Nobody here would want to sell Kaka. And it is wrong to even think about selling him.
Selling Kaka now is like selling Maldini when he was 27. It won't happen, period.

The Dinho effect is huge as I mentioned in the summer transfer thread but as much as I hate to admit it is not a 100M effect within a year.

Hopefully, the Dinho effect can compensate for missing CL.

Kerlz did say we should sell him and buy like three or four players. EPL teams have a big following here in the US... something Milan does not have to the extent of the EPL... why? It's beyond me. I'd much rather support Milan because of its class, not because of money. Money doesn't buy success in the realm of sports. EPL teams lack class.

Well, EPL knows how to market itself and Series A did not.
IT happened that EPL had been marketing itself for over 10+ yrs. Hopefully, Series A will began marketing itself with the coming of R10 and catches up to EPL. I think if Milan actually did sign Beckham last year, it will be a huge step forward too.

I can't stand Beckham and he would have never found any playing time here in Milan. He's well past his best... I think signing Ronaldinho will help the Serie A to market itself better.

Still, it's not about money for me.

A player like ronaldinho will bring in added interest but wont help Market a league. Serie A doesnt have TV contracts like the EPL and dont market the league as well. It also has to do with the alot of the poor infastructure of the Serie A stadiums.

But its funny how u came up with the whole Ac Milan makes more in revenue and how u proclaimed to do some research.

It's funny what I stated is true. We make more than Liverpool for example... not all EPL teams make more than we do. In fact Spain takes those honors... yet, Spanish stadiums are nothing to write home about.

It has to do mainly with TV contracts, not stadium infrastructure.

I'm not going to get into yet another argument here. And yes, Ronaldinho will help the Serie A... that's why we must keep Ronaldinho and Kaka.

I'm sure we will rise up the ranks and Barcelona for example is going to take a huge hit financially.

Correct. SKY was and still is the main reason the EPL gets so much money, it also helps the EPL play high tempo 'exciting' football which is more sought after all over the world. Football purists know there is more tactical and technical skill in the Serie A but it's not as marketable as the Primera and EPL as there is not as many goals or attacking play. The fact that stadiums are also owned by clubs in the UK and not loaned/rented from the councils is also a huge revenue maker.

I want to get back to this issue of debt and how its pointless short of manchester united or real madrid getting relelgated they wll have 0 problem even with a billion dollar debt. Everyone sites leeds example but with ManUtd we are taking perhaps the most branded name worldwide in football. Even if the debt rises and the glazers are forced to sell, the queue to buy manutd will be out the door. ex: any billionaire who wants to get involved in football would buy them in a second.
Like with all other things, all that matters is results. Being competitive yearly, and keeping your team in the big matches, so revenue keeps flowing in. A few years of debt are pointless. I think the leeds example is really unrelateable to any of the top superclubs.

as for epl in america, its very simple. americans have a huge anglobias. Most americans scoff at idea of learning a second langauge, you expect them to follow a league in a different language and a different culture? ESPN and co dont help the stereotype, essentially only running epl highlights and not EVER acknowledging la liga or serie a (that is assuming the show anything)

i said this a while back, but i wanted to bring it up again..... anyone in america who gets FSC will ow difference in prudction value of serie A games to epl. Furthering the image to the casual fans that EPL=better. I mean for christ sake, i saw an old portsmouth v. wes ham game right before replay or milan-juve and if i didnt know anything, based off commentary and volume alone i'd assume portsmouth-west ham was the superiorgame

That's indeed probably the biggest stumbling block for the Serie A. But if the Serie A keeps on fighting it will eventually gain more people. And I think a lot of people followed Ronaldinho... so that was a huge boost... probably more than we can imagine.

No kidding... the American commentators are crappy if anything. The only ones that make the Serie A games exciting are the spanish speaking announcers (they go nuts when someones score).

Yes, american commentators are awful in general. They said they were going to beat Ghana and even win Italy during the last world cup.

NO kidding.

andy gray is crap too. His commentary during spain-ital game made me want to pull my hair out. Such bias hatred of italian football typical of the english.... because the english tea ever plays good football or wins... or qualifies?

Yeah...

You know I normally don't get bored during an exciting game and they make me bored. I usually turn the SAP on to get the spanish-speaking (typically Mexican) commentators...

No kidding. I would have asked him... you're pro-Spanish now? LOL. What happened England fail to qualify? What are you gonna do when England fails to qualify for the world cup?
