Galliani's alleged trip to Barcelona, for me is a waste of time, if the Barca elections are set for the 6th of July.

This would mean that he is hoping Laporta wins (which isn't cut and dry by any means) and the thinking is that if he loses, the incumbent will keep R10....

So shouldn't he therefore go to Barcelona before the elections take place?

That newsmedia can get wind of our VPs itinerary, just goes to show what an impoverished club we have become...no more private jet flights...poor Uncle Fester has to fly first-class on a commercial airline!

imho berlusconi, 100 million and some "world class" players won't save Milan. Take the excuses of the Intercontinental cup and injuries etc out of the equation.

As many have pointed out we have many "world class" players such as Kaka,Pirlo,Gattuso,Seerdorf,Nesta,Maldini,Kaladze etc.

Those same world class players were beaten/held to a draw by the likes of Empoli,Palermo,Parma,Catania,Livorno, Atalanta this past season.

None of those teams have berlus money backing them and none of those teams have world class players. On paper, man-for-man Milan should detroy those teams.

We have the money and the world class players, yet we still lost to mid/bottom of the table teams. How is more money or world-class players going to make any difference?

Fine, we had crucial injuries but so did many other serie-a teams.

Our season started earlier and we had to play catch-up games while playing normal serie-a, coppa and ucl games. Our players were tired and fatigued. I thought we had world-class players and athletes who are super fit?

The english sides have the epl games, the league cup games, fa cup games and ucl games. Their domestic games are faster and require more running than serie-a meaning more fatigue etc. Yet 2 english sides still reached the UCL final.

Now that all the excuses are dealt with and countered, lets get to the real problems:

-squad depth
-lack of rotation
-lack of youth players
-lack of believe in youth players
-wrong fitness programs or routines?
-reliance on too many individuals
-reluctance to not play "stars" even when off form
-players attitude!!!!!!!!!!!

With regards to the bold points, the fact that the same team could suddenly start winning games when certain individuals were injury free at the end of the season when our exhausted players should have been in a worse condition clearly indicates deeper problems perhaps with the players themselves. A lot of the same players were fit and playing when we kept losing.

Where is all this going, well based on our transfers so far, management are addressing the problems imho:

-youth players have been promoted and brought back from loan periods
-borrielo has been brought back and i assume might get more game time than we expect
-some young up and coming players have been bought, unless we already owned Antonini?
-Flamini is only 23 and is already a good midfielder who will probably become a great midfielder in the future.
-Zambrotta has been bought bringing experience and depth to our defence

Yes there are still holes and gaps that need filling/replacing but its only the 1st week of July and still 8 weeks left until the transfer window closes.

And there is the transfer window in January as well to think about.

Laporta will "win" on Sunday if less than two thirds of the socio's who are going to vote will vote against him. So he only needs to have one third behind him, which should be possible, I guess. Although the polls apparently don't agree

According to Il Giornale, Milan are now hoping to sign Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho on loan

I refuse to believe that our VP will fly first class after openly declaring the club cannot afford BIG TIME SIGNINGS.

I think he probably booked some discount jet and the earliest time available is MOnday.

Well, give the man a credit, at least he said that it is impossible to get CR7, if it is Galli, he would probably said something like CR7 is a target and 2 weeks later, he is 80% Milan player, then another 2 weeks, Milan cannot afford him.

If we can't afford £35 million for a player (which is fair enough), how does Piersilvio expect to afford Cristiano Ronaldo?

With Messi's dad saying his son dreams of Serie A, maybe we'll have Messi, Kaka & C.Ronaldo all in the same side!

But then again everyone are allowed to dream, even Berlusconi, but most dreams don't come true... This is a good example of such a dream.

Personally i think our best option is to hope Barcelona will loan us Ronaldinho for a season and then buy Drogba for around the £18-22 million mark.

It would be nice to know why £35 million for Adebayor is too expensive for us, is it ;
(a) Too much money for one player
(b) Too much money period.

If it's (a) then at least that suggests we'd be willing to spend more than the £35 million on a combination of players. If it's (b) then there's no point going on about who else we'd like to sign.

If we could secure those two players in the fashion i have discussed and if we were prepared to spend a bit more on other players, i'd think about Boruc, Zhirkov & possibly Neves/Hernanes (though thinking about it Non Eu spots would play a part if neither have an alternative Eu passport and Zhirkov is purchased). Drogba should have a French passport & Ronaldinho by now should have a Spanish one ... i hope!

Lets look at the prices for the first two, £10 million a piece should be enough, if not we have Simic who could possibly be used as a make-weight for Boruc.

Would it be too unrealistic to think we could not afford £38 million for 3 players? Granted, wages are on top of this but it's not like we'd be paying all of the transfer fee at once, it would be staggered over a number of years as most transfers are.

Boruc, Zhirkov, Maldini, Nesta, Zambrotta, Flamini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Drogba

Seems like a good line up to me and not a vast amount spent. We should still have £5 million left from player sales anyway.

There are only three players I would even consider spending £35 million for right now, if I had the money...:
- Lionel Messi
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Fernando Torres
