Philippe Senderos our new capture!

Its almost official..im not sure about senderos' quality but i know he's 23 so we'll have to wait..he's on loan for 1 year with a buy out option..i think that this is the safiest way to buy a player you're not sure of his quality..

Although he made some bad perfoemances at the end of the season,i think he has some potential,especially learing from nesta and paolo..

d you think it is the right choise?

I can't believe for a second he's the quality CB Ancelotti wanted when he was talking about bringing in someone who was better than what we had already. However, after spending money (or so it seems) on Shevchenko, all we were left with were loan deals, so in that respect he's ok.

His physical attributes are fantastic and what we need, but he is prone to losing his head like Kaladze. I also don't buy this theory that because he can train with Nesta & Maldini, this will suddenly smooth out all his faults and make him a much better player. I mean, has this happened with Kaladze? No. The Georgian still makes bad mistakes even though he's been with us/those players for many years.

The heart has ruled the head in the Shevchenko transfer and the knock on effect is that we've had to settle for possibly second best in the CB department. However, i remain hopeful that Senderos can prove his worth and become the defender his attributes & potential suggest he can be.

I think we need player like Senderos. Lets welcome him.

I think his physical presence in our back line in exactly what we needed after Stam left. He's only 23 and time is surely on his side.
I disagree with Jimbo that maldini and nesta will not help him to become a better defender. Jim, kaladze is a very good defender, maybe he wouldn't be one if he played in, let's say, inter without such great defenders on his side.

In his point in career he can only get better and maldini, nesta, kaladze and costacurta are the right people to help him, unlike EPL and wenger who was always attack-oriented coach.

For me, this is a great end of a great mercato.

He is an Arsenal player, or was up until today ...plays (starts) for the Swiss national team.

He is young, only 23, but has tons of potential, but tends to make costly mistakes, and hence dropped down in the pecking order at Arsenal, worsened by the London club´s purchase of Silvestre from Man U (poor business from Arsenal/Wenger, but that is another story).

Dont know if he is the "quality" player that we need, but certainly is a bit better than Simic, if only in his youth. The loan option was the smart, and maybe only way to go for us, what with $heva´s aquisition.

Personally, I would have preferred a "Zapata" type purchase...ie young, with experience in the Serie A..but such is life...could have been worse, but could have been a lot better IMO.

Hes only 23 and for a defender thats young. He hasnt reached his peak and has potential. Physically hes great, hes got decent pace, strong, and commanding in the air.

But he is no leader in defence although he does make a good foil much better then bonera and khaladze.

Finally we got an talented and young Defender. Welcome to AC Milan!!! :-)

great signing guys, he is a very good backup for nesta-kaladze, i can't believe arsenal let him go, they only have 2 decent defenders.

We already have so many average defenders! Even it's loan, what we need a great CD not an average CD who is just like our Kala or Bonera (mistakes-prone).

This frankenstein lookalike isnt good enough to sit on our bench. The only possible reason I can see Milan signing him is to make the average Kaladze and Bonera look like Gods!!
