Official: Felipe Mattioni

The Brazilian right back Felipe Mattioni (20 years old) signed a 4½ year contract with us earlier this evening. He has an Italian passport and will therefore be able to play for us immediately.
Tomorrow he will undergo the mandatory medical exam.

According to goal.com, a source at Milan has said that Mattioni is "a world class player, and he certainly ready for the big stage that European football is."

finally a good young defender who can actually play and we wont have to wait for him next year lets hope he is what they say he is

Until I see the official statment on acmilan.com I dont belive it. Also some of you would remember Suazo and the official news on milan channel and we still lost him. So until I see him at Milanello tranining I dont belive it.

This makes me actually think: If a player is world-class, then there is NO reason why the management will talk about it: exactly beacuse other teams may join.

So Milan did the right thing of not hyping up the players (until he actually joins of course).

Last year, after watch a Grêmio´s game, I was impressed by this guy...I thought to put his name in my thread("Kaka´s father..."), but since it was the first, and only game I saw of Felipe, I didn´t want to risk "my reputation"

Some time ago I saw a article saying that Juventus was trying to sign him, and I was sure that he would be a Juve player.

I can´t write to much(I´m traveling right now), but if Felipe shows the level that I saw that night, we have a gem on our hands. Strong, skilled(saw impressive dribbles made by him in that game) and showed also good defensive skills...as I said, it was only one game, and I don´t like to hype a player for just that. But since Juve was also after him, maybe he showed that level more than just in one night and Juve(and Milan) scouts liked what they saw.

Btw, every player from Brazil´s South Clubs(Gremio, Internacional...) are more used to a more physical and tough game, since they played this style...So, Serie A type of game will not surprise him.

Now, I hope he can coupe with the pressure, and become another Milan "steal" from Brazil...

Well its interesting. All hypes were coming for players who already not catch much attention for other big clubs as a new comer such as R80 and Becks. I agree that doing it silently will make the cost of new player more reasonable too.

About Felipe Mattioni I'd read that Juve and MU were interested for him and that he can play as right fullback and also do the role as winger Hopefully his departured from Gremio means something for Milan here. But I hope I could find videos about him which is showing his talent. But I dug it and found nothing except his version on FIFA2009 and PES2008

I like this, more action and less talk. Hopefully he can be as good as Il Concorde for us

welcome to Mattioni. I can't say I know anything about him, but if he really is good, then he could play a major part in our season.

I know it's not always a creditable source, but the report on Ch4 says we have him on loan until the summer and then have first option to buy him at that point.

However, keep in mind that in the same report they said he could go straight into the team alongside Thiago Silva for the match against Fiorentina at the weekend. Now i'm pretty sure Silva won't be playing for us at all until next season because of his non-eu status!

First, like other has said, I won't be happy untill I read official statement and he signs a contract with Milan.

Second, is the move on loan or permanent deal? I read on channel4 that it's on loan move. But it's also hard to believe this article as the writer said he could make debut alongside Thiago Silva when Milan face Fiorentina (the journalist seems 'noob').
