Actually, it's not "per window" but "per season"
If you use the non-EU spot in summer transfer window you can't buy another non-EU outside Italy in the winter transfer window.

From the Juve listed players, none of them took the non-EU spot. Juve didn't even use the non-EU spot. They bought Almiron and Vanstrattan from Italian teams (Empoli and Verona) while Salihamidzic and Sissoko had EU passports (Salihamidzic has German passport while Sissoko has French passport). So, in order to make it more clear, when we say Non-EU players it means players who don't have EU passport, not all the players who come from non-EU countries.

Why would the agent publicly say something like that ? Now Barcelona know that it was only Milan's strategy. Either the deal is done or the article is invented by some journalist. I don't see another explaination.

And how about buy more than 1 non-EU player (example 3 players) in a season (example season 2008/09) but register only 1 of them and loan the other two players to other italian clubs in 08/09 and then register these two players (loaned players) for next season (2009/10). And also then next season (09/10) buy one more non-EU player (which means next season 09/10 the club will sign/register 3 EU-players in a season with 2 of them have been loaned to other italian players). Is this possible? |

De Assis says: "Negotiations between Milan and Barca are alive and heading towards solution, that is my brother in Milan". Something like that...

The conversation should be one way with De Assis doing all the talking to Barca. De Assis: Find a solution before (fill in the date) or my brother will buy his way out of his contract to join Milan for peanuts! Last edited by Mr. Anonymous; 24-06-2008 at 14:19. |

I really hope that Milan isn't the first club that has a player join from the article 17 clause. I think it's tacky, and it will still look kind of bad (just my opinion).

I do doubt Milan would use such article just to sign players in a lower price and I havent heard any club did it before. What I heard is that there was a player from Premier Leauge that wanted to use a certain article (the player not the club) to free himself from the english club so he could sign for an ?irish? club.

I think its tacky too. But...Barca is being pretty stubborn about the matter and are beginning to lose face. Found it...http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=96816 |

You're right. Milan will do better when they buy Ronaldinho normally. For a fee of 22 mlns euro for example.

Napoli: Gargano (Danubio, Uruguay), Lavezzi (San Lorenzo, Argentina), Zalayeta (Juventus, Italy). I don't know about Gargano, but Lavezzi has EU passport and Zalayeta was coming from Italy. Roma: Nonda (Galatasaray, Turkey), Cicinho (Madrid, Spain), Juan (Leverkusen-Roma). Cicinho has Eu passport and Nonda still playing for Galatasaray. So far Tony29 is right about the Non-EU rules ![]() |

![]() Of course that's possible and that's the loophole in this rule. Juve did it with Mutu when they bought him but didn't register him. They loaned him to Livorno instead and then got him back immediately. You can get them back immediately from loan. I don't know why do people think a whole year needs to pass in order to get them back from loan. Juve got Mutu in January 2005, loaned him to Livorno immediately, Livorno registered him and sent him back to Juve in the same month. Then Juve registered Mutu but he didn't take the non-EU spot because they got him from Livorno.
