Don't worry, when it comes GianCarlo even we can't stand him at times...but since he loves the Red & Black he must be accepted.

Kinda like that weird, crazy cousin in the family everyone tries to keep a secret.

In between all this Dinho talk, Storari has been sent to Fiorentina for on loan. See acmilan.com or http://www.acffiorentina.it/it/Articolo.aspx?Ctn=290824

LOL, someone can't accept losing Ronaldinho, i can see

Milan got a brilliant player from the past, with good chances to be brilliant again in the future. One bad season in football is nothing (some say Dinho had 2 bad seasons, but i think he's been solid in 2006/07).
The other big teams from Europe (Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Inter, Real, Bayern, Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus etc) didn't want to take a risk with Ronaldinho and they may easily be sorry at the end. Milan took the risk, even though the history shows that Milan were really unlucky with south Americans coming from La Liga (Redondo, Rivaldo, Ricardo Oliveira, Ronaldo, Emerson). Once it has to work, though.
Will it work with Dinho, only time will tell, but if he gets back to his old self then he will be unstoppable. If he won't, then no-one should blame Galliani or Berlusconi for buying him, because only a fool won't try to sign Ronaldinho.

Well i was the one that probably riped Dinho the most, but i have to say in the end i hope it does work out for Dinho and Milan.
When he is on top of he's game there are none better,i just hope he finds it.
It will be 39million euros at the end of the day for the purchase and salary for the next 3years.At 28 he has 4 years on Seedorf and with that said it will create more depth in the Midfield, which Milan needed. He is a signing that does create more rest for players like Kaka and Seedorf, not saying he will not start just saying he will help more than what Gorky or who every Milan had the last couple of years.
The best thing about signing Dinho is there is hope that he does have greatness left in him and if that is so other clubs will be in trouble ever time they play Milan.

Well we had good luck at times too... just took too many risks. Ronaldinho is younger, has never had major injuries and has a slim build. This is what is different between him and Ronaldo for example...

We had good luck with Kaka and Pato... I would even say Cafu and Serginho gave us many years of good service... but yeah we had our bad signings. It happens to every team.

Ronaldinho is beyond Oliveira, Redondo, Ronaldo and Emerson... he'll fit in well.

i would agree with you on a solid 06/07. the only knock is because he was such a genius in 05/06. kind of a victim of his own success.
i wouldnt call ronaldo unsuccessful. for a midseason transfer he secured us staying in top 4. So even though more didnt come out of him, for a small midseason transfer, he sufficed.

tony, whts your thoughts on juve? Whats going on there.... i like poulsen alot, but he isnt the payer thet need. Perhaps they want to have a defensive mid battle royale w/ milan? Do you think they will sign anyone else, arent they a little thin outwide w/ nedved camorenesi and only giovinco? Just curious....

I'm absolutely thrilled we'll finally get Ronaldinho. Even if he'll never be the Ronaldinho of 2005, he's still top drawer and a great signing.

The Barca fan who's gotten himself lost in here is indeed a very typical Barca supporter, sadly. These people have no respect for the players who've brought them such joy and succes through the years. The examples thereof are in abundance. Saying that Dinho is useless, though, is the worst I've heard yet. You people (Barca fans) never learn. Good luck finding a replacement for Ronaldinho - who will it be? The utterly average Hleb, or maybe that two-game wonder Arshavin (I'll forgive some of my fellow milanisti for briefly wanting him instead of Ronaldinho )?

I'll have to disagree with those of you saying that Messi is overrated - he's not (and Agüero will never be better than him). The reason why he didn't play a big role in the 2006 CL was that he was only 18 at the time, surely he'd be forgiven for not owning the big stage at that age. But the problem there IS with Messi, is that, much unlike R10, he doesn't make the team better - he still plays mostly for himself. Remember the 2006 CL semi final Barca vs. Milan at the San Siro (I know you do ), how Ronaldinho set up Giuly for the only goal? Messi doesn't do that - and I doubt he ever will. And you'll miss that, Barca, and you'll regret being so disrespectful and selling Dinho - "Oh how the mighty have fallen!" they'll say, and yet you'll never learn...This time it's Dinho, next time Messi, then...Bojan.

Hola culè.

I trust little Frankie when he says Barca won when R10 played.
According to me, you're terribly wrong saying R10 was not the reason Barca won (their second Champions' League. . . said enough?) .
You forget when Barca played at San Siro, semifinal first leg: who's made that perfect no-loook assist to Giuly? Me? Cruyiff? Aragones? Rossell? Let me say, being beginners in that kind of trophies, at this level it would be better to admit Barca wasn't able to manage - as usual! - one of the best player all over the world.
Now we got 2 fantastic players, probably the best.
Greetings to Don TheDoor, sorry, LaPorta.

Does Clarence give up his #10?

Like i said few weeks ago and today Ranieri only repeated what i was saying all along...Juve had a great attack last year. The best attack in serie A. Chances were created with ease, while Zanetti (incredibly underrated player) was among the top three assisters. Camoranesi was doing a monster job also.
There were no problems at all in creating chances and scoring. With Giovinco as a playmaker and with another great attacker (don't listen Giancarlo when he talks about Amauri ) , there should be no problems in creating and scoring.

The problem was always the defense. That's why i was saying that a strong destroyer in midfield and a great CB are needed.
Juve did try to do exactly that at the beginning. They went for a DMC. Milan were better and they "stole" Flamini in front of Juve. Logically, i expected Juve to go for another DMC and that's why i was surprised when talks about Xabi Alonso started. Xabi is a fantastic playmaker, but he doesn't defend at all, and defending was what Juve needed.
Luckily the board realised that it's a defensive midfielder that was needed and they bought one of the best destroyers in Europe, Poulsen.

But they failed with strenghtning the defense. Chiellini and Buffon offer security, but Molinaro and Legrottaglie are a potential heart-attack for the Juve fans.
If Juve bought a good CB and LB ( lets say Carvalho and Grosso) then that team would have been very hard to beat, just like in Lippi and Capello days. Great defense, with two strong DMC's that run non-stop for 90 minutes, and with players who easily create and score up front.

Since they didn't buy a CB and LB, all that was left to do was to at least buy a physically strong DMC like Poulsen.

Overall i'm satisfied, but i'd have felt much better if they bought someone really good to replace Molinaro and Legrottaglie.

P.S: As for the width, it's almost the same as last year. Nedved, Camoranesi, Marchionni, Salihamidzic and now Giovinco instead of Palladino.

I say yes to that. Clarence earned that shirt with years of hard work and dedication, with two CLs to show for it.

I say give Ronny the # 20. He played well enough in that in his time with the National Team when he was younger, why not go back to his roots?

Heres another thought.... Ka-Pa-Ro Mark.II?

Maybe the assignment of the #10 is one of the small details that we are still haggling over?

I say we go back to the old system of shirt numbers by position, that way whoever is playing gets the shirt. Plus, then we don't have dumb numbers like 99....oops!
