Qualities to be a good defender? Do you see how many fouls Ambro concedes EVERY game? In midfield it can be tolerated but in and around the penalty box is just disastrous.

ON the other hand, he might have known that too so he committed more fouls. Were he in a DC position, he would have committed less foul. (Just a hypothesis of course).

I think Ambro is more useful when he is running around the pitch stopping attack then be a CB.

I mean, whenever a midfielder turn CB due to age, only a few can claim to be successful, Hierro, Mattuas, and Rai. Ambro just does not reminds me of those three.

A solid defender, to begin with. The qualities are more to do with his physical attributes, tactical discipline and imposing and dominating ability, rather than looking at his rashness. Yes he concedes a lot of fouls, but this is something that can be worked on.

Once again I must have stepped into some strange mirror-reality than the one I used to live in. Tell me how many shots Ambro have scored on throughout his career? I believe even Nesta have scored more with his feet than Ambrosini for us. He is also a pretty poor crosser, which made it pretty painful to see him on the side to put them... "in".

Now that you would suggest one of our slowest players that is strong and great in the air as a wingback is kind of surreal. Hey! Why is the twillight zone theme playing in the background?

I am not sure what makes you think he will be dropped. By any measure we have seen him start the friendlies... Carlo is pretty predictable, like the whole team he puts out.
