Rino è abituato alla trincea. E’ così quando arrembano gli avversari, sarà così per metabolizzare una dura realtà. Domani ad Anversa Rino gioca per noi, domenica sera a Torino noi giocheremo per lui.

16 presenze e 1200 minuti giocati. Non sappiamo se saranno davvero gli ultimi della stagione, certamente sono stati, uno dopo l’altro, minuti da Milan, minuti da Gattuso. Il Rino di questa stagione, nato lunedì 19 maggio 2008 dopo l’incontro con Adriano Galliani nella sede via Turati, è stato un Milanista. Un giocatore-bandiera, un giocatore-cuore. E’ quella di domani la nostra vera, grande, trasferta della stagione. Trofei, vittorie, classifiche, vantaggi, svantaggi: calma, un attimo.

Prima viene Gattuso.

Rino ha giocato da Gattuso con il Catania: tenace, vero, totalizzante. Mai semplicemente generoso, sempre evidentemente decisivo: un contrasto dopo l’altro, il giallo che non ci voleva dopo l’ennesimo intervento di copertura. Alla fine della gara il solito post-partita con un po’ di dolore al ginocchio, ma l’appuntamento con la verità è solo rimandato ad un martedì di Milanello che nasce tranquillo e che si conclude tremendo.
Arrivano quasi in contemporanea: la notizia della squalifica ampiamente messa in conto e quella, spietata, subdola, cattiva, della lesione al crociato. Se ad Anversa, dal professor Martens, si procederà subito all’operazione, per Rino la stagione 2008-2009 potrebbe essere fin d'ora un libro alle ultime pagine.

Sarà, comunque vada, a meno di un miracolo al 90’, l’assenza più lunga dai campi di gioco per un giocatore integro come lui, sia da quando è nel Milan sia dall’inizio della sua carriera.
Rino, Rino…sulla sua maglia il rosso è più rosso e il nero un po’ più nero. Lui recupera, pressa, rilancia e il Milanista si sente rappresentato. Anzi, tenuto, preso e portato per mano. Anche domenica pomeriggio, nel freddo di San Siro, Rino è stata la stufa a gas delle tante piccole ansie di una partita importante.

Trasferta europea, dunque, domani, per il cuore rossonero. Rino e il professor Martens. Non sarà facile dirglielo per il luminare belga, ma se lo si dovrà dire e fare che lo si dica e lo si faccia. Dalle parti di Gattuso, non abita la tremarella. Rino è abituato a stare in trincea. E’ così quando arrembano gli avversari, sarà così per metabolizzare una dura realtà.

Domani ad Anversa Rino gioca per noi, domenica sera a Torino noi giocheremo per lui.

WE ARE OFFICALLY DOOMED

So now we only have Flamini who has any mobility or gattuso like work-rate. Emerson, Pirlo & Ambrosini have nothing to offer in terms of this for one reason or another (injury, age or just can't do it). You'd think this would force us to play Cardaccio, but i doubt it somehow.

I'd get someone in on loan in addition to Beckham.

he injured himself couple of times in the Catania match, one of them proved to be more serious than thought..

I think it must be the one suffered in the first 10 mins or so when he tried a tackle but it simply went all wrong..

I actually thought he was going off at that time, but no he goes on like nothing happens :|

Gattuso's gone for the season they say, I hope these are just early false reports. He was really our best player this season so far. Ambro and Flamini have to make a step up now.

Milan communicate that the footballer Gennaro Gattuso, who got injured during the match Milan-Catania, was subjected to an x-ray exam today which evidenced a lesion to a ligament in his right knee. Accompanied by sanitary coordinator Jean Pierre Meersseman, Gattuso will go to Antwerp tomorrow to meet professor Martens for another check.

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is viewing his knee ligament injury as a “challenge” and he intends to return stronger than ever.

The Rossoneri ace was told yesterday that he tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during last weekend's game with Catania.

The estimated recovery time is around six months, which more or less rules Ringhio out for the rest of the season.

“I'm taking this as a new challenge,” Gattuso declared. “It's just a battle to win.

“I am disappointed, but I need to look forward. I have won lots of tests in my career and I will win this one.”

Gattuso went for tests in Belgium with Dr Marc Martens this morning and again displayed his positive attitude in an interview with Telelombardia.

“I'm really gutted by what has happened,” he admitted. “But I think I can recover ahead of schedule.

“I will react to everything I am told with enthusiasm. They say that things could always be worse and there's no need to despair.”

What a terrible news. . . IMO Rino is worth 2 DM. Let's hope that Flamini can fill in his shoe. Cardaccio? Carletto will choose a limp Emerson over him any day

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has successfully undergone surgery on his right knee.

The pugnacious Azzurri ace sustained ligament damage during Week 15's clash with Catania.

But Gattuso is already eyeing a speedy recovery and has taken an important step in Belgium this morning.

“Milan would like to communicate that Gattuso was operated on today by Professor Marc Martens and his team,” a statement from the club reads.

“The player's right knee ligaments were reconstructed and the surgery was a complete success. His recovery period will be around six months.”

Before surgery, Gattuso was full of optimism, but wary of the risks of rushing a return.

“It will take time for me to get back on the pitch,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“However, I don't want to rush things and I have been told to stay calm and use my head.”
