That's the point though, we don't have a set structure anymore. Carlo has seen his authority over which players the team needs diminish over the years and the evidence is plain to see on the pitch.

The people upstairs are just businessmen and they need to realise this. They're not footballers or managers and should leave the decisions on who comes in and who goes to Ancelotti. You can't get any kind of structure back until the manager regains full control over transfers.

Sacking Ancelotti would be a mistake, there isn't another manager available that's better than him or could do a better job under the Milan board regime. How long do you think a new manager would last who came in and made the strong decisions we all want or said no to Galliani/Berlusconi over tactics or transfers?

Honestly I do too, bro
I hate to say this, but i think it's time to say goodbye to one of our greatest coach in milan history Carlo Ancelotti.
Everything has its time, and once again perhaps these will be the best to have a new cycle and starting a new golden era.

That's what i thought before the game vs genoa (if milan defeated) and so does now

Save your bullet and life Peachtot and RossoNero83. If we fail to get 3 points against Lazio next week, chances are good we're having a new coach at the dug out against Inter

If we change the coach just before the Inter match, we are definitely going to lose

If we don't then we'll likely to lose too, so what's the difference?

that won't be bad if we lose only in 1 match against inter.
Just want to give you an analogy from english premier league last year.
Shockingly, abramovich fired mourinho only after 4 EPL matches (cmiiw) and exactly before the big match MU vs Chelsea. The result, yes avram grant lost 0-2 against MU but remember at the end of league, Chelsea could compete with MU with tight total points between them

what i want to say, yes we could be suffer if changing our coach but we could also be better. For this case, i guess we will improve better by having a new coach like rijkaard or maybe someone else

As Jeff said, we first need to stop conceeding goals. Once we start keeping cleansheets then we can worry about scoring.

With Kaka, R80, Sheva, Pato, Seedorf, Inzaghi and Borriello in our attack, it was always going to be tough to find the right balance.

As for the whole Carlo being replaced by Donandoni or Rijkaard, I'm not sure its going to work. D and R favour the 4-3-3 formation and we don't have the squad for that.

I've never been a fan of the xmas tree formation. I'd rather see us use the 4-1-2-1-2/ 4-3-1-2 instead.

We have the attacking force to play the formation and rotate. Kaka/R80 substituting for each other and either one can play as one of the strikers later on.

Sheva/Inzaghi/Pato/Borriello can rotate amongst themselves.

As hard as it may seem we just have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks.

Lastly, I agree with a lot of previous posts. Pato should be the first name on the starting XI, he is wasted on the bench

That's what I meant Jim. I have said it a few times that although we got some of the key targets we outlined this summer, for most of them we suffered a great deal and Ancelotti never seemed sure of what he'd be working with and the management didn't seem sure of who would be brought in. In the past we knew precisely what would be brought in and what they would offer to the club.

I disagree with you that Ancelotti needs full control over who comes in though. In Italy it's always been those in charge at a club that decide on who comes in and who goes out. Ancelotti has his input, but he doesn't make the final call, as was the case for Sacchi and Capello too.

I think Gino's translation of the interview between Sacchi and Carlo raised a lot of good points.

Sacchi: "If balance lacks, why Carlo has to play with $heva and R80? He must chose players that give him the team balance, it's not time for "names". There is no time. "

Has Milan the time to wait for $heva?
Sacchi: there are a lot of problems, now. You have to find the biggest problem, (where is the team play? where is the team defence? where is the attacking team? Simply, where is the team?) first, then try to resolve it. So, you have to wait until $heva will be fit again.
Sacchi clearly asks if Carlo can play the first half 11 again. Though Carlo's theory is right that it can play again, he's shouldn't talk about the team's soul. Currently something is wrong with that 11 and so solutions must be found now.

Why Carlo often picks players so out of form (Sheva, who's been poor for over 2 years) over those who look like they're more likely to regain form (Pato or Borri) is beyond me. Same things happened in the past with players like Rino, Oddo, Janku and Seedorf.

I do agree replacing Carlo now isn't the best idea, but surely it could have been done in the summer when really it was clear his cycle is stagnating.

We failed...AGAIN...
Its too early for me to be passing Judgement.... as we all know, when we win it is because the players play well and when we lose it is the coach's fault...
However, i am no rocket scientist and i dont know much about most things but i do know that with all the wealth of experience (that we so love in our old players) and skill and ability of our players, they should be able to play good constructive football and win that match without the guidance of any coach... there should be no excuses about international break and BS...
I have seen "pick up" teams play better football...

AC Milan and its 4-3-2-1 sucks...Ancelotti should be sacked...Zico or Rijkaard should be a very good replacement...if a big team like milan can lose 5-6 matches in a row then something is wrong..No big team has done that..juve, inter, chelsea, madrid, arsenal, pool, and so on..but with milan it's happened..It's simple sack ancelotti..There's always excuses wen we lose a match and then we claim we'll do beter and w hen the next match comes we do the same thing..Sack Ancelotti once and for all..

I am not sold on Donadoni, but Rijkaard could potentially come in and sparkle up our football. I dont know, if say, he prefered a different formation, or bought a winger in the winter mercato, or even benched so-called regulars like Seedorf and Pirlo---I'm not advocating that, but that may be the change we need---a whole fresh mind-set and whole new set-up----even if it's with the same group of players because the players are world class.

I dont know, but I'm getting a feeling that we might be seeing Rijkaard and Milan and Carlo at Roma at some stage....remember, you heard it here first!! Where's Zlatanov when you need him?
I won't be surprised about that too; if it happened during Winter break or next summer I'm happy. I just think it'll be a mistake to sack Ancelotti NOW.

A whole new formation, so-called new ideas may work, but the question is whether the new-ness will bring us back to the top. That's key.

And im not saying this because of the last day match. After the night of Instabul i had make it clear to myself that Maldini can't help Milan anymore.Thats why every single year after 2005 im trying to tell that he can't help us anymore.
He must retire, he can't help us anymore, sorry about that but...he is finished.
That's what I thought about Kaladze, but his pre-season trainign is so terrible, so slow, so unmotivated that i really don't know if anything you say will stand. In fact, if he had not played at all, I would give him a chance (much like Gourcuff didn't geta chance to play ahead of Seedorf), but his terrible performance is there to see.

And as Isaid, playing Favalli instead of Janku is baffling....

Maldini can still help Milan; there are games when Maldini can be a good backup (e.g., Italian cup; some lame UEFA game), but not the most intense, and probably those moderately intense game (i.e., any Serie A anymore).

He is finished on the top-level, but he has still much to contribute at other less important game. And I hope you'll agree with me on that.

According to Ancelotti - the full team has trained together only for four times since 16th of July.

I don't know if this is true for other teams though... but is this one piece of clear evidence that the time for the team to gel is not enough?
