Abate looks likely to leave due to lack of chances he'll get. Basically when we're loosing 1-0 to Atalanta at home in min 80, emerson will come on, whilst Abate will look on from stands.

I like how Roberto d'Assis is leading us on, saying "The greatest player in the world wants to play for the greatest club in the world" and how it's very likely Ronaldinho will be wearing our shirt next season ... yet he then says "It's very unlikely a deal will be reached before August" ... August! Lets drag this out a bit further!!

Adebayor = £31 million?? Not sure about that. For that price we could buy Boruc, Vargas/Zherkov & Zapata. Would it be better for the team to have

Boruc, Vargas, Zapata, Nesta, Zambrotta, Flamini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka, Pato, Boriello

or

Abbiati, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Nesta, Zambrotta, Flamini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka, Pato, Adebayor.

I think the first line up is better, though i'm not against Adebayor's signing. We'll have to wait and see.

I really hope these latest reports about us signing Adebayor for € 35-40 mio are false. I might be proven wrong over the course of next season, but until then I feel those amounts are ridiculous, and frankly as a milanista I feel embarrassed that our management would spend all that cash on a player like Ade (though i guess it means our financial situation isn't as bad a Galliani tried to convince us). We're talking a player who's had one, 1, good/great season, and otherwise has been mediocre in terms of goal scoring. Also he's very wasteful, and even plays in front of a midfield that provides much more service than ours. Like it or not he may be a one-season wonder, and buying him is a risk (and buying him at that amount is a disaster waiting to happen) - a risk we're already taking with Borriello, but at a much lower cost. In fact, if Borriello is as good as Huntelaar (as Galliani said), then Adebayor is no upgrade. But then again, i may be wrong...

40 million on a whiny, injury prone 27 year old. Hmmm...not a good idea, IMO.

Eto'o is a top name, after Benzema the striker I would get. Benzema will not move this season though.

so we are 5million euros apart from aquiring adebayor...i would be exterenly happy if we got adebayor, r10, CB and GK (r10 isnt a necesity but the rest are)
If we get Adebayor for that price, then I seriously duobt we will get other players that costs more than €10M. Also, had I been calling the shots then I would never pay that much for Adebayor which really haven't really proved himself and plays in a team that gives you hundreds of chances to score.

Adebayor? Hardly the best striker last season.

Ferrari in defense is a cop out. We need a Zapata to start, not just a bunch of "god" defenders to partner the great Nesta. If Nesta is injured we are even mroe screwed with not any pacy defenders at all...

Then again, I mentioned this in XT. Last time we rebuilt our squad we did that over two years. 2001 and 2002. First we got Rui, Pirlo and Inzaghi. Next season we got Seedorf, Rivaldo and Nesta. I think it may be very likely we do something similar now. that would indicate we only get Ronaldinho and Ferrari and then buy a big name striker and defender next summer (unless Borriello turns our a success).

First, it was: Mgmt sucks, they talk too much, and are not buying anyone to strengthen the team, and look how badly we need a "world-class" striker.

Now its: I can't believe we are going to spend £30+M on ADEBAYOR?

You can satisfy some of the people some of the time, but u can never satisfy all the people all the time.

Sheesh...I guess even if we did add 4 or 5 players more to the squad, while kicking out a few (Brocci et al) we would hear: We are buying too many new players all at once!

I think Adebayor is a good purchase, not a great one, but if he, R10 come and the mercato ends there for us, I wouldn't be too upset.

The squad we would have w/ just those additions, might not win the scudetto, but UCL football would almost be assured for the next season, and if we add a defender in the Jan window, we might b able to hav enuf depth to get quite a distance, if not win, the UEFA Cup.

Its one thing to bring in a ton-load of new players, but quite another thing for them to gel, especially in the Serie A where teams opt for a draw, park 11 players behind the ball, and wait for u to make a mistake.

Not saying we don't need a "Zapata" or a new GK, in fact, we certainly do, and Abbiati can go to Siena for all I care, if he thinks he is too good for our bench.

Center defense? Michele Canini's agent said recently that in the next summer mercato (2009/10) Canini would transfer from Cagliari to Milan or Juventus. He's a great talent and one of the most promising defenders in Italy.

True, but that is how things is. Just judging by comments here about half seems to want Adebayor while the other half really want other alternatives. for the sums talked about.. Eto'o or Villa? Yummy. Or just keep the money and get Benzema next year. Just bring in the next fatso from Spain for this season, he could still be useful.

Please always put the source of your news in your post.

But it's all over the Italian press. Gazzetta, tgcom, tuttomercato...

(Agr)

gazzetta

Ade's Italian agent says that his client is 70-80% a Milan player. Arsenal are searching for a sub before they let him go. They have been talking about Gomez, Santa Cruz and Crouch.

Once again, someone should stand by to create official thread for Adebayor

So, Ronaldinho is a 'certain' thing, Ade is coming.

so if we get ronnie and Ade, what formation would we play, 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1, because i dont want to see pato benched.

----------4-2-2-2----------------------|
-------------GK------------------------|
RB--------CB------------CB---------LB-|
----------DM-----------DM-------------|
AM----------------------------------AM|
-----------SS----------SS-------------|

----------4-2-3-1----------------------|

My opinion is that formation is 4-2-3-1..
If Adebyor is coming I'm sure that Pato will be in rotation of attacking midlefield whit Kaka and Clarence..

The formation Galliani was talking about was 4-2-3-1, yes.
-------zambrotta-nesta-kaladze-jankulovski---------
---------------flamini---gattuso------
----------pato-----kaka'----pirlo----
------------------adebayor---------

That is realistic, which means 3 new players in our starting lineup and Seedorf on the bench. I strongly doubt Carlo ANcelotti will ever play Pirlo,Seedorf,KAka',Pato,Adebayor in the same team.
This is just a ROUGH sheme of the formation of course.

As far as Adebayor is concerned, he has showed he can play at top class level and is a player we can use for sure. He is also very young and has a future in Milan. Money is not problem for Milan trust me, we paayed 16 mln + vogel for injured and out of for Oliveira.

I only hope that after the forward we are trying to buy we will not miss on Boruc or Akinfeev, only two normal keepers that are available.
