics, especially in league cup to a lower teir team like totenham

i think in terms of possibilities.. he's a great hire for inter. He's broughten more world attention to them which will help them sign players. His teams r always well organized and consistent. We dont have to worry about him in CL next season, but I dont expect inter to drop at end of season like they did this year.

to relate it to milan.... inter has stepped up there game. Got a better manager. will prolly make a couple small changes, but when u win league twice in a row u dont need a major change... so its time we step up ours and get a few game changers

I really don't understand why you keep disregarding what he did in Porto... if it was all about winning the Portugese league... fine..

But the he won the CL and UEFA cup...

And he won the EPL which was so dominant by Fergie and Wenger, which something Rafa still hasn't been able to break into... He turned a 2 horse race league into a 3 horse race league in his first season... and mind you fergie has been there, hhhmmm... 50 years or something and wenger been there for about 10 years...

I seriously feel he's going to make Inter stronger... they finally have a coach with an EGO bigger than any player in the squad, and he has the attitude of "it's either my way, or my way, or get the hell out"...

They have finally got the monkey off their back by winning the scudetto, and with Mourinho i believe they have finally found the single missing piece...

I'm off to watch the match... put my bets on Turkey with 1/2 goal advantage... hoping for at least a draw in 90 mins!!!

That's GREAT logic I mean Ancelotti totally sucked at Juve and Lippi at Inter but that only makes Lippi a bad coach because Mourinho won TWO (2) league titles with Chelsea and a bunch of domestic cups while Carlo won ONE (1) scudetto with Milan.....having studied mathematics up to the university level I can reliably inform you that 2 >1 (using the convoultion theory )

That year was a fluke when it came to smaller teams. You are devaluing Ancelotti and how much he has accomplished for Milan. I believe the guy needs more players to work with and he can deliver more to us. I'm not wrong. Milan was always more successful than Chelsea was internationally. Always.

Avram Grant had to come in and deal with a team that had a long list of injuries. He took Chelsea to the CL Final (something Mourinho was not capable of doing) and he got Chelsea competitive with ManU for the domestic title. It was close. I think Grant employed correct tactics in the CL, and it was just his bad luck that Terry missed that PK. Remember, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a PK as well that could have cost ManU the CL title, IF, terry did not miss.

Giancarlo, the problem with your argument is that you use Carlo's CL wins to say how good he is, yet if someone uses Mourinho's CL win you say it is useless...by that logic, how come Carlo's CL wins aren't useless? It just doesn't make sense. Winning the CL is winning the CL, whether it's with Milan or Tampere united. Most people seem to think that winning it with a team from a lesser league might be something of a grand achievment.

Ancelotti won the UEFA cup too with Parma I believe it was. I'm not convinced by Mourinho and I do not think he will be any better than Mancini.

whose to say... mourinho built that team toa degree... players like drogba, lampard he took to next level....
of cours milan was more successful. chelsea had won english league ONCE in history before mourinho and he won 2 in first 2 years...He took them from a mediocre team, to a team thats now in discussion w/ milan, barcelona, man u. juve etc etc

They are pretty even domestically, yet Ancelotti has won far more internationally. That's a fact you can't dispute. Your logic simply does not add up.

By the way you're discounting the other domestic cups that Carlo has won.
