Drucurl, I have to say few things:

First, Oddo is NOt ( in AYN sence ) better palyer then Zambrotta, or will ever be. He is the same age as Zambro ( more-less, its a small difference ). He is not faster as you say, not better defender, not better passer, not better crosser. Dont worry my friend, it could be seen againt Juve, Zambro is getting better and fitter, his quality on the right will be a big upgrade in our game - you'll see.

I do agree Milan made a mess with mercato. But we simply couldnt sign whoevery we wanted, it doesnt go that way. Berlusconi always wanted Dinho, not Adebayor or anyone else. He laso brought back Sheva and we will loan out Paloschi ( he needs to play, and cant do that in Milan ).

Sheva ( personal point of wiew, as Milanista and real fan ) - is a traitor and slod soul! I would never took him back to wear Milan's shirt under Curva sud - NEVER! Now, ( from professional point of wiew ) - Sheva is an experienced and quality player that Milan needs for this year. As we have Pato (18), Pippo (35), Boriello ( not good enough, or will ever be under Carlo ).

P.S.
Gila scored for Italy. Nice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

One more CB is needed or we cant win scudetto. But in one thing Dru is right - we signed 2nd best from what we wanted, except Zambro and Flamini.

Hamburg confirmed they would like to sell Vincent Kompany.
The talented Belgium defender made a big fus about going to the olympics were he was forced by Hamburg to leave after just one match. After that match Kompany wanted to stay and had no intention to leave china for Germany however the KBVB (Belgian football association) was affraid Hamburg would sue them and urged him to leave. But Hamburg wasn't very happy with all that fuss and they are willing to let him go. Especially since Kompany hit out at Hamburg that the entire situation in Germany was pretty hypocritical since, Rafina and Diego and Messi for example could stay. Not to mention that, we mis Pato and Ronnie aswell.
Hamburg seems to accept a deal for 9-10mil. Maybe Milan should try and loan him for a season with an option to purchase? That would be ideal imo.
I know Milan isn't linked to him (yet, since a few years ago milan was said to be interested but thought he was to young at that time). But considering our need for a young central defender we should consider him.

For those of you who don't know him
He is born 10 april 1986.
A Belgian central defender who also can play central midfield, 1 m 90 for 85kg.
He is strong, athletic, tall and has very good technical skills, his alternative position is central midfielder (but I think we are well covered there but he is surely much better technically speaking than Ambro and Rhino).
He played with Anderlecht and Hamburg in the Champions leauge and about 100 games in total and played 20 for the Red Devils (Belgium's national team). He was/is considered as a real talent and he has Wenger as a great admirer. But since Arsenal got Silvestre recently I don't think he'll swoop for him.

He has 2 downsides imo he sometimes wants the most beautiful solution, instead of hammering the ball away. Two years ago he had a dreadfull season with injury written all over it since then I he recovered perfectly but I don't want milan to buy an injury prone player again! But I still trust the Milan Lab doctors for that matter.
what do you guys think? he could be our temporary patch with a future with us...

Kompany is a great prospect and depending on the price, this could have been a missed opportunity by Milan to buy a decent CB.

So now Man City have Ben Haim, Dunne, Kompany for CB and Richards & Corluka for RB. Corluka was linked with a move to Spurs, maybe this move is still on. I think mrki might be annoyed if we miss out on any move for him

Can anyone explain to me a couple of things?

1. How many non-EU players are we allowed to sign per season? I know it was 1, and I know it was raised to 2, but I thought the change was to take place NEXT season.

2. Is Sheva EU now? If not, does getting him in a loan deal count against our Non EU number?

3. Is Viudez EU? If not, I assume he's taking a non EU spot. But what if he just played on the primavera squad. Does that still count in our non EU total? And if we were to loan Viudez out, would that give us that non EU spot back?

Basically what I'm trying to understand is that by Sheva apparently coming, how tight are we in terms of selecting a CB. It seems we have very few choices if a) there are indeed 2 non EU spots available, and b) Sheva and Viudez are taking those spots. If that is accurate, we can forget about Ivanovic, or either of the Silva's - our only chance will be Kovac (or Zapata ).

1- We are able to sign 2 Non-EU players this season..that rule was effective immediately. You can bring one Non-EU and also bring a second one if you have one Non-EU leaving your team or his contract expiring.

2- Ukraine is not in the EU and Sheva does not have any other passport. If we buy Sheva then he will take our second Non-EU spot. If he comes on loan he will also take it (I think).

3- Viudez does not have an EU passport and yes he will take the first non-EU spot. If he's kept in the primavera then we still have brought in a Non-EU player to Milan so it still counts. However, if we loan him out I think that we will free up his spot.

4- Ivanovic (and Alex) is a Non-EU and could not be brought in if we do get Sheva. Zapata is Colombian but because he played in Italy last season then it is fine for us to sign him, he will not be one of the Non-EU players.

I dont think Kompany was the right man for us,he makes to many mistakes in the defence and he isnt that good, maybe in the future when he is more consistent but not now.Everyone wants a world class defender and Kompany isnt world class,it would really be weard if Milan would signed him.But he is young and has allot talent, but we want somebody who we really can trust.

To bad Ivanovic isnt coming,Kovac isnt world class but he isnt that bad,if i had to choose i would go voor Alex Silva.Milan isnt going to sign Zapata/Thiago Silva because they cost around 15 million and we all now they aint going to pay that.Alex Silva is cheaper and he is also good from what i had seen on the Olympics.

If Sheva returns then i am happy with that,he has the qualities and experience to add something to the Milan squad.

Next year we are not going to sign a new goalie because we already have Felipe from Santos,we loaned him for one year and next year he will come to us so i dont think Milan is going to buy another goalie...

Our injured players are healing well so at the start of the season we will only Kaka and Borriello not available(they are probably available for the second match).Kaladze,Maldini,Nesta,Inzaghi can play against Bologna.

Man City paid € 13 mil, in the earlier press release it said Hamburg were willing to part from him for € 9-10 mil. (They paid about 8 mil for him 2 years ago). I think city wanted to act quickly and therefor overpaid a bit to make sure Hamburg wouldn't wait.
To bad we missed out on him...
According to Channel four even the Sheva deal seems not so certain...

I've been thinking about Sacchi's statements. I know he's a legendary coach and all, but I have to disagree with his statements about Milan not having a plan.

Yes the initial plan was to find a powerful striker who could play up top alongside Pato and be fed passes from Kaka, Pirlo and our FBs. But once it appeared that Dinho could be had (and for cheap too), the plan was changed. We now are going full throttle on X-mas tree. That's it. We aren't playing things by ear. We had a plan, we changed it once, and we've stuck with it since.

I think Sacchi's comments come from his OVERESTIMATION of Sheva's role in Milan. Sacchi apparently expects the Sheva of old, who will be the focal point of our scoring. I on the other hand don't see it like this. Sheva's best days are behind him. Yes, i expect him to have a mini rebound in form, but I can't see him scoring more than 10 goals this season. Sheva's role will be heavy at first, what with Borriello out injured and the only other striker being Inzaghi (as Pato will be used sparingly since he missed our preseason). Then later on, as Boriello returns, Sheva's minutes will start to fall. This will be compounded by my prediction that Pato will be getting more and more playing time as the season goes on - all at the expense of Sheva.

Sheva is insurance. We don't know how long exactly it will be before Boriello comes back. We don't know how he will perform when and if he does come back, and we probably can expect a small injury or two to Inzaghi during the course of the season. If Sheva finds his old Milan form, then fantastic. But I don't think it's going to happen. That's why I think Sacchi's comments are unreasonable.

Repports are saying that Sheva will be presented at Sunday or Monday and that Chelsea will pay a part of his wages BUT they are getting a option on Kaka so they can capture him next season....im not buying it.

Also the Kovac rumour is getting stronger as Gattuso is injured(from last nights friendly with Italy)and Kovac can also play on the midfield.

They are also saying that Borriello might leave if Sheva comes, because we all now that Borriello isnt going to play with Pato,Inzaghi and maybe Sheva in front of him.Roma and Torino are linked now on him.If Milan could yield him for 15 million then i dont mind him leaving Milan.

If they sell Borriello, then I take what I said about Sacchi back - Milan don't have a plan. You don't buy a guy, then get a replacement for him and sell him all in the same offseason.

Of course I wouldn't mind if Borriello were sold, especially for $15 million AS LONG AS THAT MONEY IS PUT TO A WORLD CLASS CB - Like Zapata.
