Maybe you forget that after the injury that hit him (this happened after he played (most) all games as starting line-up in old-Seedorf position which means Ancelotti give him huge chances that time), he couldn't reach his good performance (performance before injury) again. He couldn't play with consistent performance in 2006/07 and this was his huge problem which made him unable to get chances like he got before. He admitted this in the summer 2007 and made like a target or goal that he wanted to play well and consistently.

In 2007/08 his problem was that he didn't do what Carlo thought like he dribbled the ball too much (he couldn't play effective football). His confidence was getting low and lower with little chances he got. In this season, Carlo had contribution for Gourcuff's 'failure' but his decision not to play Gourcuff was logic. Carlo needed a ready player who could translate his words into good performances in the field.

I still remember Gourcuff's probably-worst performance with Milan (ending the last season). Since that time, I just thought that he should go to other club to gain something that he missed in his young age, GAMES!

Gourcuff was not wonderkid nor world class talent. It was Galliani's co fault to bring him to Milan withouth sufficient qualification. AC Milan are not Arsenal, Milan are world class team with world class players especially in the midfield. Gourcuff should be vice Kaka (next Rui Costa's role in Milan) but we know Kaka is unreplaceable. It's not Gourcuff's fault to enter the situation, it's Milan board's failure to bring him in such situation that only world class talent can PROBABLY handle (compete with world class midfielders):

Gorky in Bordo plays exactly what Seedorf plays with us, with even more freedom, every single attack has to go through him at least twice. You`d be surprised how involved he gets in the game, and whats more important he does it really good.

Or perhaps Milan could have loaned out Gourcuff earlier to second-tier or bottom top-tier team for expereinces, then bring him back at around 25/26 and get used to the Milan system, and become really strong by the team he is 27/28 (and can last until 33).

Theoretically yes, but Gourcuff's contract expires when he's 24, and having been loaned out for five years why would he extend it?

When exactly does Gourcuff's contract end? Seedorf, Ambrosini, Gatusso and Emerson will all be either ending or coming to the end of their careers in the next 2 years. Pirlo wont be a spring chicken either with Ronnie hitting 30/31?

Ideally Gourcuff, would be sent on loan for 1 or 2 years. If he develops into the player he promises to be then he will walk into the Milan side within 2 years (Maybe even 1). The question is when his contract ends. This is his 3rd season as a Milan player so if he hast extended in that time then we could lose him in the same way we got Flamini.

EDIT** After some research we have him until 2012:

http://www.soccerfairy.com/french-mi...-contract.html

Unless Galliani has given Bordeux an option to buy he is ours.

For Gourcuff, let's follow his progression and we'll see what our management will decide, we unfortunately can't know what is going to happen with him: he could turn into a WC midfielder with confidence gained thanks to the games played (+ starter spots in French NT), and anyway, our management wouldn't take him back for example.

And to the contrary, he could play well for 7 months, have an injury, come back to Milan and play like he did before with us after his injury and we would say it wasn't a good thing to bring him back.

Everything can happen in 1 season !!

You're not getting my point. I acknowledge that he wasn't playing as well after his injury. But my point was that his competition wasn't playing all that great either. I.E. They were all at the same level. When Seedorf has 3 bad games in a row he still starts the 4th. Same with Pirlo, same with Gattuso etc. Gourcuff has 1 bad game and he's benched for 5. Not that it matters now but that's what happened.

Shut Up STITCH
We had a GREAT MERCATO
No GK
NO WC ST
S#!tchel$ki
Pato booted on bench
Zambrotta - FORMERLY the best fullback (emphasis on formerly)
Oddo gone
Senderos -
No wingers: (Quaresma and Dani Alves are overrated garbage)
Who needs wingers when you've got Pirlo
A diminished R10 (he just ran for the first time today

I honestly hope the kool-aid drinkers are proud today when their stars played and the unecessary players like Quaresma scored for Inter and Alves is doing great at Barca

he;s slow. talented no doubt, but doesnt work w/ kaka. we NEED SPEED WITH KAKA. Look at him w/ sheva in hayday... and look at him post. i like gorky, but he doesnt fit a need. WE need speed around kaka. if we wanna play 4-2-3-1. atleast 1 player next to kaka needs to be speedy winger CR7, RQ77 type. Van Der Vaart wouda been nice. Di Maria will be star in future.... think of this...

---------borriello---------------

--dinho--kaka--speedy winger--

u could sub pato in for dinho too and have 3 speedsters running a counter. Or u could switch kaka and dinho, its irrelevant, but another fast guy who can run at defenders and provide crosses will improve our whole team. Slow possession passing waistes kaka's skills. and you all know it, he is so fast and graceful on the counter.
Him + sheva in 2004/5 was brilliant. How about todays run where he took all genoas defense. Had ANYONE have been near him we would have scored. perhaps move back to 4-3-1-2.... w/ pato and borriello. it would mean dropping dinho and seedorf, but as a team we'd play better. Unless dinho improves his game and runs more, hes really only detrimental to kaka.

my point is there is room for perhaps 1 slower guy... but weneed to put more speed around kaka to utilize his amazing playmaking abilities on the run

I would like to buy 1989's Sacchi over anyone this winter. When will we stop to treat people too gently? Treating people gently is nothing wrong, but the treated people have to know think for the club more. Seedorf should know that he is not playing world class football now, Maldini (with all my respect) should know when to stop. In my opinion, our too gentle action makes players more relaxed than fired up to devote for the club. Sacking Ancelotti immediately and signing a good attacking-style coach now may be a good boost and send a good warning to the player. I appreciate Ancelotti's work, but it's high time his reign in Milan ended.

And who would you sign? What top attacking-style coach is available just a few weeks into the new season?

I don't have a compilation of his goals Dru so I can't comment about the majority of his shots are toward the center of the goal, but at least I remember clearly his first serie A goal when with his very first touch, he smashed the ball to the bottom corner of the net.

After all, a goal is a goal, and it's always welcomed even if the ball hits the woodwork twice, then the GK's butt before going in. I mean, we can't expect to see a goal with an accuracy like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCy_rVBPKio every week, can we?

Point taken buddy I was just commenting about the games I saw and the SHOTS not the goals. You have probably watched him more than me so I'll take your word for it

Yeah, it was a hope I had in the summer, when Lippi (not really attacking, but class) was available. And Scolari was also a good choice.

Now, I want Rijkaard. Not really because I like him but I have lost my confidence for Ancelotti. A new coach now is really a big risk, but keeping Ancelotti maybe a bigger risk, considering our form (from the year we last won champion league).
