I had to post this, but it's written atrociously.

Milan 'ready for Agger move' Monday 5 January, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are reports in the peninsula that Milan are ready to table a bid for Liverpool stopper Daniel Agger.

The Diavolo have been widely tipped to strengthen their back line in 2009 despite securing the signature of Thiago Silva for next season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are ready to add Agger immediately as the player is unsure of his future at Anfield.

The Rossoneri could be ready to offer just over £6.5m - a sum that Liverpool would be likely to accept.

There are whispers in England that Liverpool are preparing to bring in Portsmouth's Glen Johnson, which would suggest that Agger has no future at the club.

Milan have also been linked with some options closer to home, including Palermo defender Moris Carrozzieri.

--------------------------------

The sections in bold are the worst. First of all Agger does have a future at Liverpool. Secondly, Liverpool paid a similar price for Agger when they first bought him so why would they sell him so cheap? Thirdly, Liverpool have no need to sell Agger, they have plenty of other players they can flog to raise some cash. Lastly, how on earth does buying a Right-Back (Glen Johnson), signal the end of Agger's future at the club? Talk about clutching at straws. Maybe if we buy Agger that will signal the end of Kaka's future at Milan? It's the same logic!

I don't want to start another "this CB is better than this CB" discussion, this is purely about the BS in this article!

I dont see any reason why would L'pool sell Agger. The option I see normal is Gallas...or Dossena who will take LB place.

Or Terry

Aldough, if 'Pool is ready to sell Agger we need any good CB/LB we can get now. Becouse Galliani again didnt do his job well enough in the summer.

Piersilvio Berlusconi himself said he consulted Galliani to buy another CB in the summer.

I think everybody would and could see that...

Gall took a gamble and hoped that Nesta would be fit enough to play in Seri A...

He is solid defender,we don't need extra class now.Nesta will probably play last 2-3 months of this seson! We have Senderos(he is finally going well)Bonera,Kaladze,Maldini and that is to many. Now an expensive CB is a problem in defense line..Player like Neill give us some solution, god substitution..I'm talking about this mercato,on summer is way away difrent story..

We do need class on wingback position since zambrotta is the only true class and he is 31 already.we can move a CD to play wingback as a short term solution.

Here in china are reports about juan from flamengo on our radar, anyone know how quality he is?

How is Lucas Neill a solution to our problems? Even if it's on a free. I hope this isn't the only CB we buy. Please sell Kaladze Festor.

Lucas Neill ?
Firstly he needs an adaptation with Italian football of course he cant be our Clark Kent immediately !

Secondly another over 30 ? I think we want to make strong the defense not make it more weak than now.. someone who is between 25 until 28 is absolutely more promising than over 30.

Thirdly I still request an Italian defender from Uncle Fester. Santacroce is probably only a sweet dream in this winter (dunno if on summer ) but please Google some Italian young defender on internet Uncle Fester ^^

There is a normal chance we'll end up half-season with -9 or more points from Merda. We still have Roma and Viola matches untill season is at its 50% matches.

Milan has no time and points to waste and Nesta needs to play now. Of course, its better to let the man play when he is 100% ready, Im just saying...

If we play january, february and march without Nesta, and play NEsta april and may - I dont think we'll end up fioghting for the scudetto untill the last round.

Senderos will never play in front of kaladze and Bonera under Carlo. kaladze will never play LB as he shoule do at occasions coz we need him to do so, Kaladze is horrible and is a player that has no football inteligence and plays well paired up with Nesta ( 50% on this forum would play well paired with Nesta...), Bonera is ok but is not our solution etc. Maldini cant play constantly as he needs to take care of his knees for big games.

Marek will play in midfield and who will play LB? Favalli? Antonini? Antonini is a fighter, but the man cant defend 1 on 1.

Buying Dossena is 10 times better solution then Lucas O'Neil , as Neil is old, never played serie a and right footed!! There are players like Pasquale who dont play first 11 football... I really dont see Neil halping us in quality way. I understand what you are saying, but to me this signing is stupid and unnecessary. Better bring Abate back and let him play RB and Zambro on the left.

P.S.

And if we play vs Grosso Neil will make a penalty for sure

According to channel four we are after Pennant now.
Hope it's not true, yes he has talent but he has not the right character to play with us.

For the English I've heard some years ago pennant couldn't read is that true?

Lucas Neil is awful and we should steer well clear of him. If West Ham don't want him then why should we? Neil is not a solution to anything. Someone said he'd be ok until the summer, then what do we do with him? We won't sell him after a few months will we!

Agger is also a no go as Liverpool won't and have no need to sell him. Where the Italian press get this idea that Agger has no intention of renewing his contract at Anfield is beyond me though.

And now for Pennant. What a joke this is, he doesn't fit the kind of player we want or usually go for, even if he is free. Apparently this is all based on his performance against us in the CL final in 2007, if this is so what do the Milan management think of his performances since then? He's as awful as Neil and we don't need him, particularly as we have Abate whose much better than Pennant and of more use to us. I'm pretty sure Pennant can read Koeke, he wouldn't know which shirt to put on otherwise

I really wonder what kind of qualifications you need to be a sports journalist these days, a flair for imagination seems to be the main priority. I wonder who we'll be linked with next? Titus Bramble? Mark Viduka? Or maybe some dross from the Spanish, French or German leagues?

Well there is a certain criteria that Galliani looks for:

1. Brazilian
2. Former (Preferably not a current one) Ballondor winner
3. Free agent
4. 30+ years old

That leaves us with a few contendors apart from Pennant and Neil.

We could savour the sight of Roberto Carlos, how about Rivaldo again, bringing Zidane out of retirement or even better lets ask inter really really nicely if we can have Figo. Its also likely that Juve will go and sign two new world beaters while we take Nedved and Del Piero off their hands. we have already been rejected by Cannavaro. Either way, I dont think we are going to see an energetic Milan side any time soon.
