Roma x Milan - January 11

Since I started supporting Milan, the best Milan side I have seen play with entertaining and beautiful football was that of 2003-2004. They were such a strong team and kept playing beautiful football and kept getting the results. The curious thing about that team is, that they only found themselves, and discovered themselves on January 6, 2004, in a game at the Olimpico vs Roma, which we won 2-1. Roma was also a very strong team then.

Curiously we are going to play Roma again now but on January 11, I hope we could find that consistency again after this game. I remember the most important player 5 years ago was Pirlo. He was the maestro of everything, he was the one who made everything click. Lets hope for the best, we cannot afford to drop more points but so can't Roma - so its gonna be a great game.

Forza Milan!

Assuming all are fit, i would pick:

Abbiati, Antonini, Maldini, Bonera, Zambrotta, Jankulovski, Pirlo/Beckham, Flamini, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Boriello/Pato

Subs: Dida, Senderos, Favalli, Strasser, Pirlo/Beckham, Seedorf, Pato/Boriello

I wouldnt pick Beckham against Roma.. De Rossi and Brighi will thrash the living daylights out of him.. not that Pirlo is not far from that.. Pato definitely since Roma will be coming against us.
Also I would like the entire right flank to be more productive since neither Riise nor Tonetto are good.

Borriello is out till Feb, so Pato has to start. Prob get 5 mins at end for 76, so Berlu can play Ponce, Seedorf, Kaka, R80, 76 together.

This is the match which will decide if ACM will win the league or not
This is the last match of Paolo Maldini against AS Roma. ACM must make is a special one for him. I am already starting to feel the pain of Paolo Maldini not playing as a player next season.

I am in disbelief that Carlo is saying Beckham might start...its really a bit too soap opera-ish for me.

That said, even with a partially fit (cannot believe he is really fit enuf to start) Becks, we should have enuf to beat Roma, who will be without Totti, unless I am mistaken. Cant wait to see the line up for this game. Is Flamini fit again? He will be extremely important methinks.

Hopefully our defense will keep a clean sheet, as I feel a Roma side sensing any weakness, and gaining in confidence from a goal, could cause us a lot of trouble.

Should be a cracker of a match...and I refuse to make any predictions. Just hope we win.

Oh, and is no one going to post a "Hamburg v Milan" thread?

Looking forward to the game,I think we can beat them, last year we outclassed them but they were lucky...

Totti isnt available wich is great because he is their best and most important player. And with him they play with more selfesteem.

Also, they are going to play on the attack because they play at home and their defence is weak so i trust on kaka and pato, with the spaces available at Olimpico we can hit them hard.

Dida (if Abbiati doesn't recover)
Zambrotta, Maldini, Kaladze, Jankulovski,
Flamini , Pirlo, Ambrosini
Kaką Ronaldinho
Pato.

Totti, Tonetto and Taddei out.

The ones to watch for are Aquilani, Di Rossi, Perotta and Panucci.
Once we stop the passing lanes and the runs by these players, it should be enough for a point. If our strikers manage to take the chances presented to them, then we will definitely grab three.

I'm feeling confident. Becks should get a chance, even if its on the bench. :P

if we play with this formation mate, for shore we will lose this one, Flamini and Ambro together that will be for us. No Seedorf in the squad wow, we going to Rome praying to take one point.
Roma without Totti is like Milan without Kaka, Pato, Dinho, Seedorf, Pirlo, if we play this game with:
--------------------Dida-----------------
--Antonini--Maldini---------Kala---Zambro/Janku
-----Seedorf------Pirlo-------Janku/Beckham
-----------Kaka-------------Dinho-------
------------------Pato------------------
we will outclass them.
And i will

Beckham should not even be on the stands. We will be able to see only 10 minutes of the full match since the cameras will get the attention on him.

We always seem to have good luck with the first game after the winter break. Hopefully this 'tradition' will continue.

Just read an article from channel4.com w/ Spaletti's comments that the pressure is all on Ancelotti and Milan...and indeed it is.

Will we capitulate like we did in Turin, or will the Milan that put 5 past Udinese turn up in Rome?

Consistent points gathering is what we must be looking to do with our current standings, and I hope we get all 3 in Rome.

Hopefully the "real" Milan will show on Sunday.
