Rumours on the peninsula (???) suggest that we might swap Pato for Inler of Udinese. Now obviously we need a midfielder with Pirlo out and Inler is a good choice and i must stress 2 things about this news:
1-It's very much just a loan deal, though we'd probably have the option to buy the Swiss player in the summer. 2-Udinese are the ones requesting Pato. Now i don't think this will happen, Udinese wouldn't give up an integral member of their side and even if we entertained the idea of loaning out Pato, he'd still have a few players in front of him at Udinese. Shame because i was kind of hoping the rumour would say we were swapping Kaladze & Emerson for Zapata & Inler ![]()

What I'm about to say doesn't concern the winter mercato (sorry
) but the next summer mercato. On Wikipedia (I know, great source) it says that the Brazilian midfielder Arouca's contract runs out April 30th 2009.Now I admit I don't get to watch a lot of the Brazilian league, but as far as I remember Brasileiro spoke fondly of this guy. Arouca turned 22 a month ago and has already played nearly 200 games for Fluminense (again according to Wiki), plus games for the Brazilian youth NT setups. He's a defensive midfielder, and I truly wish we'd get him on the 1st of May next year to replace Emerson (who could ideally replace Arouca at Flu ).Someone in Italy please tell Galliani! |

Rumour from France: people working on the recruitment of Milan (Edit: it was Ariedo Braida) were in Lyon to watch Lyon-Fiorentina and especially Benzema ... Today, some French websites report that Milan would be in pole position to buy him on the next summer.
So rumours are starting again ... even if it is not for Winter Mercato !! |

...well if Sheva and Pippo both leave...that'd be a great buy! Otherwise we just have bigger selection problems on our hands.

Did anyone else read Moratti has brought Maradonna in to be his South American scout? This was such a clever piece of business, one i'm surprised we didn't think of. I know we have Leonardo, but we could have used Maradonna's links to players, or even just used his prestige as a lure for the top players.
It wasn't even Moratti's idea, he was talking to a journalist and then approached Maradonna. Now Inter have a great connection to Aguero and South American players. I just think we missed out here. Please don't say we don't buy Argentine players, that's a poor excuse.

Even if having Maradona as a scout would give us an advantage in signing Agüero (I doubt it would be a significant one), would we ever spend € 55 million on one player? I doubt that as well.
