Now a question about MERCATO: What did we loan our Abate? I've seen him like 5,6 times and he looked really fast and strong player. A player with future. Maybe we could use him well in a long season, as a RB or even as a RM. With Zambro playing at LB. Well, aguess he wanted to play a lot and not just occasionally.

One of the only things that has kept me from totally getting nervous is the fact that Juve and Inter have both looked pretty crap in their pre-seasons too...although I think their depth is stronger than ours, they also have CL to contend with, so if we don't f.u.c.k. up too bad against all the tough teams like atalanta and empoli (like last year), we might be able to sneak in through the back door and have scudetto success!

While mrki might be exaggerating when he says that Pirlo doesn't know what he's doing on the pitch at times... you have to admit that Pirlo HAS been underperforming for MULTIPLE seasons now at Milan. People say he's tired...blablabla. He performed MAJESTICALLY at the World Cup '06 where he played MANY more matches in less time. I don't think it's fatigue at all. Why does he underperform for Milan ? My guess is the instructions he receives from Carlo to sit so deep that he ends up being a third CD.

P.S. In the past my hopes used to rise when Pirlo got a free kick...but these days not so much anymore.

well, ye I got to agree, he has been under-performing, the reasons? no really knows :O

I agree also that his free-kicks are not that much accurate anymore, but he still has good goals from FK's

and w/e Role he plays he's still influences the game-play of the team

Does anyone have any inside info on our Uruguayans? They are given 1st team numbers and training with the team, will they be a part of the plan this year? Seems like it from the statement on acmilan.com.

Imho bottom line is that Carlo wanted him after he failed and inter pratically gave him away. We are all nagging for to buy world class players (like Ade, Drogba etc) but I like it even more when we get a player that becomes a world class player with us. (I hope Ronnie will reinvent himself with us). The reason why Pirlo seems to play bad for us and shine at the WC 2006 is that he doesn't like to play with both ambro and rhino. This EC he slapped Don for it after the first match. Why? These players limit his capabilities aswell.
I've seen some games from milan with both Gatusso and Ambro on the pitch that opponents immediately closed down pirlo but when ever Ambro or Gatusso got in offensive position (they coudld try a difficult pas or dribbel etc) the other team let them try it, what resulted in losing the ball. Our opponents are smart enough to realize that all what they have to do is close kaka and pirlo down and our midfield is lost offensively. Add our lack of decent crosses last year and Kaka losing his incredible form (in comparison of 2 years ago) and it resulted in poor play as we seen on numerous occasions.
I hope Zambro and Flamini can deliver what we need and I hope pirlo can shine again.

jtelly, they will be taking them into training and within two weeks they will decide whether to keep them or not. Cardaccio (20) is a CM who said he is more of a Pirlo player than Gattuso, and Viuzi (18) is a midfielder who some claim to be attacking.

mrki and Warro are both right and wrong. Ancelotti is a great coach, no doubt about it, but to be honest he has not been given enough resources to deal with. However Ancelotti is not perfect, his problem is that he is too hard-headed. He always uses the same players with the same lineup when sometimes it is obvious that we need to try something different. Mystik is right when he says Pirlo has been performing badly for 2-3 years now. One good game here and there is not good enough, he is as inconsistent as Seedorf but the difference is Pirlo could not benched. He also is one of the worst free kick takers in Europe.

I really hope that the market is not closed. It is true that Galliani's words should not be trusted. I really am waiting to see Berlusconi's reaction after this 5-0 loss. Big men, big political leaders dont usually take punches in the face and keep quiet. Now its more of pride and self-respect, can he accept people laughing at him for being weaker than the rest?

I doubt Berlu still has big desire to Milan. If he has, he already splash money when Milan played like a serie B team last year and got only 5th spot (will miss CL this year). We all know CL means everything to Milan and Berlu so I do doubt Berlusconi will react like you hope.

been searching all over the net for clips on either Viudez or Cardacio but I couldnt find any. The only thing I found was a comment on one of the youtube videos, someone was saying Viudez is a family friend of his and he is very good skillfully and technically, he is a project like Kaka, and he thinks its a good buy for Milan. What happened to the rumours of Milan buying that Brazilian GK?
