It's such a pity a player of his ability has to prove himself so much to a bunch of idiots who seem to know little about running a football club as against a business.

Somehow I don't really feel confident Gourcuff will return to Milan. He's avoided talking about it by saying he's not thinking about it, but more importantly he seems more committed to staying in France. Along with this it seems no one from Milan has contacted him since he moved to Bordeaux.
The goal was incredible, but somehow I feel we won't see him back at Milan again, which would be quite possibly the biggest talent we've lost out on since Zidane to Juve (when we got Dugarry). |

Bordeaux can do whatever they want with the buying clause (which they said was higher than 15M, remember ?), if Gourcuff decides to come back, then here he goes !! It's to our management to show him in the next weeks/months that we want him back to be an important part of the first team. If he doesn't want to come back, then that means Bordeaux will pay, but he won't be able to go anywhere else as you can't be instantly bought and sold (rule of 3 clubs: you can't play in 3 clubs in the same year, for moment, he is in Milan even if he plays for Bordeaux, if Bordeaux buys him, he will be a Bordeaux player, so other clubs will have to wait until at least 2010 to take him, I say until 2010 because I don't think that Gourcuff, if he stays in Bordeaux, will want to leave the year after). |

Right but he also fulfilled his AM duties by providing the first 2 assists for the first 2 goals. His goal scoring ability and long range shooting are more benefits which can help unlock tight games. Class, class player.

IMO Gourcuff needs a free role to fluorish...so maybe if Dinho or Kaka leaves he should come back. Regardless I think he should maybe spend one more year at Bordeaux so that he doesn't compromise his position for WC 2010.
When I think of big teams who need a player like him...the only ones that come mind immediately are Roma and ...Inter. |

What important thing for Goucuff is that he can show good plays continiously (not in ideal term of course). This is only a middle of a season and he must maintain his performance. A one or two bad games (in a range amount of games) is natural of a player but if he suddenly drops his play in a range of time (many games), then he is still not ready for Milan. I am happy to see him developing but I am still not satisfied. In Milan he could drop his performance in a drastical level (which is normal for young and unexperienced player), so I still wait for the end of the season to evaluate him. The most important thing that the best should be for Gourcuff, not for Milan as Milan can find other player to fill their needs. My options are still loaning him out for one season (except we get a new coach who decide the starting eleven fairly) or just sell him if it's the best for Gourcuff. |

Then it's great from him. I hope he can turn to be a great playmaker who playmakes the game and serves the forwards like other great playmakers have done : Rui Costa, Zidane etc. I am still an admirer of a truely playmaker like Rui Costa, Pirlo, Valeron etc. who opts to give assist than to score by himself (in a situation when other player is in a better position to score).

IMO That right there represents the difference between the good players and the GREAT players. The good players just carry out the task that's assigned and may do it well( e.g. playmaker provides assists, sets tempo etc.) But a GREAT player has that extra. Some other attribute that others in his class don't have. Great goalscoring ability, dribbling ability, defensive awareness as a few examples. That beings said, with Kaka and Dinho in the team, if we bring Gourcuff back, he may become a good player but not a GREAT player IMO. For him to truly flourish he needs a lot of responsibility which means that he'd have to be the focal point in the team and with the current team setup...and team selection I don't think that will happen. You can already see Kaka and Dinho kinda lowering each others effect while on the pitch...farless when Gourcuff is there. |

Check out his stats
32 games, 7 goals. 11 assists. aint bad at all. i dont think the management will let him go this easy. even if he is not gonna play yoan + 20 mil will mean cesc or ribery or any other top star . but personally i would take yoan over anyone this guy is only 22 and he is just like pato has a huge future to come. what we need a hungry players willing to run and achieve not top models.

I just want to be realistic. We all know what happened to Gourcuff in Milan and of course I won't expect such a player you described. If Gourcuff can do his job properly, it's more than enough from what I expected from him and it's enough for Milan but only if next season we have a new coch with fair treatment to his players. |
