Only Manchester City would be crazy enough to pay that amount.

This is a player who basically gets more cards than goals, we don't need that.

first he scored 19 goals and 8 assits if u count fa cup + CL. Second he got very erratic run outs, and he can still score. Third, he's a fighter and a team player. Ronaldo scored alot for them, he dropped back alot created spaces for runs. He is unselfish and can play in a load of places.... i'd LOVE him at milan. He never says die.

I'll agree price is too high, but who is the money going to? Joorbachian?! If so itll be lowered. Although admittedly we'd have to compete w/ mancity who would pay it

I believe that's what they call "the Wayne Rooney-excuse": A striker loses his touch and people defend him by pointing out things like his workrate and how he "creates spaces" for others to score.

Of course a striker isn't all about scoring, but it's the main thing - and it's better to score and do nothing else, than doing everything but scoring.

Tévez IMO should stay in England where they appreciate the insane tackles he does every now and then.

Frankly I'd rather take back Ronaldo (the real one of course) for £0 than pay £34 or even £17 for Tévez.

if we were to add a striker (and of course im talking end of season when sheva or pippo r done) i'd want 1 like tevez. A striker capable of player support or first. With both borriello and pato and possibility to play alone.

unfortunately names off top of my head.... david villa, tevez, ibrahimovic maybe eto'o. Not exactly walmart brands... :-/

zarate, pandev also come to mind.

edit: in my opinion i dont wantanother first striker unless borriello leaves. out ando ut first strikers like huntelaar are too limited. Yeah huntelaar would be great, but we cant play him uptop w/ borriello so we'd have 2 uncompatable strikers.... with say tevez we could play.... pato-tevez, tevez-bori or bro-pato.......

Guys, i would like to hear your opinion on Santacroce.
He reminds me of Cannavaro, for his anticipation game on the strikers and his explosive moves. But i admit i've seen just a few games of him. Who agrees/ disagrees?

"Milan And Roma Agree Mexes Deal - Reports

Milan have agreed a deal with Roma for Philippe Mexes and he will arrive in January, according to Tuttosport.

The Rossoneri have been after the stopper for a while but the Giallorossi have been playing hard ball as they have resisted every attempt from the Milanese giants.

However, Roma appear to have eased off and a deal to sell Mexes to the San Siro-based club seems on the cards.

Tuttosport claims the Rossoneri will offer €10m and Marek Jankulovski for the French defender and he could arrive as early as January if I Lupi accept the deal.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is in Rome trying to tie up a deal in order to land his man ahead of the others. Mexes will be given a four year deal and he will earn between €2.5m - €4m per season, therefore the whole transfer will rise to €20m.

The capital-based club are likely to give-in to Il Diavolo's temptations as they look to recover some of the money they spent in the summer."

Wow, this would be amazing. He's not my favourite defender, but he would be an immense signing - still fairly young but already great. I'm a bit confused, though, as I thought we were getting Juan in January?

I feel the same way as you: He's a huge talent, but I too have only seen him a few times.

Santacroce I have seen in like 10 games so far. As a young player he had ups and downs, but always showed he had potential to be a defender of highest class. Tactically aware, phisically strong, has rithm ( as the man is actually a Brazilian ) and reads the game perfectly. Can play RB also. As far as I'm concerned he reminds me more of Nesta then Cannavaro, and I would take him in front of Mexes right now. As I think Santacroce is a better player then Mexes.

But even if we sign Mexes we did a great job. ( Aldough Im sure that will not happen in january ).

I have similar thoughts tbh. He's a strong and aggressive defender, and anticipates and intercepts balls a lot like Cannavaro. I also understand comparisons to Nesta, due to his physique and ability.

I think he looks like he'll be a star in the future as he matures, and personally I wouldn't mind taking him early if possible.

If Milan aim to replace Maldini and eventually Nesta then Santacroce is an absolute must.

Bonera was once the "New Baresi", obviously he never lived up to the billing. At the time though We had Maldini and were able to choose from a market boasting Nesta, Cannavaro and Thuram. At the end of this season there will be no more Maldini and Nesta isnt exactly a toddler. Its riddiculous we dont already have someone like Santacroce to learn from Maldini before he retires.

santacrone wouldn't be bad for us, infact he will make us better in defense. Our current defence line up, specially in centreback is still okay for this season. But beyond that, we need to have replacement. Santacrone is a good choice. But I doubt napoli will give us easy chance to get him.

As for tevez, even I won't take him for 34mil GBP, but if for 10mil GBP then why not? yet again, it's a big IF.

---

I just watched ESPN sportcenter. As usual, EPL is the majority news, followed by UCL, then serie A is just for 30 sec... I don't usually give any attention, but today there's an interesting one: Tottenham, with 1 points so far may well be relegated next season. That means, players will be sold right?

So, why don't we make the most of it? Afterall, they have Gomez (GK), Corluka (DC), Modric (AMC)... But forget Bentley, he is overrated as other most england players... What do you guys think?

Milan rubbish Mexes links
Tuesday 21 October, 2008
Milan have scotched rumours that they are set to sign Roma ace Philippe Mexes in the New Year.

There were widespread reports this morning that the Rossoneri had agreed a deal with the Giallorossi that would see Daniele Bonera and Marek Jankulovski travel in the other direction.

“The news that has been communicated by several media sources that Mexes is coming to Milan in exchange for Bonera and Jankulovksi is completely untrue,” a short statement from the Diavolo reads.

However, Milan are expected to enter the winter market in a bid to strengthen their ageing and increasingly brittle defence.

Chelsea's Serbian starlet Branislav Ivanovic has been a regular target and Liverpool's Daniel Agger recently entered the frame.

Thank God Mexes isnt coming to us,i mean Jankulovski AND Bonera AND money for him>???? thats just ridiculous.Mexes isnt the reliable defender we need,he isnt consistent,at least not this season....

I dont know why everybody are talking about strikers for Milan? With Pato,Borriello,Inzaghi, and Ronaldinho(he is going to play every game,as AM or CF) we have enough competition, and we still have Sheva on the bench.A striker is not needed, also the midfield is complete with Emerson who is returning into shape and Gourcuff out on loan....

We need a goalkeeper(who we already have,we signed Felipe from Santos in the summer and we loaned him out to Santos because he was to young)and a good defender:Zapata,Santacocre or but thats my personal oppinion:Criscito(Maldini likes him to).
