on the borriello front.... he makes no sense. He doesnt have enough skills to play w/ anyone upfront except pato. The way i see it, if pato gets hurt at all. we'll prolly go back to 4-3-2-1. I just dont think pippo, borriello and (lets assume) eto'o can play together... thats my problem. I'd rather have a more dynamic striker in his place who can play both positions. But management is signing a striker who will play his EXACT position... hencee they dont think he can be a starter

And the EU status is indeed true: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...ca/7050416.stm So that's a good thing since we could go for Andrei Arshavin... |

Eto's missed 2 months i think 2 seasons ago with a knee injury...then last year, he didn't start playing until december because of problems with the same knee injury.
i don't know if that qualifies as an "injury problem" (it's certainly no Ronaldo!), but dems da facts... |

I say lets wait until the transfer market actually opens... then we can see things happen. I'm sure by the end of this transfer season, we will have at least 1-2 major signings (Samuel Eto'o and Andrei Arshavin are my picks). I'd also like to see some other signings, including another defender and keeper.

Apparently some unnamed Italian side has put a bid for Diogo... who could it be?
![]() http://www.goal.com/en-US/Articolo.a...enutoId=749938 Arsenal are set to do battle with an Italian side to secure the signature of Portuguesa-SP’s highly rated Brazilian striker Diogo Luis Santo. The chase for Diogo has now become a two-team affair, after the São Paulo based side confirmed that they have received another big offer for his services. Arsenal have previously had two transfer offers rejected, and the latest approach from an unnamed Italian side, has suffered the same fate, although the offer that was made did not fall far short of the club’s valuation. “So far the best offer has been from an Italian side who I cannot name,” Portuguesa director Andre Heleno told the press. “They have bid around £9 million, but we want closer to £11 million. |

I think Giancarlo might be on to something re Borriello. Personally I had always liked him. For those who say that he doesn't have skills Probably you guys saw more matches with him that I have but everytime he played I thought he had some GREAT moves and movement... To me his only flaw as a player was that his finishing made Adebayor look clinical
Now it SEEMS he has learn't the art of finishing....maybe he does deserve the chance......I mean looking at him play is almost like watching Amauri move.....add the fact that he's cheaper and Italian and it may well be the bargin buy of the hour!!!!!Again I haven't seen him that much as many of you...I am talking about the times I have seen him....If I remember correctly he was a hot prospect not too long ago but failed to deliver on his potential....could he be stepping up now?? I remember him comming into a good patch of form right before he got busted for the drugs.

The only plus side to tribal is you can name search. So i search diogo and got this articles... AC Milan keep tabs on Brazil pair tribalfooball.com - December 22, 2007 AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed they're following two young stars currently based in Brazil. Galliani has refused to make their identities known, but it's suggested Sao Paulo midfielder Hernanes and Portuguesa striker Diogo are in Milan's sights. ------------------------------------ also i cant remember where but i do remember reading fiorentina tried bidding for him but got rejected

I honestly think Borriello might have something to prove at Milan, dru. He has to make an effort, and I think he has the skills to do it.

you can only sign 1 nonEU player per window in italian football. So if player carries any sort of EU passport, u can get around putting him in that spot.
