It seems that Senderos Move is true...
I think Milan did not need a starter. they needed a sub. In fact, I'm not that happy but he is young and very strong Physically. not sure about his technical ability.I don't think he will make it to the first 11 bcos i know Carlo doesn't usually trust young ones specially in defense.

Management have over all done a good job, but Senderos wasn't the best option for CB, not was Sheva a good purchase at all - and so on. And who says the management-fans aren't prone to the "I told you so"-rant, who says that they, if our seasons turns sour by february (God forbid), won't say "Galliani sucks - we should've acted differently in mercato" etc. You can't predict those things, as little as you can predict how the team will fare once the season gets going. EDIT: And the excellent young central defender: the Brazilians Thiago Silva, Alex Silva and Miranda (all 23), and of course Zapata (21). Last edited by Ceceves; 25-08-2008 at 16:16. |

"oh no, sheva sucks, he is a traitor, he is now a crap player, why did we bother?" "senderos?! ZOMFG!!! senderos SUXORZ!! he is like worse than Simic, noone ever wanted him!!" "ronaldinho?!!! ffs!!!! he is a marketing move!! we will sell more shirts but nothing beyond that!" now an opinion would be something like "senderos isn't really the player we should have got, I watched him the entire last season, Arsenal lost all the games with him playin and at the age 23 he is definitely too old to improve" there used to be time when people first warmly welcomed the player, then inspired him, and then shared the joys of victories with him... now, only bitching here... Hope MM is the same as always,as .... i am back for good ![]() Till now i have seen some good transfers like Flamini, Ronaldinio and now Senderos, which is young and thats the spirit i want to see in Milan. I hope Kaka is well this year also and also i accept that Sheva is again a Milan player, so its fine with me, he will help us in the campaign (he will never be my beloved Sheva again though) Happy to be back at mm ![]()

Let's face it, Milan isn't gonna splash the cash anymore. From here on out there will probably be just one massive signing maybe once every other year in between lots of stop-gap signings and cheaper investments in South American players.
This has been the policy for a while now. It's time we Milan fans accept this reality. Big money signings, for the moment, they're going elsewhere. Hopefully soon the cycle will return to Italy like in the 80s and 90s. We will see. But c'mon, there's no need to be melodramatic about new signings we think are bad choices. In regards to Senderos, one thing I noticed about him was he's not very good in Premiership style football, which is just too pacey for him (like another guy we just signed). But when he's plays the slower, continental style in CL games and for Switzerland, he seems to adjust to this style better. So I think he'll do well in Milan, when he gets the chance to play. If he gets a chance to play.

In short, he has a great deal of experience for a young player, but he's never excelled at that "highest level". Is Zapata unproven? He's had a couple of impressive season (great ones for someone in his early 20's), but of course he suffers from playing in a mid-table club - Just like those three Brazilians suffer from playing in O Campeonato Brasileiro. In my eyes Senderos has failed to live up to his early potential, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. |

For sure Milan has signed few players that have future with us.
1. Ronaldinho - he is not an old player, he is 28. And that means 3-4 years of TOP football as we are talking about the worlds most talented player without a doubt. If Dinho manages to train hard Milan will have a player that we dreamed about 3 years ago. 2. Flamini - for me brilliant mercato move, as I see Flamini a player that can offer much more then Ambro ( aldough it sounds harsh on our wice-captain ). But Flamini is a tipical super modern midfielder, fast and tactical, with normal technique. As Ambro and Rino do not have technical abilities of Flamini. I thing you all saw in friendlyes how much space does Flamini cover. Way more then Ambro. Only Rino at top shape can cover such space. 3. Zambrotta - At 31 he is a player that can play on VERY high level, he'll just need 5-6 games to make his feet work properly. Zambro is excellent improvement on Oddo. 4. Senderos - I saw him many times, he didnt look good. But as some say, he is 23. Did GREAT against Milan ic CL though. Maybe Senderon can play well for us! 5. Pato - its like a new signing, trust me. He is magical. 6. Sheva - as Pippo is 35, Boriello is injured and is a good palyer,. but a player that cant make a difference on the pitch, and PAto is a BOY, Sheva will do his duty well Im sure. ( from personal point of wiew, Sheva is not welcomed back by me ) 7. Abbiatti - improvement over clowns Dida/Zaljko - for now he is in good form ---------------------------------------------------------------- My only concern, as has olways been in Milan, is that Carlo is not a coach that knows how to manage team in serie a. The way his tteam plays is too complicated and innefective. Milan plays with ups and downs, and that costs points. I hope we will play cruel football this year, aldough with Pato-Sheva-Pato-Dinho-See-KAka'-Pirlo, I dont see it happening ![]()

I WATCHED his games against Milan and some other top EPL clubs, and he was a reliable, tough, aggressive defender (kinda like Gattuso in midfield)

Mrki, I disagree that Carlo couldn't manage it in Serie A. He did win it in 04/05 with Gila - Kaka - Sheva.
We'll see how it goes this year. |

1 serie A title... 7 years. In that period, only juve was a challenger first 4-5 years. last couple only inter where true challenger. He is a better version of benitez in liverpool. Dont get me wrong, great tactician in europe, his record shows. but if u look at squads milan has had over his perio.d 1 serie A title is really underachieving

None of the teams you mentioned above achieve that. The take-home point is not that Ancelotti is a great manager; we probably all know that. The point I'm trying to make is that you really sometimes have to sacrifice one for the other; or at least that's the case for Milan (I know Barcelona and Man U have managed the double). Don't get me wrong, but for the past 7 years or so Milan's squad has not been competitive enough to achieve on both fronts, and I hope you'll agree with me on this assumption. Players like Brocchi, emerson, Tomaason, Simic, Gila et al. are not enough to bring home the SCudetto when clearly Seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo, Nesta et al. are overused.

And I forgot to add: Even the players may think in terms of this: Either CL or Scudetto, but not both. We don't have the mentality strong enough to go for both. The glory of achieving in CL is so tempting, and so rewarding that I won't be surprised if some players think, "heck, who cares about Scudetto? I just want to enjoy CL".
