On at least 3 occasions, I saw players, including Maldini, going to the bench to find some assistance from Ancelotti. There is no fusion of the play, the defense is in absolute disarray, and our coach is clueless on how to fix it. This team needs to get rid of many castoffs, build around our younger, hungrier players, and begin anew. I can't see Kaka' being very interested in sticking around another year of this. That alone worries me, but we're going to be in a much bigger world of hurt when Maldini is gone, Nesta is invisible for many months, Pirlo is a ghost, the rest of our defence is sub-par, we have no creativity, and we can't control a game like we used to.
Thank god I dvr'd that game, I couldn't bear to sit and watch it all. 4-0 and Carlo would've been sacked. Fester looked like he was going to have a stroke. Please, let the cleansing begin and bring us some real hope back.

I've been away for the weekend and just got back this evening. I turned on the TV and saw us down 3-0! Then I thought of the Beatles song "Getting Better" and said to myself: "What were they on about?!?" and I slammed my fist into the wall so hard that it still hurts - though not nearly as much as seeing Milan playing like this.

The genius Ancelotti have spoken: "Hammering can be healthy"...

Personally I think it would be healthy if we started playing well. I don't know about you guys?

I find it amazing how everyone from Santa Claus to Bin Laden is blaimed for Milan's failures, yet no one says Galliani's name.

All this is down to him and he damn desire to decorate the team as if it were a freaking christmas tree. 3 ballondor winners my backside!! And worse is that Beckham still has to come and waste a spot in the lineup.

The sick side of me is happy at seeing Milan pinned back by Torino and Portsmouth and then conceding 3 against a Palermo side. Very happy if it means we will buy TWO defenders. Yes, we dont only need one, we need TWO as we dont havae a single defender who we can call truely world class.

As far as Ancelotti is concerned, Iv always been a big supporter and continue to be. But the man has got to get out of bed with Emerson. Emerson only ever results in us conceding a goal. Ancelotti seems to have forgotten that the best for of defence is attack. Having said that, maybe he is just trying to protect the sh!t defence he has. Lets just hope Galliani actually delivers a defender who will win us some trophies rather than remind us of how ue use to win trophies!!

I am so disappointed right now. I don't even know where to start. Maldini was awful. I love him and all he's done for the club but his performance today was horrid. We need a CB so badly (what was the point of getting Senderos if he can't be used in Serie A). Bonera brings nothing to the game.

Ambrosini and Seedorf just look uninspired. Meanwhile, Gourcuff is playing fantastic in both CL and Ligue 1 and Ancelotti couldn't find a place for him in our squad. Just like last season, without Kaka this team looks flat. Ronaldinho didn't look great today either but I won't complain about him because he has been a great transfer.

I hope our Scudetto hopes didn't end today but 6 points behind already. I just don't understand why Ancelotti can't get this team to play against teams at the bottom half of the table.

Absolutely horrible. This is one of the worst games I remember Milan playing. I can't believe how bad this team played.......and yes I agree with Carlo that this beating may do us some good when it comes to playing smaller teams. We are now 6 pts back and the players will have to bring their best against everyone.

The defence was bad yes.......but I won't put the blame all on them and call for their heads as they had not protection from the middle. Ambro,Flamini and Pirlo let the Palermo players run at our defence all night long. I don't care what kind of back line you have....if your midfield lets the opponents run AT the defenders then the backline will fold. Having said that.....I also can't defend the back line as they failed to deal even with the simplest crosses.

Maldini was bad all night long. Constantly out of position. It destabilazed the whole back line. However, I can't defend either one of the 4 except for maybe Zambrotta who was better then the rest I would say. It's not easy to play with a back line like that however and he too got sucked in towards the middle far too many times. The defence is a domino effect.....one pulls the other......covering spaces and keeping the shape. The problem with ours tonight was that none of them did that and they all bunched up in the middle and folded under pressure while bumping into each other like little kids.

The midfield......the true reason why we were overrun in this game. And here... I put the blame on Carlo. Pirlo was man-marked from the beggining. Carlo should have realized that and should have pushed Pirlo further forward. Then it would have been Palermo's call whether they wanted to still man mark Pirlo in their own half as it would have obviously disrupted their own defensive shape. But.....Carlo didn't do anything and we suffered for 60 minutes, untill he decided to give Pirlo freedom to roam further forward.... obviously now it was pointless as we were already down and Palermo already took the foot off the gas. All of Pirlo, Ambrosini and Flamini were bad. But Ambrosini was by far the weakest of the three. I don't remember him making one good pass, while I can easily remember him missplacing 5 or 6 FIVE METER passes. Pay attentnion....I am not saying 50 meter but FIVE METER passes. He was obsolutely terrible.

Seedorf was the man that ticked me off the most however. I just think it is unexplainable how he can give up the ball, turn around and lightly jog back without any effort. On one occasion he gave up the ball in Palermo's half and jogged back, while Pirlo run right by him. It is unbelieavable and embarrasing. The same thing happened with Zambrotta who flew by Seedorf while the "BIG NUMBER 10" gets to just walk around on the field. I was disguisted by his work rate today. Another time....Zambrotta had the ball on the right and was waiting for Seedorf to make the overlap run who was behing. Seedorf was just stainding there.......and then after a few seconds he started running forward for Zambrotta to play him the ball. Seedorf actually put in a pretty dangerous cross on that occasion but it took him 3 seconds to realize that he needs to make a run and not stand around like a king.

I don't mean to sh!t talk Seedorf as I do think he is an important player for us. But I am just pointing out that I don't think that type of behavior should be tolerated. Carlo should get a little tougher with his players. Drop them on the bench and show them who is the boss.

I am not going to mention any positives from this game. I'll leave it at this and I hope that the players wake up sooner rather then later. The season is long and one game can change everything. Look at Roma now. We are still in a good position with 2/3 of the season left to play. I really think we have the quality to win the league but we need to finish up December strong and then take things from the beggining with the winter training camp.........And I hope that Santa delivers us a healthy Nesta cuz we can realy use him right now.

i dont understand one thing at first when pirlo played bad everyone said he was always tired now he was out for 2 months and comes back and still he is playing just as bad i personally feel like carlo needs to stop playing "Favorites" such as seedorf pirlo emerson ..look at jose murinho he dropped quersama and balotelli because they werent training hard enough with pirlo back we actually play worse i dont think pirlo has it left in him anymore neither does seedorf

I actually think there are plenty of positives from this game.

1. We need one more striker, as Borreillo is hurting, Pato cannot play as a lone hitman, Pippo can only be productive 3 times a month and Sheva probably can't score even against the youth team.

2. A few players should really not be allow to play for Milan anymore, I am not going to name names here as we all know who they are.

3. Defense Defense Defense, at least two CBs and one sb, if we all live in an ideal world, they will be Corluka, Zapata and Santacroce.

4. Stop playing X'mas tree

I mean if 3-1 is not a wakeup call that our defense have problem, I don't know what is?

- Seedorf has been one of our best players this season. No need to elaborate on that as you can just go and watch all the games except for a couple where he didn't do too well. But I think that's acceptable. I was one of Seedorf's biggest critics last year when for a big part of the season he was bad, but let's be fair to the guy this season.
-Pirlo is still one of the best CMs in the world. You simply don't find someone with that vision and passing range that easy. And yes, it is true that he was overused for the past few seasons. Now he is fresh, but let't not put him in the cage after only two starts after a 2 month lay off. He is obviously physically fit as he is playing.......but he is also obviously not match fit yet, meaning that he is not on with he pace of the game yet. It's ridiculous to say that Pirlo doesn't have it in him anymore.
