Like I said, I don't like him, but how can you be sure that he stays in Milan just for the wages ?
Beats me, because no one knows the actual reason why he's staying. If we're going to equate salary with class once again, I guess it's okay for Kaka to get thirty contract extensions a year.

Kaka's contract is extend to keep him at Milan as he's the best player in Milan, and always wanted by other clubs, whereas Dida isn't even wanted by the club who has him.

You are actually wrong about your thought about Russian football: they're rich, they pay a lot, and they are able to keep their guys. We're no more in that period when West European clubs (bigger ones from Spain, Italy, England, etc) were taking players from East Europe at low costs because these clubs did need money. Nowadays, you have to pay a looooooooooot ...

PS: Arshavin is 26yo, thought he was younger ...
absolutely right. if i were Arshavin i wont be move out to another club if the reason is just about the money. Russian's club are wealthy. they even not in financial problem. but about his age, we all know the rate for Milan's player. if we could easily sign Zambrotta, Emerson, then Arshavin would be very young to our standard

I don't think that Arsenal will try to sing Arshavin because they will buy Nasri and they play on the same position.

A valid point, but not one I completely agree with. Yes, a player with Adebayor's, Drogba's or even Eto'o's qualities is necessary, but failing that we can always adapt to other approaches (let's not forget Borri does have the qualities of the first striker we need, and is an option off the bench).

If Arshavin was to come, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to play a similar lineup to last season with Arshavin and Seedorf rotating to play behind Pato (who is a natural first striker) with Kaka. Our problems last season were down to injury and fatigue, lack of confidence (or mental fatigue) and incorrect application of our tactical setup (e.g. dropping too deep, ineffective wingbacks). We saw the effect of having Kaka back to his usual brilliance, Pippo playing as our reliable front man (a role I'm confident Pato can do, and in fact think he'd thrive in) and Bonera playing at RB where he was playing superbly. The results were very good and we outplayed Inter convincingly once the setup was correct. Arshavin could slot naturally into Seedorf's role, and could even possibly compliment Kaka better as both have a similar mentality when playing (like to be direct and play at pace) and both can alternate through the match between playmaker and support forward, which will make it extremely hard for opponents to defend against.

The system we play requires two solid, but offensively threatening wingbacks. With Zambrotta we have one of the best in the business and Bonera was excellent both defensively and attacking at the end of last season. Ambro and Rino need to be used in their natural DM roles, who will primarily protect the back four and press forward if opponents look to break. It's important they do their job correctly as it allows Pirlo the freedom to really express himself. Last season we never really saw this correct balance, and our midfield failed. That failing, Flamini is also here (and could easily take any of Rino's or Ambro's place), who is a more technical option to help allow the team to play it's way forward. With Kaka and Arshavin, we would then have essentially two supporting forwards/attacking midfielders who are looking to support the front man (Pato) and in wide areas, as both are capable of moving into wide areas. Personally, I think the potential in that team is superb (it's similar to the system with R10 I mentioned previously, but Arshavin compliments Kaka better imho), and the explosive attributes of the front three would benefit against deep defending teams.

but i think Arshavin would be looks like Hleb in Arsenal. if Hleb goes to other club then Arshavin would be a good replacement for Arsenal. but what i read that Milan is in the front line to make an offer to that Russian. pretty much base on Ancelotti's statement when he said that : Arshavin is a good player. not more than that. but you know journalist can be that creative to create the story that Milan would sign him. lol..

Milan transfer consultant and super agent Ernesto Bronzetti insists Milan have a fifty percent chance of signing Adebayor and he claims Arsenal want to sell the striker to Barcelona. He also believes the Rossoneri could fuel Adebayor's move to Camp Nou and thay they could take Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho to San Siro instead.

I hope this come true

Is it even reasonable for us to ask a young Pato to leave his usual position become an attacking midfielder?

The 30 million euros tag you put on his is simply your opinion. Even considering today's match, the number you suggested is inflated. After the euros are over, his hype will go down and so will his price. Again, the 15 milloin euros tag is my opinion but it is a calculated guess according to the previous Russian transfers.

I never asked Berlu to chip in financially. The thing is, Gazprom, Zenit's sponsor which is run by the Russian government; has a big say in the club's football matters because they give their petro-dollars to the club. So if Milan approaches Zenit, they will certainly consider that Milan is owned by Berlu, who is a very good friend of Putin. Berlu wouldn't even have to speak to Zenit. His prior relations with Russia would do the work for us.

If Milan, by itself refuses to pay his transfer fee (may be upto 15 million euros), then it will be so. It is just our bad luck that the whole league is in a miserable financial condition. We would again miss out on a very good player. 'nuff said.
Mate, if you have a budget, and all of it goes to a big striker, and eventually for a defender, can you explain me how Milan will sign a player like Arshavin for 20+ millions ?
15 millions are not even enough to sign Arshavin grandad. Why would they sell for such a small amount of moneys, if other european clubs can easily double that sum ?

And, again, if we can't even afford a big first striker star, i fail to understand how we can afford that frist striker + Arshavin ! It's beyond me...

If you barely can afford a car, how can you buy a car and a flat ????

Bronzetti in the last years has only brought donkeys in Milan. I hope he takes a few years break and enjoys an early retirement with all the commission fees he gets every time a contract is signed.

And what about Pato ?
But which great first striker should we get? Should we really pay around £20 million for Drogba or Toni even though after about 2 years we'll have to spend another similar amount to replace them?

Or should we spend £25+ on Adebayor or Etoo who are obviously younger but are they as deadly? Adebayor seems to have major critics despite scoring a hatful of goals, both are seen as wasteful in front of goal.

Then there are the unknown quantities of Gomez & Berbatov, are they worth the money? Gomez probably wouldn't be.

Why not spend the money on a genuinly world class player (who is currently better than both Seedorf or Ronaldinho) and try to get a cheaper first striker like Huntelaar or someone none of us would initially think of? We have Boriello, we have Pato & Inzaghi, with Arshavin and someone else we would be fine for the Uefa cup. Why not even get someone on loan? That wouldn't be so tragic, we could then wait until next summer to spend bigger on a major striker to (hopefully) take us far in the CL.

So why buy a car that has engine problems, faulty brakes or problems over mileage when you can definately buy a fantastic flat?

As for Pato, well for me i don't think he's ready to be a regular first team starter. Let him progress naturally by coming off the bench and starting less important games. There's no need to rush him.

Instead of wasting time & money on talks with Barca, Arsenal and Chelsea etc for absolutely rubbish like Aderbayor, Ronaldinho, Drogba, Eto'o etc, ACM should simply go to Russia and bring these 4 players in & thats it for the summer transfers

-Arshavin
-Pavlyuchenko
-Zhurkov
-Igor Akinfeev

Its not all about Arshavin for Russia in Euro-2008, Just look at the other 3 players, all of them have been sensational. I can't see any one being a better striker in Euros than Pavlyuchenko other than David Villa. Buffon aside, Igor Akinfeev has been the best keeper of Euros & Zhurkov, what a left wing back & ACM need one like that. I don't think signing even all 4 of them would cost ACM much

------------------Igor Akinfeev------------------

---Zambrotta----Nesta---Maldini-----Zhurkov----

--------Gattuso-------Pirlo------Flamini----------

----------------------Kaka----------------------

-----Pavlyuchenko/Pato------Arshavin------------

Bench: Inzaghi, Janku, Oddo, Bonera, Kaladze Kaladze, Ambro, Borrellio & Ronaldo

If UEFA sees this team, they would hand the UEFA Cup to ACM even before the season starts & playing serie-A matches will be just a formality

We can only sign one non-eu player a season, not 4.

Ronaldo is gone, and Kaladze can only be a sub once.
