In addition it would be very difficult to find a high calibre central defender(s) and defensive midfielder(s) from outside italy. It's much easy to find or train italian players from such departement (CD and DM). We are not Inter with respect of quality standard for defensive positions especially the CDs. We must have the best-rank players for our CD and we know which nationality most these players have.

That's why Milan still and will mantain its image as a club that always send many italian players to their national team.

True, Milan will always maintain its Italian Contingent and Gilardino for the exagerated price 24 million is the only way to do to obtain young quality Italian players unless the club grows its own.

But what were seeing in the past 3 seasons, is that due to the exagerated prices of young Italian players, Galliani has been investing in older more accomplished players like Favalli, Oddo,Zambrotta, Brocchi.

My god I was on some Chelsea forums! And the arrogance by those stupid fans is unbelievable! Its like they live in a hole in the ground and only watch Chelse and England...

Milan is nothing, history matters nothing, serie a is worthless ( most titled league in the world ) and so on. Sheva was never good, he was just scoring in an inferior league! MORONS! I hope United kills then once again so they win **** ONCE AGAIN! As it has always been that way anyway.

Now the CB...we wait.

I'm finding it hard to bite my tongue on this shevchenko debacle, only time will tell how the situation will pan out and if it's been a good decision or not.

Will Berlusconi's selfishness bite him on the ass or will everything be just as it was to the joy of a surprising amount of sycophantic fans.

As more and more of the nonsense of silly season, players buying out contracts, astronomical wages, players out of touch with reality, I've felt more and more distant from them. The only players that I have consistenly loved since I followed Milan in '88 were MVB, Pippo and Paolo. But more and more, I only have feelings for the shirt; if players want to go somewhere else for money or glory or whatever, just go. If you want to play for a great team with great history, support, and motivation, then stay. If you stay, then give it your all and get on with the business of playing your heart out each and every game. I don't care if Milan played with 11 no-name Italian amateurs, if they played their asses off and loved representing the shirt, then that is fine with me. Of course I want titles and glory, but not at the expense of looking foolish, of having players unhappy, or wanting to leave, or whatever. Pippo represents the best of Milan, obviously Paolo too.
Forza Milan!

yes Jim_UK, right.

do AC Milan sycophantic fans remember we failed to qualify for a Champions' League place?

And we finished for 2 campionati very far behind the Moratti circus ...

We have to admit that there were some mistakes in the last 2 summer market, with no doubt.

talking about $heva (45 mil. €),

[forgetting Vieri and Amoroso],

he was replaced with
Gila (25) gone for 16
Oliveira (22), gone for 10/12
then with Ronaldo (9),
then Pato (22) and finally Borriello (5,2, even if he was just ours) ...

no, it's not over beacuse our smart board gives us $heva again ( 15 mil. ? )

If our lacks during these 2 campionatos were found in

- the keeper,

- the substitute of Pirlo

- the power forward in order to beat all the small teams that defend in 10 men at San Siro

- a world class CD

well, Abbiati may be ok,
Flamini may be considered in a certain way ok too,
about the 3th need, if u tell me that Sheva is the answer,
for the 4th, why not Roque Junior?

this is all what we want to hear from Kaką

Am I the only one that thinks Kaladze and Bonera are good enough?

they are good sometimes but kaladze is a constant threat...almost every game kaladze makes one or two heavy mistakes, only if a player like nesta is there to hold his hand we can win...i am afraid bonera isn't good enough to cover for both of them.

Bonera---Nesta= solid defense
Kaladze---Nesta=solid defense if kaladze isn't having one of his bad days
Kaladze---Bonera=Looks shaky to me

No nesta= No defense

That's a good point, but can't we count on Maldini this season in case Nesta is out? I know getting a CB would be perfect, but isnt the team we have now adequate? I don't know anymore, i'm just asking.

You've completely missed my point

The sycophantic element i was referring to was that of Shevchenko not of Milan itself, the fans who are over celebrating his return without seemingly thinking of the negative impact his arrival might have.

drucurl will become famous soon enough
He WAS great for us...and I'll never forget the Lazio game where he came on and rescued our asses but he WAS also crap for Chelsea and that WAS very very recently.....people who speak of the dearth of chances and EPL being a poor/ inferior league with less tactics should keep in mind that :
1) he has had ENOUGH chances but couldn't integrate himself
2) His shot selection seems to be a thing of the past
3) His shot accuracy would make Gila look like a marksman
4) HE DESTROYED MUCH OF HIS LEGENDARY PACE BY TRAINING BADLY...There was an article where Desailly advised him to alter his routine to get back his speed.....hope for our sorry state he could get back some
5) he scores for Ukrraine alot which I must admit is somewhat comforting...BUT he is the focal point of attack there ......seems like another Milan-Gila debacle again imho
6)Chelsea and ManU made the CL final + Arsenal and Liverpool were in the quarters.......the EPL couldn't be that much of a crap league if they have been owning the cl that way
7)Conversely...if the epl WAS a crap league...shouldn't he have been scoring by the boatload

So all the silly excuses why he falied at Chel$ki don't fly either

jim_uk, I was thinking just about the impact caused by the arrive of $heva . A waste of money, difficulties inside the team, the impossibility now to sign a no EU player, changes of strategy, continuous contradictions, the holes that remain the same in the team, the dissatisfaction of a gret part of the fans...

the only hope is $heva returns as at his old times

I know what you mean, the idea of maldini saving us while nesta is out and vice versa is the only thing that helps me sleep until we get alex!

Another thing, our midfield is way stronger than last year and our fullbacks are better so, hopefully, that should be enough if our mercato is over.

I wouldn't think about money, eu spots,or strategy, for me the biggest problem is that this could brake apart our dressing room.

Last year when they started talking about him coming back some players (can't remember who, gattuso and maldini maybe- help please) said they don't want him anymore. Now we see that carlo doesn't want him and that berlu doesn't care as long as his dear sheva comes back.
Same goes for ronaldinho, berlu's son said publicly that milan doesn't need him and that we need a striker like drogba or abebayor.

The thing is that obviously no one can tell berlu anything...carlo, galliani...just puppets.
This could turn ugly if things go wrong

I'm not a betting man, but I would place money on Carlo not being coach next year...and not entirely through things that are in his control.

difficulties inside the team, I wrote above...

There is only a problem, a big one, which it has been formed owing to an incredible number of mistakes.
$heva is simply the last one.
