Why would Boriello be behind Pato, Inzaghi & Shevchenko? Pato's not good enough to lead the line, Inzaghi can't do it for match after match and Shevchenko, well who knows what kind of form he'll show if he comes here.

Our front 3 should clearly be Kaka, Ronaldinho, Boriello with Pato & 1 other on the bench. It would be pointless bringing back the 3rd highest scorer in the league last season to not play him.

Ljungberg ain't a primadonna. He is a very hard worker. It is just that his body is fragile and needs constant mending. Obviously he is not a player for us.

Senderos?

So, the Sheva deal now seems off. What on earth is going on? If we need a CB or a striker, let's just go out and get one (within our budget of course). I'm getting quite fed up with Milan getting involved in lengthy negotiations with the deal coming through extreme difficulty or getting called off at the end. Other teams and even the Milan of many years ago would negotiate and conclude a deal, if it means overpaying a bit, then so be it especially if we really need a player. We end up trying to set up deals purely on our own terms, and when the other team doesnt agree, then the deal is off. We've seen this with the transfers of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho (on again, off again), Ivanovic, Emerson, Zambro, etc...When are we actually going to do a proper deal?

What are you talking about?!?Proper deal?!?

Like the deal when barca said they want 35 mill for ronaldinho, we should have said: " Yes, thank you Mr. Laporta."?
Or the deal when Real said they want an option on Kaka in exchange for Ronaldo?

We bought all those players except Ivanovic, who I think we will get in the end, end we got a pretty good price for them.

You guys get excited like little children ( sorry, no offense ) every time galliani says something. It's just strategy, obviously chelsea played hard ball yesterday and galliani did this to show them that it's our way or the highway...
He did it with barca and real and in the end they decided to take our offers.

Sheva's wages are an issue here, we don't want to pay for them, but chelsea made a mistake when they showed they don't want sheva anymore and now they are sitting ducks for Uncle Fester.

The transfer window closes on 31st of August. That's 10 more days.

We need a defender and maybe a striker, so we will get them.

Yes, proper deal. Like the way players used to be signed. Identify your targets: 1,2,3,4, negotiate with the relevant teams, and close the deal. Like how Fiorentina signed Vargas, how Madrid signed Van de Vaart, how Barca signed Yaya Toure last year. This is how football teams normally do business. The long drawn out transfer sagas do happen, but they should be happening for the absolute big players, not for players like Ivanovic.

See the reality. Look how Man Utd, Liverpool, Inter, Juve, Fiorentina and every other club for that matter have conducted their transfer activities, and see the sort of haggling and hassling we've been doing the last two seasons. It's really frustrating and quite frankly, it is a disgrace coming from a club that's owned by Italy's richest man.

This year's transfer may seem really good to some of you, but look carefully. Aside from Flamini (who we got free) I don't think our other signings guarantee success in the medium to long run. Say what you may, but Zambrotta is on his way down, he is now 31 and has lost some of his speed, Ronaldinho is and will be a gamble, Boriello is probably not good enough for us, Abbiati is not the solution---Fiorentina has a better starting GK than we do.

He didn't get to be Italy's richest man by acquiescing to every demand. Reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Bill Gates 'buys out' Homer by destroying his internet start-up. The guy knows business, he knows how to make money. Its his team, and if you think you can run it better, raise the money and buy it yourself. Stop complaining about how he does business and be grateful he hasn't sold Kaka yet. Lets not make the same mistakes Barca made with Ronaldinho.

I don't know about that. I think once we secured Ronaldinho, our game plan for the season was set. We're stuck with the Xmas tree. He has to play Ronnie/Seedorf and Kaka together, and this means any hopes of playing two real strikers for any long stretch of time is not going to happen (barring any serious injury to two of those three). He wants the striker to increase his options for the season, not to start off with a new system. This means that his preparation is already based on the Xmas tree, and my hope is that the non-Pirlo alternative is a 4231 Roma style with Pato/Kaka/Ronnie behind Borriello.

If these Senderos rumours are true, i would rather we got him on loan as i don't see him being any better than Kaladze or Bonera, plus on his day he can be just as chaotic/unstable in defence as the Georgian.

Ancelotti has stated that he only wants a CB that's better than the ones he currently has, he wants someone for the first team and not for the squad. So i don't see how Senderos (or Kovac for that matter) fits that bill.

Obviously top CBs are hard to come by and even harder to get from their current teams, so a compromise has to happen somewhere. Either we fork out for a decent player or Ancelotti has to settle for another squad player ... i know which option my money is on!

I have been watching Arsenal a lot last season and senderos was one of the best defenders in their squad...
A premiership defender, especially one like Senderos could really turn our defence around.

If they do get him, that's another great purchase for them.

Senderos? The man even Arsenal supporters call Calamity Senderos! We'll be the laughing stock of Europe. Judging by his time in England, he's not the solution to our problems at the back. He's no better than Kaladze, he's even more error-prone, the only plusses are his youth (and room for improvement) and his size. Surely Kaladze has a younger brother, we could sign instead?

We can surely do better than Senderos? He has no pace, and as Jim has indicated above, he is prone to some serious lapses.

Wouldn't be my first choice...Darmian isn't looking bad to b honest.

I think we should just promote him, and end the mercato re defense...

How on Gods green earth was Senderos ever at any stage Arsenals best defender??????? I would be happy with Toure,Clche, Sagna and even Gallas who isnt a spring chicken. But senderos is terrible, Bonera and Kaladze are both better.
