hitmannq8, I don't know if that's a mistake though; as I said, you have only been talking about what happened AFTER the sub, but not BEFORE the sub. Milan is losing a lot of ground in the midfield before Pato, who didn't do much then in the second half, and so I could see why Pato is sub.

I agree that Milan was still dominated after the substitution, but i wonder if it could have gotten worse.

Also notice that after that he sub R80 with Sheva, not with Emerson or someone else.

(p.s. Gattuso is subed obviously because his left hand is injured.)

I can't say if subbing Pato is a great move, but subbing him with Flamini makes sense at that point when Inter is pushing and Milan is losing momentum.

And we could have gone in front more perhaps but Milan correctly decided to hold on the game at the end instead of shooting the ball wide potentially.

Defense is still a problem but today the team plays with a lot more determination that has been lacking.

In the future, Ancleotti has to keep making sure that our midfiled will contiue to cover the defense.

I ike the idea of Seedorf playing at Pirlo's position.

Flamini was important and needed I agree, but NOT at the expense of Pato. His speed was so important for the counter attacks and he was causing them all sorts of trouble...

Flamini should have come on for any one of the 3 midfielders (I would have taken off Seedorf)..Or even Ronaldinho, but not Pato.

I agree with you Jeff. Seedorf was the man of the match for me because be helped the defense and he was Pirlos long lost twin today... I like him in that position. Thank you Christian for playing a smart game coming out on Ibra on that one play saved a goal, i think if he stayed back or was a couple of steps to slow it was a goall...

Now he celebrate and fix small problems.

Am I the only one who noticed that the team is actually playing great even with the absence of Pirlo?

Carlo did good with the formations so far

I got to say it great game from both sides. Milan was better at this day. Most of our team played very well. I said most because Kaladze is still shaky and Maldini did what he could. I wanted to see more of Jankulovski and Zambro involved, even I know we had Dinho an one flank. Kaka ran a lot a lot a lot and did very good. Pato tried but just could not to get that offside trap to brake.
I did not like what Gattuso did, and I could not understand why he was yalling at Carlo. It seemed like he was saying "Bastaaaaaaa, bastaaaaaa" but I could not really understand why he was yalling at Carlo.

I have to say that SEEDORF did exeptionaly well tonight. I mean he was just great, he capt our midfield together and controled the midfield with nice short or long passes. Did not gave possesion away, fighted well just great.
Dinho in top today just like Kaka, he did not run like Kaka but killer passes man. Great goal.

Super Derby today

FORZAAAAAAAAA MILANNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also want to point out that Carlo Ancelotti's negative tactics nearly cost us the game but we are lucky that Burdisso got sent off. Why the hell does he take off Pato and bring on Flamini, I know he wants to win the midfield battle, but he is also giving up so much on the counter attack. We were being DOMINATED by Inter since he made that substitution up until the red card. I'm very disappointed because I'm sure most of you here would be very pissed off with that decision if Adriano equalised in the 92nd minute with that free header.

Well done Milan, but Ancelotti needs to learn from his mistakes!

Man of the match - Kaka!!! And Gattuso comes right behind him, and then Ambrosini. Great game by Kaka. When I saw stankovic go for his knee I felt so much rage in me I wanted to kill him!!!
I agree, Maldini is becoming a liability and Kaladze is getting worse and worse.

But Ancelotti has managed to keep all of these superstars happy and willing. He has won our last 4 games including the derby and a game against the leaders who are on fire by the way. Short of Ancelotti coming on him self and scoring with a bicycle kick there is just no pleasing.

People complain about Favalli, then about Emerson. He is playing the cards he has been dealt by Galliani. Milan werent going to win the derby without inter having a last chance or two. Thats just not reality. Its high time people started appreciating Ancelotti for the clas manager he is. In all of our big games, he consistantly outwits them all > Capello, Lippi, Mancini, Moron inhio.

OK, I hate to be a wet blanket, but I am worried about the next game. We are going to play Cagliari, a team that has lost 5 in row. I am really nervous! that our team may loosen up. Please don't take any team lightly in Italy! Back in 97-98, we lost to Lecce at home also at the 6th round, and Lecce had also got 5 losses out of 5 games, Just when everybody thought it was Milan's game, we lost 1-2.

For now, let's just be happy.

Abbiati was very solid...

Maldini has kept their ibra quiet...thats very inspiring.

Gattuso is very essential to the team...he always give the team the heart and passion...

Seedorf did very well defensively...and offensively but he lost the ball on few occasions.

Kaka: I'm speachless...

Ronaldinho: the best thing tonight...welcome back.

Ancelotti: you are the ONE. you deserve more gratitude and credit.

bottom line: Its fascinating to see us keep attacking for almost 75 minutes despite we are one goal ahead.

A post from a member of forza-inter forum.

"Damn you Ronaldinho. He's scaring the hell out of me. Every time he touches the ball my heartbeat is increasing. he might not be in his prime but the fact that he has the potential to do amazing stuff is enough to scare the hell out of me. Especially when he combines with Kaka."

I watched the whole game with Pirlo in mind. Trust me, when he comes back he is going to be fully rejuvinated. This is the first time he has had a rest in years without having to rush back because Milan are terrible. He will be back to his best, with a clear and focused mind. Lets not forget the guy is a serious pragmatist in EVERYTHING Milan has won recently. He is a winner. Cant wait to see him back.
