this topic is spot on. Whay did he not play for us like he plays now? Just hope the "gourcoff effect" does not rub off on pato, that would be all we needed at this moment in time

Maybe these type of players are not ready for milan and need to gain experience elsewhere before coming just as was done with Boban in 89 or 90.

Watching this one with interest, to be honest worried there is no place in our club for promising young stars.

He played very well for France.
I didn't watch yesterday match Bordeaux-Marseille but I read the summary of the game and Gourcuff seemed involved in some of the good actions of Bordeaux. He's the basis of the goal.

Now, it's time for him to show his level again against Chelsea and so to show us if he can play well in Champions League against big teams ...

I have to disagree, imho he was Bordeaux's best player on the field. He was the only player driving them forward or attempting to create anything.

What was clear, was the lack of quality around him.

Ain't like Bordeaux is a Galactico team exactly, obviously he is going to shine from the rest... he did not have what it takes to carry his team against Chelsea. He played in the same manner that he played with Milan.

^^ lol so you expect a 22 year old player at a new club to just dominate Chelsea by himself? Away from home as well? Not even our best players here could do that. Heck not many players in the WORLD could do that. Get realistic, I thought he did okay. Don't know what you were expecting.

Was expecting one or two dangerous shots on goal, creating one or two dangerous occasions for his team mates with his vision (thats his job, he's their main playmaker). And no, dont tell me no team has done that, cuz the crappy EPL teams do that pretty often to Chelsea. Gourcuff did nothing against Chelsea, he was the leader of their team and the main play maker, he did not do his job PERIOD. Moving well and passing the ball around successfully is not good enough, there is an infinite number of players in the world who can do that.

^^ Fair enough but I just hope you're that critical of our players as well. I never said he had a great game...there's a reason why I said he had an OK game. Anyway let's wait till he's played the season through before we can come to a conclusion. I'll be looking forward to seeing your ratings after Milan's games as well.

Gourcuff is great i saw him playing with france against serbia and he was man of the match in that game.In milan he didn't succeded but i think when he comes back on the summer he will be on of our key players on the next years.

where will be play? Ahead of kaka? no? ahead of dinho? no....

He's never looked fully comfortable in pirlo role. and seedorf is better at it anyway. And eitherway pirlo and seedorf will be ahead of him in pecking order.....

He's not fast enough to play on wing if we went w/ a 4-2-3-1 for ex.

I think we loan him 1 more season. Depending on seedorf. If clarence leaves (unlikely) bring gorky back. Gorky isnt the type of player to go off the benc, super sub status. He needs lots of playing time, and itll pay off for us long run. Hes only 22. Loan him out 1 more season, we'll get him in 2010-11 when he's 24. At that point kaka will be 28, dinho 30, pirlo 31, seedorf 34 ALL turning 1 year older during season.
Also 1 more loan will make his price even more. If its decided he doesn fit our tactics.


what i do enjoy though is if he was at inter he'd start :-D... they ri n desperate need of 1 CM w/ a more creative touch.... and we have 5 of them :-D hahaha

Its in ours and gorky's best interest to keep him loaned out, and next eyar to a better side... or potetially in italy? Remember zidane was 24 when he came to juventus. If gorky was just behind ronaldinho or even an older AM i'd say bring him sooner, but hes behind kaka who is still just 26
