Galliani said that in the article Hasan posted on the previous page.

Galliani gives hitman update
Monday 23 June, 2008

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has given an honest appraisal of the strikers the Rossoneri have been linked with in the summer market.

The Diavolo need a new hitman to add to Brazilian teen star Alexandre Pato and Marco Borriello, who has been brought back from Genoa.

Galliani has stressed that Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor is the only name left on the shopping list, but that hasn’t stopped a host of other names being linked to San Siro.

“Some people are talking about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but I’m not sure that he’s better than Borriello,” Galliani explained.

“Karim Benzema costs too much and Lyon aren’t selling him. There has been no approach for Adrian Mutu and he is a second striker – we have Pato for that position.

“We haven’t inquired about Antonio Cassano but like Mutu he is a second striker anyway.

“Chelsea say that Didier Drogba isn’t for sale and then there’s Samuel Eto’o for whom Barcelona are asking too much and his wages are far too large – they aren’t compatible with an Italian club.”

Galliani concluded by discussing the impossibility of signing Barcelona’s Brazilian star Ronaldinho.

“It’s not true that we are considering a bid for him,” he said. “He has a ridiculous offer from England and it cannot be matched."

oh.

if boriello is that damn good, w(hy)tf are we looking for another striker, wait why didnt Donadoni play him, in any of the matches, why did we give him to genoa last year in the first place, why was he a bench warmer, when he was here the first time.

i can understand why Huntelaar saw limited minutes in euro cup, cause oranje has alot of fire power, but Italy on the other hand didnt have anything, Toni, was horrendous, and on any other team, or if Lippi was coach im sure he would be benched, yet Boriello wasnt able to get any game. plus there was one friendly right before the euro where boriello did come on and missed from point blank range.

yet he is in the same class as Klass

i think all the time in the sun, at the beach with warro, has fried his brain cells, expecially with no hair to help protect him.

So why make him a target if he not available.

Galiani thinks were fools. Choose a target that is unattainable and then say well we tried but the club wasn't selling.

I love how he disqualified targets that are actually attainable. Classic Galiani B.S.

Ashavin is good but I comeback and people are posting that he's as good as Kaka, Messi & RonaldinhoSlow down!!!

no but at his price I content he will give you more than dinho. Arshavin is hungry. He wants to win in big leagues, champion leagues etc.

and like someone else said, should scouts have done there homework he would have been attainable pre tournament before his stock sky rocketed...

I firmly believe that a totally unused subsitute at Euros is FAR better than one who scored with his only appearance. I don't know why you guys doubt the guruness of the guru of all gurus Mr Adriano Galliani. With recent successes like Emerson, Olivera, Gila, Vogel, Dhoorasoo, Vieri and of course the incomparable Ibrahim Ba- the best winger of our generation - I don't know HOW ANYONE could doubt someone with such a proven track record. As Galliani rightly said "We get owned in the transfer market"

This is also false. We earn more in revenue than Liverpool and Chelsea. It was in the report !!! Jeez.

Also the taxation benefit is huge for Spain, not for England. I am not 100% sure, but the tax rate is more than 40% in England.

Inter, Juve, and Fiorentina are spending. It cannot be solely because they're in the CL. Galliani must think we're all fools.

Cause he wants to find an excuse not to spend. Huntelaar has been consistant in his perfomances for Ajax as a striker.

Boriello has one good year and Galiani has the nerve to put them in the same class. What an insult!!!

Galiani is truly a bald fool of the highest order.

Please have some respect. Galliani has been the vice president at Milan for a long time. In this time we have amassed a war chest of sliverware. If he says that a guy who scored 1 goal in 17 matches than a guy who scores 70 in 82* then YOU need to check over your mathematics not him. Huntelaar is also EQUAL TO BORRIELLO in height as they are BOTH 6' 1".....Now tell me that's not an improvement over the 6' 0.5" Gilardino

Imagine if we can turn back time to the point where before the scandal and I remembered at that time, Berlu approached Moggi and asked Moggi to join us. Imagine Moggi did and scandal never happened. Would that be nice, Milan would probably secure more IT youths and loan them out to small Series A clubs and never sell them even for 1/2 an ownership like we do now. Players like Buffon, Zambrotta and Ibra joining us in the ranks. Then always selling aging stars with high price and getting younger hungrier stars with half of that value, like how he sold ZZ and in return getting guys like Nedved, Thruam and Buffon. What would Milan look like today??

I think Dinho will be hungry to prove that he's still the best this coming year. He'll be hungry.

I'm not convinced that Zenit would have sold him for much less than they will before this tournament began. Just because you have a valuable jewel and others don't realize it...doesn't mean you sell it for anything less than what it's worth.

But, you're right I think that his price (already high in this teams estimation) will go higher.

If you believe Galiani we were priced out of acquiring his services before he touched the pitch at the Euros or the UEFA CUP.

well theres ur problem dru..... wikipedia is not an accurate source. Soccernet says borriello scored 30 goals in 130 appearances since 2002 (counting 19 last season)..... where as huntelaar (CRAP) has scored 130 goals in 174 appearances since 2004.

CLEARLY BORRIELLO IS BETTER
