Maybe this is the condition you would get if you were already accustomed with big sum of money for buying famous players (and young!) and then the situation changes. You are now have no such amount of money like in the past but you still want to buy famous or established players. Then you must 'lose' the other part of the famous (established) players have : the peak age/performance.

With every passing day more and more I rather see changes at the very top than transfers, obviously rumours are rumours and reporters do make up stuff but to read the last few pages of this thread and the best player mentioned is Agger, unbelievable.

Bayern head mocks Milan
Wednesday 7 January, 2009 Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has blasted Milan for the way they handled their pre-season camp in Dubai. The Rossoneri shared facilities in Dubai with Bayern ahead of their 2009 opening friendly against Hamburg. With the world's Press swarming around new boy David Beckham, the whole exercise has been labelled a media circus by critics. “The difference between us and them is that we played football whereas Milan thought they were on a Hollywood film set,” Hoeness smirked. “My job is to run a football club and not to make sure that Victoria Beckham has the best suite in the hotel. “I don't know why Milan accepted all these demands. It was just one big scene and only Steven Spielberg was missing.” channel4 I must say, there is some truth to what he says. |

Uli Hoenes is like Zamparini. 9 of 10 comments they made are rubbish. I think Galliani did just right by refusing to respond to this

Whilst Hoeness isn't really worth listening to, he does have a fair point. These days our club is more known due to our fantasy signings or "superstars" than it is as a serious footballing club, which is how we used to be perceived. Our marketing ploys are making us into the the same circus that Real Madrid was a few years ago.
I hate to admit this, but Inter these days are being run much better than we are. They have a clear plan and structure in how they intend to build their squad and get players that are well suited to their structure, irrespective of how big a name they are. Yes they have a huge squad, but there is a definite strategy in place in what they wish to achieve. We on the other hand want to scream and shout about our latest superstar, but for years haven't filled the gaps in our squad. The Beckham signing was a marketing ploy, but now the club are seriously looking at making him a permanent stay with everyone at the club saying they hope his move is made permanent. At 33, well past his best and unnecessary, why on earth are we even looking to purchase him. Had we not kept the deadwood in the squad due to loyalty and spent on the players we needed (a top class forward, a central defender and a fullback) then we would be much stronger. Instead we keep Janku at LB, Kaladze in first team CB, bring back one hit wonder Borriello, over the hill Sheva, give Pippo the same option as Maldini to continue until he decides enough is enough, keep Favalli and Dida. Out of the list I've given, Emerson is probably the only player I can understand, as we got rid of Brocchi and use DM's fairly often so need cover. However, had we bought in one quality defender (that would have partnered Nesta), A quality forward instead of Sheva and a high quality fullback to replace Favalli, then we wouldn't be in the same position we are now as we would have had a much stronger squad, never mind first team. We're becoming a circus. The next summer will give an idea of what to expect in the future, as we still have hope for a strong squad, but it depends now on where our priorities lie. |

Berlusconi doesnt care anymore and so Galliani and co. are too relaxed and the atmosphere is not professional enough. If Cappello was the coach players would be fired up every week, non-stop. This is ridiculous.
I always repeat the same thing, the chances in Milan need to come from changing the coach and having a strict coach that has demands and concrete concept and plan for mercato and team planing. But that will not happen as Ancelotti is a perfect person to run this chaos of a team. Inter did a chase for Eboue, we for Neal? Eboue is a good and young player )25 is young, perfect actually). He hasnt been on top form recently but he is constantly played in midfield and he is a fullback. our politics of giving away non-eu places for $heva and VIUDEZ!!! are ridicuouls and in some serious clubs directors get fired for such ****. Our solution is new coach and Piersilvio Berlusconi as new boss, with new people as directors ( Leonardo and Paolo Maldini have been menchioned and have talked a lot about young players in Milan ). The rest is just lying in your fans faces. And for winter there WERE posibilities that we can play T.Silva, we just needed to let some italianclub "buy" him and loan him to us, like Juve did with Mutu when Siena "bought" him and loaned him to Juve. But Galliani messed it up again. There are holes in serie a law for such things. Later on you simply buy the player back again, in the summer. Juve did exactly the same thing in Moggi-Mutu transfer. There are possibilities, Abate ( not Beckham ) is a good player for midfield, Silva could have been here, Eboue maybe if we didnt sign Viudez etc. But Galliani is doing ridiculous job, its obvious.

Siena was the "second Juventus", I mean, it's Moggi who controlled this club, so he was able to do whatever he wants. There is no rule that can make you sure that with such a deal, the club who bought him to loan him to you will sell the player to you at the end, they can change their mind and then you look like a stupid club (they can sell him to another club or even keep the guy) ... And what club can do that for us ? Is there any Serie A club that is so friendly with us ? I don't think so ... not nowadays. And Eboue is not a solution for us as his defensive skills are less important than his offensive ones ... and the problem os some of our defenders is that they can't defend (Janku) or can't defend properly (Favalli, Kaladze, Senderos, ...). Anyway, I think we'll have one recruie for our defense in this winter mercato but it would have been much better if the guy could have gone to Dubai with our players to train and start playing with our team ... |

inter did the same with their argentinian (their GK now). he came to italy and inter couldn't register him and had to loan him. if a club takes thiago silva for 4-5 months, they will have a very good signing without paying a penny even for the wages. of course this club won't be a team like inter and juve, more like a mediocre team. the problem IMO is the risk for Milan, the risk of injury. beside that is the advantage of thiago silva to adapt to all things connecting to milan. he failed when he came for the first time to europe, so maybe milan learn something from that thing? who knows for me, both options (loan or keep him) are available and having advantages and disadvantages. so, it depends on milan. for me, it's better for milan to loan out thiago silva if milan have interest in alex (chelsea). this will leave one more non-EU space for milan to find a striker or other position. |

Siregar, I don't know if I misunderstood or you misunderstood what mrki said ... what I understood from his post:
- we should have let another club buying T.Silva - this club loans T.Silva to us for the end of this season - this club sells him to us at the end of the loan It's, I think, what mrki said ... and for me, it's an agreement that isn't possible nowadays ... |

Siregar I think you misunderstood mrki's idea (which is what Geotav is laughing at). mrki suggests that another Italian club should have bought him and loaned him to us this season, and then allowing us to buy him next season.

Ah ok, I am sorry. I thougt it's about loaning Thiago Silva to other club in Serie A.
By the way, any news about Thiago Silva? After he did the medical test in Milan, I haven't read any news about him. Did he pass the medical test? When will he join the team? Last questions : when is the winter transfer beginning (what date)? |
