According to reports in Italy, Roma will now accelerate their efforts to sign Udinese star Antonio Di Natale, following the Azzurri’s exit from Euro 2008 last night.

This summer Roma will have a budget of around €20m (not taking into account any possible takeover) to spend on transfers, plus they will be able to use all the money they receive from the almost certain sale of contract rebel Amantino Mancini.

As Mancini’s replacement, Coach Luciano Spalletti would like to sign Antonio Di Natale, who has long been linked for quite some time with a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

The Italy international had the best season of his career last campaign, scoring 17 goals in Serie A. Roma have backed off Di Natale due to his participation at Euro 2008, but with Italy having now been eliminated, they are ready to really accelerate their efforts to sign him.

The Giallorossi would have to pay Udinese around €12m to secure the 30-year-old’s services and it is believed they would be willing to do so.

Di Natale is also keen to make the move as he realises that this will be the last chance he has in his career to join a big club capable of fighting for the Scudetto, and competing in the Champions League.

Galliani has alllllllll of you right where he wants you all to be...everyone's discussing tactics on how to put Adebayor in the team, and are already accepting the fact that we got him...just as soon as we digest that - boooom out of the blue Barca will sign Adebayor and then we will get our real target (hope its Arshavin).

I'll bet that we wont be signing Adebayor, anyone wanna set the stakes??

not recently... my point was if they start selling though, they might dismantle all peices worth money. i mean whats selling di natale and quagliarella... and keeping zapata going to gain you? They might do the same move as palermo... sell peicesworth money... but alot fo young talent, and rebuild. Sad, but thats what these clubs have to do

That article has a fundamental flaw... Mancini is an attacking midfielder, or right winger (his preferred position). Di Natale is a striker. One can't be a replacement to the other, only a complement.

Arda Turan's agent said that his client is interested in Italy. Juve and Milan are interested in him. After the Euros, everything will be sorted out.

He is a non-EU player though. So if Adebayor joins Milan, Turan won't be able to come.

di natale can play mancinis wing position in there 4-2-3-1.... we basically plays wing as udinese player 4-3-3 alot

Arshavin wants to go with Barcelona, and that's what he stated... in reality, I'd prefer this scenario: Barcelona sign Adebayor, and off load Eto'o, so we could sign Eto'o.

I bet we will. We will sign Ade and Ronaldinho (except R10 insists to play for Barca for another season).

we can't get arshavin instead of ade ( in fact i don't think we will get either ) because arshavin is an AMF while ade is CF so if we weren't lucky to get ade let's get drogba instead ... however that's not the end of the mercato because we must get GK , CM and LB ... nominees are boruc/akinfeev ... veloso/cigarini ... i don't know maybe we will not get an LB at the end ... so i think getting ade/drogba + boruc/akinfeev + veloso/cigarini will make one hell of a team :P :P ... it's too dreamy i know but getting robinho will be a dream come true

You don't think Adebayor is a real target. You must be crazy, mate...

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona is planning to pay 30 million euro° for Adebayor but that Arsenal doesn't settle for that. A deal would nevertheless be close. Berbatov and Stuttgart forward and German international Mario Gómez (22) are the alternative options in case a deal fails.

The talks with the player would be well-advanced and Adebayor is waiting in his home country for the sign saying he can return to Europe and conclude the deal.
