what is he worth?
what offer would you, if you made such decisions, say yes to?
if you dont agree with selling kaka for 100 mil, what about 150 mil or 300 mil?

at some point, ALL PLAYERS are worth selling, this is a business.

(sarcasm warning: i personally like to let the club decide, and then either praise/critisize after a few weeks later, after i see the results.)

why would someone sell a player that is worth millions of money, NOT HIS PRICETAGS

but, look at the arrival of Dinho, if Kaka leaves, I say the ticket/shirt sales will drop...

Kaka "happy at Milan"
Saturday 26 July, 2008
Kaka’s agent has said he is happy to remain at Milan and will not walk away unless the club decides to sell.

The World and European Player of the Year has been the subject of reported £100m bids from Chelsea and Real Madrid, but negotiations never even got off the ground.

“It is only normal that every year big clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid make offers for the best players in the world, like Kaka,” said representative Gaetano Paolillo on Sky Italia.

“When Roman Abramovich’s proposal emerged, Real immediately contacted us to say that if the player was for sale, they were also interested.

“Luiz Felipe Scolari has infinite respect for Kaka, but aside from that, it is Abramovich who dreams of Kaka. He is the one dream he cannot make true.

“Has he got a future at Chelsea? It depends on Milan,” added the agent.

“If President Silvio Berlusconi wants to keep him at Milan, then it is highly unlikely Kaka will leave. If a player is happy, he stays with his club.”

The British and Spanish newspapers have tried to stir up rumours of trouble between the Brazilian and the Rossoneri, suggesting the arrival of Ronaldinho prompted jealousy within the ranks.

“Kaka has always been happy at Milan and still is,” assured Paolillo. “He has a special rapport with the fans and everyone here. His family is happy in Milan.

“There is a good relationship with Ronaldinho, as they are friends and have played together for the Selecao. There is absolutely no problem, in fact the stronger Milan become, the happier he is, so of course he’s pleased with Ronaldinho’s arrival.”

There is just one sticking point at the moment with the club’s refusal to release Kaka for international duty at the Beijing Olympics along with Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho.

“He cared a great deal about the Olympics and is disappointed, because Brazil have never won this trophy and he wanted to participate.

“Kaka’s focus right now is on training and the Ballon d’Or. Cristiano Ronaldo is in the lead, but there are still three months to go before the votes are in. He always likes to think big.”

Marketing. Linking a player with a big move increases his marketing power.

money and marketing may be a fair motive, but then why are others (primarily Kaka's agent) outright denying any rumour? To have remained quiet and let the rumours build further would have made more sense to me to gain coverage.

Milan Agree To Sell Kaka For €102m
According to the Daily Star, Milan have decided to sell Kaka to Chelsea providing they receive a world record bid of €102m

Chelsea have been consistently linked with a move for the European and World Footballer of the Year over the last few years, and this summer have been consistently linked with a mega-money bid for the star.

In July it was reported that Chelsea had made a €100m offer for Kaka. The next day Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani confirmed that the club had rejected a “conspicuous” offer from Chelsea but wouldn’t reveal a figure, before adding that Kaka was not for sale at any price.

Chelsea's chief executive Peter Kenyon then refuted talk of a bid for Kaka, but this didn’t stop the press reporting that the Londoners were set to make a huge €150m bid for the midfielder.

Eventually the speculation died down, but last week there were fresh reports in the English and Italian press that Milan may consider selling Kaka to Chelsea next summer for a world record fee.

The Daily Star is today reporting that this is indeed true, and that the Rossoneri will release their star man if Chelsea table a bid of £80m, or €102m.

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is said to prefer the signing of Real Madrid star Robinho, but if this is not possible he certainly won’t turn down the chance of working with Kaka, who he coached for Brazil during their victorious 2002 World Cup campaign in Korea and Japan.
please say this is utter BS

It is. The Daily Star is pretty much just as reliable as the Sun and love to make headlines like this to sell papers....and it works!

anyway, i think Berlusconi, Galliani and Carlo(not to metion Kaka ) have already said that Kaka wont be leaving... so yea, looks like the Media are bored nowadays

and I also doubt that every god damn Brazillian player would have been linked with Chelsea have Scolari stayed with Portugal or signed with another team

we have landed sheva. what would chelsea do now? I have a feeling that this transfer is one of their strategies to buy kaka.

BTW Hasan, sheva stated "Milan is my home" before going to Chelsea. But he left then.

That is the strategy of Chelsea which at least work with Milan, there is strong perception that Milan agreed with Chelsea, that they will sell kaka to them in Jan transfer window or next season.
I only can say if Milan sell best player in the planet, that will be most unfortunate thing for the Club!
