The Senderos rumor is now over,Arsenal would not want to sell him or loan him....

It was just a media rumour,i am going mad,each day a other defender is linked at us,it doesnt make sense,they say we are in Kovac talks,so why are we turning to Senderos and what about Marquez,Alex Silva,Stendardo and T.Silva.They were also linked to us its a mess now.We just have to wait untill the end to see witch defender will come to us.Because Milan only approached Ivanovic official.

If we need a replacment for SImic, then Senderos is not a long way off. However, if we are looking for someone to replace Nesta, Maldini, or Kaladze in the longer run, then I dont think Senderos is the answer.

Why would we need a replacement for Simic, he never played. This si the whole point. We dont need bench warmers as the damn bench is on fire. We need someone who can give us an excuse to rest Maldini and put Kaladze on the bench.

Liverpool: see Gareth Barry deal, where the manager and the owners are fighting about paying up the 18 mill for the player. Been draging along all summer.

I don't think there's alot of other clubs in Europe that have done bigger & better signings than us this summer. But it's all opinions of course

Have our signings solved our problems of last season? ... Lack of a topclass striker... Goal keeper and aging slow defenders.

It's not true that players used to be signed differently before.

IMO, it's simply that today we are able to get info ( 90% made up info!) all the time and monitor the negotiations. 10 years ago that was impossible.

What about the saga with amauri( juve, milan, inter), CR( real, barca), robinho ( chelsea), trezeguet(barca), berbatov (man.utd.), quaresma, drogba, lampard( all inter), sheva( milan, roma, sampdoria, napoli), corluka(did he sign for tottenham or not?!), barry...and so on...

The fact is that there are lots of football sites that are eager to get that extra fresh news that somehow everybody missed and, to get it, invent staff.
Even if they don't invent it, we are now able to follow the negotiations day-by-day so it looks like a hassle.

Remember the nesta transfer back in 2002? We signed him on the last day of transfer window after the negotiations which lasted probably whole summer but goal.com and such sites weren't there to write about it every day...
( i am not sure when was goal.com first created, just making an example)

I don't think there is anything wrong about it, that's why we call it silly season...

Agreed. But the thing is, it's much more difficult to find a good young defender than a good young striker.
