Actually lets keep Borriello and sign Eto'o... that sounds like a great idea for me.

And if you remember right we have two creative midfielders already that would indeed set up plays for both of them... but I'm still for signing another. |

btw, i am not going to lie, ive only seen schweinstagger during euros last last world cup. and maybe 1 bayern match. So i dont know him that well... but he is a winger? What are his defensive abilities.... could he be slotted in midfield behind kaka say with pirlo and gattuso or something?

"A left midfielder, who can also play on the right, he has a hard shot, great dribbling skills and is a specialist at set pieces. He can also play as a defensive midfielder or just behind the strikers." Notice, he's a specialist at set pieces too... something Pirlo always does... and he has defensive qualities as well. He's also scored like 15 times on the national level in 56 appearances... Last edited by Giancarlo; 30-06-2008 at 15:41. |

too bad everyone is on to him now... I just want to see us play another midfielder w/ box to box qualities. Someone like iniesta or joao moutinho. I'm throwing those names out only as an example of type of player i'm saying.
Basically seedorf 5 years younger. Makes us so much more dynamic

. He is usually very good and could become world class. I'm not sure about his pace. we need fast and technical players...man I'm going to get hoarse saying that ![]() Look at the best strikers of modern football Torres and Eto'o....they're both amazingly quick players...in fact if Torres weren't sooooo fast he wouldn't have scored that goal yesterday. Actually if Pato weren't that fast nobody would have noticed him as much either...Speed allows you more leeway so that if you aren't the best finisher, you'll still have an edge on your opponent. I'm really glad for Abate because of his pace....thank goodness we could actually replace Serginho. Now that Quaresma has embraced the dark side of the force the only player that can play that way with the same amount of pace and skill is Nani or Robinho and I'd doubt we'd get either.....Robinho is possible of course but given Real's interest in Kaka it's best not to let them get a foothold anywhere

How many times did Quaresma start with Portugal this Euro Cup anyways lol? The thing about Torres is he does start to tire at about 70 minutes and needs to be substituted... not that I'm diminishing him. He's a true world class player, with some extremely effective goal scoring abilities... and he should be very proud of himself for helping Spain lift the trophy. http://www.goal.com/en-india/Articol...enutoId=743731 I know Goal.com is a bit biased... but they did state some truth... "Schweinsteiger: 9 - Electric tonight, crucifying Ferreira at times. Scored the first goal, and created the second and third. What more can you ask for?" ----- That's from the Portugal-Germany game... Last edited by Giancarlo; 30-06-2008 at 15:54. |

And your sarcasm is just annoying me a bit. I never said Antonini was world class. I said he would be great to have on the bench as a substitute... And Fabregas did play the all important final. I didn't say Quaresma is bad, but I'm saying Schweinsteiger is who we should sign... or even maybe Simao as you said. Why not? |
