Milano84, itīs one game...T. Neves isnīt like that in all games. He run, and try to defend a little, no doubt, but this game is fluke. If theres a player can make Seedorf role in Fluminense are Arouca or the little argentine Conca(Imo better player than Neves).

Arouca is underutilized in this Fluminense scheme since heīs used as a holder midfielder. The guy is a box to box player, full of skills, and not a guy to cover all the team. Conca also is underrated, and can defend and attack better than T. Neves...Neves is a pure AMD.

Sure itīs just my opinion, and maybe T. Neves shows in Europe he can do it all...but I doubt thi happen.

The Federal Council has given the green light for Italian sides to have more than one non-EU player in their squad.

Italian clubs have struggled to compete with their European neighbours in recent years, as they have been allowed no more than one player with non-EU status.

In Spain, clubs may have three and in France four, whereas the Bundesliga demands that German sides have at least eight homegrown players in their squad.

The change in Italy could render Serie A sides more active in the market and could see new players become targets.

“The law has passed,” explained Italian Coaches Association head Renzo Ulivieri [pictured]. “New talent can now arrive in Italy to reinforce our squads.”

For 2008-09, the rule will apply to Serie A sides who have “the possibility of signing two non-EU players where at least one is to replace a non-EU player who has become a free agent or moved abroad.”

This is EXTREMELY important. Europe frankly is too overpriced, and lets just look beyond the EU... Thiago Neves is my first choice...

Well either way, we have to sign an attacking midfielder and striker... and it looks like this opens up a world of possibility. I hope Milan uses this opportunity. If not in Brazil, maybe we should look at Argentina..

I don't see how you can say Borriello sucks when he was the third highest scorer. It doesn't matter if the season is a fluke or not... you should rather hope that he'll be great, instead of hoping he'll suck for Milan.

And not only that I think he has something to prove. When a player has something to prove they generally do better. Give him a chance I say.

(BTW Trezeguet was the top scorer followed by Del Piero).

2 Non-EU players coming in is great news for Serie A, I really am happy for it. However, one of the two Non-EU players coming in HAS to take a spot of another Non-EU leaving the country or a Non-EU becoming a free agent.

Ronaldo, Cafu and Serginho are gone (but I think they all are EU players). Funny thing is both our keepers are Non-EU..Dida is Brazilian and Kalac is Australian.

I think we can now go for Diarra given the right conditions (as Galliani would say). Robinho would be great but I don't know if Real are willing to let him go, he was their star player last year before his injury. This guy is better than Ronaldinho I reckon, but for some reason I still want Ronaldinho...my heart has been set on him for quite a while. Robinho or Ronaldinho for me, I want a new Ka-Pa-Ro!

On other news - HERNAN CRESPO is a free agent. He knows Serie A perfectly, has experience, has a love affair with his favourite coach Carlotti, he knows the team pretty well and will not need much time to blend in, CAN sit on the bench. In my honest opinion, TEN times better than Boriello. I wish we get Crespo but only if Boriello leaves. We dont need too many strikers here.

And I really dont think Milan's financial situation is as bad as Galliani makes it seem. He just b*tches too much. I would love to get a punching bag with the face of Galliani on it - he is driving me crazy.

Here is another "article" from this site... I don't know about this one... it's a possibility. But I think Milan would be more keen to get this keeper than Liverpool. Liverpool have more money problems than we do...

http://www.goal.com/en-US/Articolo.a...enutoId=762023

Coveted Palmeiras goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri is almost certain to join a European club this summer, with Liverpool being touted as a possible destination by some sections of the Brazilian press.

The 25-year-old, who has spent his entire career so far with the 'Verdão', is very highly regarded in his homeland, and was close to signing for Inter in 2005 before they opted for Julio Cesar instead.

As the surname would suggest, Cavalieri hails from Italian stock, which means he would have the added being able to obtain an EU pass should he make the move across the Atlantic.

AC Milan are also said to be keen on the Palmeiras gem in their search for a replacement for their Brazilian flop Nelson Dida, while Benfica, Valencia, Lazio and Fiorentina have all linked with moves over the last year.

ONE SEASON! last year lucarelli was 2nd highest scorer, follwoed by rolando biancho and nicolas amouroso. and gionathan spinesi... ARE THEY MILAN PLAYERS?

year before it was luca toni, trezeguet, suazo followed by lucarelli (20 goals), tavano (19), sheva (19), gilaridino 17.

I can keep going... i'm not even going to both with epl and la liga, although point stands.... Players fluke and score alot w/ small clubs.

Do you want daniel guizA? he scored 27 for real mallorca.

I dont think borriello is skilled enough to play for milan. He is not like drogba or berbatov or sheva in terms of skill... and he doesnt have pippo or RVD's timing, positioning.

Its not easy to play striker for a team like milan, thats not a knock on borriello, i just think he'll cut it. I hope I'm wrong being as he'll prolly be our first choice striker

They're shamelessly unreliable.
Del Piero was the topscorer, of course.
Trez was the topscorer for ~ 35 rounds, Borriello was topscorer for 2 or 3 rounds while Del Piero won the topscorer award in the very last round, scoring two goals against Sampdoria.

edit he scored 19 goals... 5 were penalties. so only 14 in open play in 35 games. He had an electic 2 months, and then was mostly useless

Close, but this is correct.

Del Piero Juventus 21 (3 pens)
Trezeguet Juventus 20 (2)
Borriello Genoa 19 (5)

@Payne, i got the first placed guy wrong but the amount of goals right, either way he was 2 behind. I think he'll do ok and maybe people should give him a chance first before writing him off before he's kicked a ball!

Abraão knows his shizzle Mate, how much do you think Arouca might cost? Is he in the Olympics squad?

Give him a chance I say! I am going to... Genoa isn't that low ranking... but if Borriello is given a chance maybe he'll do fine.

I don't want Dani Guiza... but he did alright when he played for Spain... however, I don't think he's a top player. I think Borriello could be if given the appropriate chance.

In other words, he has something to prove and he is on a mission since the first time did not work out with Milan. Gilardino lost his ambition with Milan, and will probably do better with the Viola... but Borriello has this ambition.

Nor did I ever say he was. But I think he may be a useful striker if we play 4-3-1-2 formation. He can be paired up in that case with a more talented striker, like Pippo, Hernan Crespo or Pato...

Be more confident! I think we'll probably get Hernan Crespo now that he's a free agent (and he's a fine strker for that matter)... and maybe another Brazilian attacking midfielder...

Not that it matters, since a goal is a goal, but in case someone thinks it's important :
Borriello scored only 1 goal in the 10 matches against Roma, Juventus, Milan, Inter and Fiorentina. He scored his goals against the weaker clubs.
Some may say that he couldn't have done much against the better defenses and he may suffer with Milan this year since everyone will play much more defensive than they did last year against Genoa.
