R10 on a free? Who will it be? No keeper, that's almost for sure, even if we all want Dida to walk out "that" door...

About a central defender we havent heard a word, and without a new one, many feel we will end up third.

Many fans think Galliani is lazy...one thing for sure..Silly season is crazy!

From this i conclude 1 of 2 things:

1- you have too much time on your hands by creating this little ode to silly season.

2- you've been smoking something you shouldn't have.

So Mr Poet, can you rise to the challenge and make all your posts rhyme?

Leonardo has basically said the same thing as Galliani (about being poor, wanting Drogba/Adebayor), except when he says it it doesn't sound so desperate! It still has an air of respectability to it.

I dont know how his style would translate to Serie A, but the guy is a bull. He isnt much of a scorer, but makes things happen. He is strong and relentless, giving his all during 90 minutes. But I dont think he is Milan material just yet. He isimilar to Tevez in the sense that he is loved by fans because of his work rate and sacrifice. Neither one is a pure goal scorer, with Tevez being better technically, with better on ball skills.
Bergessio was part of one of the most memorable Copa Libertadores' match in recent history, taking River Plate out with 2 goals.
For some reason, he failed in Europe (Benfica) although he never got a real shot.
All in all, I dont consider this rumour serious.

Sounds like another Oliveira situation... Expensive, second-rate striker from a great football nation....

Possibly. I don't particular care what nation a footballer is from as long as they are actually good. We shouldn't be buying players just because they come from a good nation that we have an obsession with. Yes Brazil produce good footballers, but doesn't mean we should go snapping up every Brazilian (ie Gomez), they same applies for other counties of similar stature. IMHO we should have an Italian core surrounded by quality players like Kaka, best of both defence and offence, hopefully hungry to win players and not just hungry.... (Ronaldo)

Nope...so sorry...but rhyming all my posts would be too much hard work, and sometimes I need to post in a hurry.

And it was too early in the am for inhaling anything but the good morning air...I made that post at 6am-ish JA time.

silly season is insane, yesterday stop complaining we're broke. today 30 mil for adebayor. Personally i'd rather spend 20 or so on ronaldinho and sign a young striker, but thats just my inner dinho/kaka fetish coming out.

just imagine the xmas tree played to perfection. not w/ seedorf too lazy to run, but now we'd have 2 AMs who require multiple defenders. It really wouldnt be different than what barca ran in 2005/2006. It was never really a pure 4-3-3, ronaldinho is not a winger...now if only we could add a little more creativity to midfield

Just a question...do any of you also support a team that is in lower division/local team/out of the spotlight?
I follow a team called SV Austria Salzburg which is a 5th division team in Austria, they were formed after red bull bought out the originial austria salzburg; i am a voting member of it, they play in a stadium of about 1500...just a big difference from following milan in terms of silly season, and all the rest. they are my guilty pleasure i suppose!

So... Dinho issue strikes back again... http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?ac...ad&idsel=20113

And despite Galliani's pessimistic declarations LOL... http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?ac...ad&idsel=20090

Hope that the management keep the transfer spirit up.

ANother problem is contracts, when a healthy company offer contracts, they know full well what they will be getting and if the employees underperform, they will fire them. Is Milan doing that?

I am sick of Galli saying Milan should run like a business and not dip into red, well, then fire some of those over paid players and give out proper contracts. B/c I am so sick of players like Favalli who makes three times as much as someone like Vargas.

And the fact that Galli came out and said we should be thankful we are not selling Kaka and Pirlo in order to stay afloat is just sad. B/c the last time I check, we are AC MILAN not AC GENOA.
Milan shouldn't be run into the red, and we have players that can be sold and I hope we do sell them. The fact they are trying to balance the books is fine. At least they are trying to do that. However, we should also take notice that quite a few players have been sold... the problem in the football world is there are major releases on contracts that don't normally exist in the business world.

If we are going to splash out some big cash, IMO, we should get a quality defender. Don't get me wrong, a striker is VERY MUCH needed. But in the ballpark of 30m euros, Adebayor is a huge gamble since they are basing this on one season in the Premiership (Yes, the "we dont play D" Premiership).

Take that money and get some quality in the back, Sergio Ramos comes to mind. A LOT has been put on getting a quality striker but I think we all forget, we really need a central defender to accompany Nesta. With ??LB??--Nesta--Quality CD--Zambro we'd be set barring any injuries. I think everyone forgets how pitiful the back was this year. I just think i'd rather them go heavier on D and still get a quality striker for less than the big names. Thoughts?

Wow you insult me once again. I may defend Galliani, but I think that was totally inappropriate.

I think it would be nice to get a young player like Diogo... is there a problem about that?

Galliani I'll say is full of hot air. We outbid Barcelona several times for Adebayor if that is true.

yes, but in sports, most franchises are run into the red. Granted you never want to be in the red like manchester united or liverpool. But as long as they are successful the VALUE of the club remains high, and thats all that reallly matters.

If the glazers sold Manchester United today, even with gigantic debt and interest, there would be ALOT of interest to buy, because they r such a branded name. AC Milan would be same if berlusconi decided to sell. That is why debt isnt that important to club of Milan's stature

edit: but sidetracked; I compeltely agree with you there are a number of players on our books who we NEED to drop there contracts. Regardless of what we get inreturn.... brocchi, emerson... you all know the names

totally missed my point, I'd absolutely LOVE to get a young rising star, more than adebayor or drogba (not to say i wouldnt welcome them...but if i had my preference..) I was simply saying, i dont know if Diogo is that. He may be, i'm simply pointing out that we cant judge a player off youtube.
