If we had a forward like Arshavin then Pirlo could rest some matches as Arshavin is Pirlo upfront, with more pace & dribbles.

Galliani reiterates that Adebayor or nothing (tuttomercato). And there is his usual bs after that.

No, more like, we are paupers in the market, and what can I do if
Arsenal don't want to sell to us? With Paloschi our attack is
complete as it is.

For sure, it is complete. Complete with mediocrity.

That kind of statement is simply STUPID, Lord have mercy... I guess it only serves to overhype the player, therefore inflationating his value on the market...

Unless he's pulling the old trick of going to buy someone else.

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hope this whole Adebayor thing is all a smokescreen.....As Brasilero suggested a team doesn't always need a BIG powerful striker to complement the small pacy playmaker......Brazil '94 used Romario and Bebeto with great success. I think Asharvin and Pato in front of Kaka will give defenders enough nightmares on the ground.

Also it isn't necessarily true that BECAUSE a striker is big and tall he's good in the air...Pato's aerial game is quite good if not yet great and there are MANY tiny forwards who score heaps of headders.....Owen and Tevez come first to mind while big targetmen like Crouch, Toni and even Gila have not impressed of late despite their size.

Actually Asharvin may well be an even better fit that Ronaldinho because he IS an actual striker. Ronaldinho is listed as one too but he plays far too much in midfield to even be considered as one. THAT added with his pace and most importantly his DETERMINATION would make our 'good' attack look GREAT

My gosh I HOPE he was misquoted
But I wonder which "truth" is he referring to:
Sheva+Ronaldinho 180% Milan players?
WE WILL SIGN BIG THIS YEAR?
PLAYER X is comming?
If Ronaldinho moves it WILL BE TO MILAN?

In other news, fellow ca$h strapped Italian club Juventus are reported to be closing in on Quaresma......wow it looks like the Juve fans have sold enough lemmonade and cookies to raise funds for Quaresma if they are looking to buy him. I think we should approach the IMF/World bank so that we can get somebody

I think the examples of Gila, Gomez, Toni and Crouch as big target men who have faltered somewhat show how fragile it is to rely on this sort of player. Toni, playing with Italy where there was very little service to him, was hopeless. At one point in the first half he had a half-chance that was headed out to the corner flag, and he didn't even run after it. He was isolated up front, and without service, was effectively useless. This was Gila's problem as well (besides the fact that he didn't move); he didn't ever get good service. Even if we have Ade, we still don't have any good service. Will Ade run at players and take them on like Pato or Sheva did? No. So he's essentially a one-trick pony, posted up in the box and hoping to outsize the competition. 25 million for that? I don't think so. 25 million, I want Arshavin instead.

I haven't wished misfortune upon many, but I really hope Galliani is found guilty of the most sordid corruption (and somehow Milan are not held culpable) and is put behind bars, so he can keep his mouth shut.

Galliani is a pathological liar. But then again he takes orders from Mr. deception par excellence.

If Milan do not purchase a solid forward, I honestly hope the fans don't go to any of the games. The lies are just too much to bear.

Galliani gives hitman update
Monday 23 June, 2008

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has given an honest appraisal of the strikers the Rossoneri have been linked with in the summer market.

The Diavolo need a new hitman to add to Brazilian teen star Alexandre Pato and Marco Borriello, who has been brought back from Genoa.

Galliani has stressed that Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor is the only name left on the shopping list, but that hasn’t stopped a host of other names being linked to San Siro.

“Some people are talking about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but I’m not sure that he’s better than Borriello,” Galliani explained.

“Karim Benzema costs too much and Lyon aren’t selling him. There has been no approach for Adrian Mutu and he is a second striker – we have Pato for that position.

“We haven’t inquired about Antonio Cassano but like Mutu he is a second striker anyway.

“Chelsea say that Didier Drogba isn’t for sale and then there’s Samuel Eto’o for whom Barcelona are asking too much and his wages are far too large – they aren’t compatible with an Italian club.”

Galliani concluded by discussing the impossibility of signing Barcelona’s Brazilian star Ronaldinho.

“It’s not true that we are considering a bid for him,” he said. “He has a ridiculous offer from England and it cannot be matched."

The Eto'o bit is somewhat true. The thing is we can pay those wages but only to maybe 2-3 players. For example Kaka earns more than Eto'o, but he is one player. Barca can pay a lot of their team those wages.

So maybe I was being too harsh. The other stuff though is just a case of, "I couldn't get my job done, so now I will backtrack".

MILAN, Ancelotti seduced by Arshavin

Ancelotti appreciates so much Andrey Arshavin, and has defined him the revelation of Euro 2008. Milan would be interested to the Russian talent. Of true there is that the 27 years old will leave Zenit Saint Petersbourg: earn still 3 million euros every season, in pole position there are Arsenal, disposed to fork out 12,5 millions of termination clause, then Manchester City and Chelsea. But he "dreams Barcelona" reveals Mutko, chairman of Russian federation.
---------------------------------------

I dont see how arsenal r in pole position. they wont meet his wages. and if his transfer fee is really around 12.5 to 15 mil, JUMP IT. Personally i dont think 12.5 will get him. Barca and chelsea will bid more...

on the official website ACMILAN.com Galliani says

At the moment there is only one negotiation going on, which is for Adebayor. Everything depends on Arsenal, but usually when a club says a player is unsellable there's nothing you can do. For us it's like that. Certainly anything can still happen, but at the moment I have to accept official the letter which has arrived to us from Arsenal, which says that at the moment they don't want to negotiate. In any case this is the only hypothesis we are thinking about, either Adebayor comes or we are staying like this
