If R80 is not, then who is? Maybe Adebayor? Maybe some young blood in front?

Nobody knows, but claiming already that Milan's mercato is a mis-step and blasting the management as if nothing happened is just plain unacceptable.

The thing is, this is a forum. Its a forum for Milan fans to suggest, celebrate, complain and pretty much say what they want within reason. Being for or against the management doesnt make you right or wrong. If I say Im not content with managment policy then thats the way I feel. If you disagree, then only time will tell. Until then NO-ONE is right. One thing Id like to add is the fact the The European Champions failed to qualify for the Champions League with players like Pirlo and Kaka is an aboslute crime. I blaime the mangement and feel that we may well struggle to get the top 4 with the rise of Fiorentina and Napoli.

Whether, you like it or not, things go off. I remember creating a thread saying Milan should replace Dida. I was criticised, but that thread is still going and very very long now. Oh and Dida has turned into a complete waste of a paycheck (At least for now). So yes you can make predictions in football, whether they come true or not is another matter.

I think AC Milan, the best club in the world, should have a new coach and new goal keepers who are young.
Old players like Gattuso, Inzaghi, Maldini, Emerson, Kalac, Ambrosini, Favalli, Oddo shouldn't be playing for club anymore, cus they are old and are not all that strong. No wonder the gunners scored the rosonerri 2-0.
It is time the coach starts using the youngs players in the club and purchase more young players.

Says who? I wouldn't be surprised if a new defender have been discussed by the management after Nesta's injury and the embarrassing result against Chelsea. At least there have been (unofficial) reports/rumours about players like Branislav Ivanovic, Matteo Ferrari and Thiago Silva.

Actually Galliani did say it was closed, and that was on the official website

there sure was concerns about the defenders, but no-one officially said they were after a defender

the marked was closed after we bought Flamini, after we bought Zambrotta, before and after we bought Ronaldinho. I don't understand why people take those statements seriously. Why should Galliani tell us that they are looking for new players? If they don't find anyone suitable then we will just complain afterwards. Just take the comments for what they are and relax

So all of a sudden everything Galliani says is true? What about Cardacio and Viudez that were signed after Ronaldinho?

Just because no-one officially said we're after a defender doesn't mean the market is closed. If the right player at the right price appears then I'm sure the market isn't closed for any club.

The market is never closed! If a good player becomes available then of course it's worth investigating. Whether or not we are actively looking is another question altogether.

Alex or Ivanovic for Milan. Milan sent someone to London to see what Chelsea's asking. The Brazilian is the favourite for Ancelotti. They want him on loan for 2million and then 12 million later. There is contact with Chelsea (Coriere dello Sport)

If Corriere dello Sport says we might be in for Alex, I would be thrilled. Certainly he would rather be a guaranteed starter for us, than third choice (and thus a bench warmer) for Chelsea. But surely It'd be easier to get Ivanovic, since Chelsea know they've got a great player in Alex, and won't wanna sell. I've always rated Alex as a better defender than both Carvalho and Terry (as I think a big part of the reason why those two are so highly rated, is that they play in such a defensive system, and either way they both made some grave errors last season), and it's a shame to see him rot on Chelsea's bench. Ivanovic, on the other hand, I've never seen in action (as far as I remember) but he certainly was highly rated a year a go, so I reckon he'd be an upgrade to what we have (If we consider him a replacement for Simic ).

Provided there's any truth to this, I'd be p****d off. While we could use a winger to give us some width, we certainly dont need another old and really injury prone player.

I dont see any chance of Chelsea letting go of Alex, expecially since the Brazilian is now their coach - Scolari. Alex is a player that can replace Nesta and we wouldnt feel a thing, but it will never happen. ( aldough Nesta is still a better player then Alex ).

Ivanovic could be a great player for us trust me. On Euro U21 when Serbia&Montenegro ( back then ) lost to Holland, in that tournament Ivanovic was one of the 3 best players beck then. If not the best alongside Drenthe. He can play CB and RB as well.
